Lol, we are chasing. I will even take a close win as a bonus.
Just to clarify, we will be in the final if we win this game, irrespective of the bonus point.

If India wins on 18th march and Bangladesh beats both India and Sri Lanka, three teams will have 2 wins each.

Not that it matters since SL is out. Rule says that bonus point to be awarded to the team that achieves a run rate of 1.25 times that of the opposition. Today pakistan's RR was 4.74 and SL's RR was 3.76, a difference of less than 1. Both commentators and cricinfo say that Pak got bonus point. Am I missing something or have they got their calculation wrong?

@ESPNcricinfo: Pakistan are not actually yet in the final as Neo have announced. India-Bang final is still possible #asiacup
Yes, if Bangladesh beat India and SL with a bonus point in each or at least one, and India beat Pakistan with a bonus point...
Yeah we did.
SL's 188/50 = 3.76
3.76 X 1.25 = 4.7
189/4.7 = 40.1 overs
It was close, but we did it![]()
More simply put for us oldies - don't you just have to score the target within 40 overs batting second?
Anway it won't make any difference - we are through to the final !

In the event of teams finishing on equal points, the right to play in the final match or series will be determined as follows:
The team with the most number of wins
If still equal, the team with the most number of wins over the other team(s) who are equal on points and have the same number of wins
If still equal, the team with the highest number of bonus points
If still equal, the team with the highest net run rate
That's true, but India would also have to beat Pakistan with a bonus point. Just beating Pakistan won't work - the rules you quote are for teams finishing with the same number of points.Actually, I just realised that NRR isn't that important anymore.
This means that for India and Bangladesh to qualify, Bangladesh would need to win BOTH India and SL with a bonus point and hope Pakistan loses to India.
If Bangladesh only gets 1 bonus point, it will tie with Pakistan on points and as Pakistan beat Bangladesh, Pakistan would qualify.
I wonder if the bonus point rule would have made a fairer contest in this WC.
