They just played on few days ago, Chance for CP to comeback but KPK looks stronger than CP.

Central Punjab are batting first after winning the toss.

Good to see Qasim Akram getting an opportunity.

When will Abdullah Shafiq play?
I think he has done some special course on carrying drinks.
Neither is he played in National team nor Domestic team. Not even 2nd XI or Kpl etc.
These years are crucial for his development and he should be played in every match.

Too many decent batsmen are part of CP. If not Abdullah then couple of Malik, Hafeez and Talat could have been added to Balochistan’s squad..

This is box office stuff Babar vs Shaheen

Shaheen beats Babar comprehensively and then Babar hits him for consecutive 4s

Akmal being out after struggling is a good sign. Shehzad will be next if he continues and Shafique will get in then.

lol Shehzad is such a bad player. Still can't believe how many games he played for Pakistan.

Thats some six from Ahmed. Seems to be finding some touch

Akhlaq has been pretty decent in whiteball cricket in last year or so.

Shehzad has found his touch, he will not be dropped now. And Akhlaq keeper playing well.
It is over for Abdullah Shafiq this years Nat T20. Should look for next years Cup.
From being top scorer in last T20 Cup for Team & overall top scorer to warming bench/ carrying for National team and still warming bench for his domestic teams, what a farce.
I think Abdullah should change his team for next year and ask selectors not to select him for the National Team. This his harming his overall Career growth.

Overs 6-10 were torturous to watch from a batting perspective

It seems Domestic Coaches are busy helping their buddies and relatives to get selected in their teams.
No Coach seems to be helping younger player, or providing confidence or opportunities

Asif Afridi having another good tournament so far

Other than a dropped catch this is a decent knock so far from Talat. His issue is mostly with wrist spin in recent times and KPK have none in the XI

Malik and Talat playing entertaining knocks. Malik playing as to prove a point.

Lots of stars or upcoming stars playing in both teams. Get the feel of a PSL match

Malik has been okay so far but, Talat is almost going at SR of 200 against a pretty good bowling attack.

Fahim is really bad in limited over cricket after so many opportunities at domestic and international levels.

Still remember how KK dropped Qasim Akram after 10-11 in 3 balls and 4 overs for 34 in a high scoring match

Sending Fahim before Qasim is like how Nawaz use to get promoted for Northern ahead of Rohail Nazir. A proper batsman will get you more runs over an odd 6 in after wasting 10 ball player.

This is the most embarrassing display of batting I have ever seen from an opener. Israrullah take a bow. If I remember correctly some poster here said he’s a decent option Lool.

Bad day I guess otherwise he isnt that bad a player to be honest. Has done decently in domestic cricket over the years. T20 average isnt great though

Ehsan Adil bowling pretty well. A jaffa to get Adil Amin

looks like a good test bowler. Good length and good wrist. I think he has changed his action a bit

Yes maybe slight alterations, much more zip and pace as well than his younger days.

KPK under huge trouble 19-4 in 4.2 chasing 172

How are guys like Israrullah and Musadiq earning money from cricket. Look like horrible players. Should get some more deserving guys in

this is where our cricket and management level people in the system are below par, hassan ali is a main cog of the wc squad, gets thumped hard on the knee, kp already looks set to lose, why are you making him play/bowl, pull him, rest him for goodness sake, when will our cricket system get smart?

I have seen him quite a few times he makes shahzad look a bradman infront on him.

These are some extraordinary shots from Wasim

wasim jr is a hack, but a high quality hack for a lower order bat, hits them big. something to work with for sure.

Faheem proving again how useless he is in this format.
Mohammed wasim is far better he should be good for Pak if he continues to improve

m wasim jr is a solid prospect, doesnt back away from a challenge, and will only get better...

Hussain Talat should be MOM. Runs, catches and wickets he got it all

he cant really play regular shots, missed most of the orthodox shots he tried.

Needs to work on his back foot game, he was able to hit most on frontfoot but missed on slightly back of the length ones.

Long on six to Qadir, mid wicket 6 and straight lofted 4 to Faheem was pretty decent orthodox hitting

talat can be a stud, but he needs to mentally bring his game up and focus... i would love to see him succeed...

His games especially against wrist spin needs to improve I think. He was in pretty good form when selected in T20Is vs SA at home but, Shamsi completely outplayed him throughout the series. After that he was dropped again

All-rounder Hussain Talat made a contribution with the bat, ball and in the field to spearhead Home City Central Punjab’s 43-run win over the defending champions Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the eighth fixture of the National T20 played at the Pindi Cricket Stadium, Rawalpindi on Sunday night.

After scoring an enterprising half-century, Hussain took two superb catches in the outfield before rounding-off his day with the crucial wicket of Sahibzada Farhan to ensure a much-needed win for his side.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were pegged back at the start of their 172-run chase as openers Israrullah and Mohammad Rizwan fell cheaply. Adil Amin and Musadiq Ahmed both fell ducks as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa crashed to 19 for four inside the first five overs.

Farhan (34 off 30 balls, three fours, one six) and Iftikhar Ahmed (22) tried to rescue the side with a 49-run fifth-wicket alliance, Iftikhar was dismissed by Wahab Riaz after hitting him for three consecutive boundaries.

All-rounder Mohammad Wasim Jnr used the long handle effectively in his 34 0ff 19 balls (three fours, three sixes). Wasim was also dismissed by Wahab who followed that up by sending back Asif Afridi in the same over.

Shaheen Shah Afridi was the last wicket to fall with Ahmed Shehzad taking a smart catch in the outfield, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were bowled out for 128 with 10 balls left unused.

Wahab took three wickets for 21 runs.

Earlier, Central Punjab captain Babar Azam won the toss and opted to bat first. Babar and Ahmed got the team to a flying start, the 42-run partnership ended with Babar’s dismissal for 16.

Ahmed scored 40 off 36 balls (four fours, one six). Muhammad Akhlaq contributed 24 off 19 balls (three fours).

Hussain took the attack to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bowlers and after surviving a drop catch played a series of attacking shots all around the wicket. The left-hander added 75 runs for the fourth-wicket with the seasoned Shoaib Malik who was making his first appearance for Central Punjab. Hussain was dismissed by Shaheen for 51 off 26 balls (five fours, three sixes).

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa bowlers tightened the screws in the last two overs as Central Punjab could only add 10 runs while losing three wickets. Shoaib made 24 off 20 balls, Shaheen finished with two wickets for 39 runs. Israrullah, Asif, Wasim Jnr and Arshad Iqbal took a wicket apiece.

Meanwhile, the tournament enters a two-day break from tomorrow. A transfer window would be opened tomorrow (Monday) through which the coaches of the six teams can swap players who have not yet made an appearance in the tournament. The coaches will make the transfers in a meeting on Monday. The transfer window process will be supervised by Director High Performance Nadeem Khan and Chief Selector Muhammad Wasim.

This move has been designed to ensure maximum participation of players especially the ones who have warmed the bench so far.

Scores in Brief:

Home City Central Punjab beat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa by 43 runs.

Home City Central Punjab 171-6, 20 overs (Hussain Talat 51, Ahmed Shehzad 40, Muhammad Akhlaq 24; Shaheen Shah Afridi 2-39)

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 128 all out, 18.2 overs (Mohammad Wasim Jnr 34, Sahibzada Farhan 34; Wahab Riaz 3-21)

Player of the match: Hussain Talat

He should have been selected for tours to England and N Zealand. The conditions would have suited him.
