He's made several 50+ scores recently, clearly still has the quality to do it.

P.S. This is a jinx thread, OF COURSE he isn't too old to score it! He's still a youngster beauty!
 
Retirement talks are on, its better to delay the 100th 100 for the while. Meanwhile let's keep hitting 50s and increase the all time runs tally :kapil

I guess sachin is going to retire from test cricket after this series. This is the only way for him to get survive from critics.
some odi matches ahead. he may think to score his 100th 100 in odi matches.
but its time now for sachin.

In all seriousness it was a poor reaction by Tendulkar after being given out - it was a reasonable call.
 
aleem dar is a fine umpire guys just don take this thing other way around what went wrong in other 4 innings ,

I think India should review their own decision about drs any way would not help in little master case
 
It was a terrible overreaction, if he does that for one hitting the stumps i wonder what his reaction would be if he gets a huge edge and is given out lbw?

- It is to speak and think like a child with 99 coins in his piggy bank, 51 made of silver and 48 of lead, who is dying to acquire one more coin of either kind because he will then have a hundred metal coins.

- If Tendulkar played Twenty20 cricket for India, would an "international century" scored in that format count towards this century of hundreds?

- Cricket does have one one true God, who lives alone in his own private heaven; unluckily for desis, he isn't Tendulkar, He is the aforementioned Bradman. Everyone else, from Hobbs to Lara, is part of a supporting pantheon of demi-gods. Tendulkar is among the most distinguished of these but he isn't pre-eminent, not even in this second-echelon host.

- He isn't even the greatest cricketer of his generation. If I was a determined South African fan looking for numbers to prove that my man was the best, I could legitimately argue that you would need to merge Sachin Tendulkar with Zaheer Khan to come up with Jacques Kallis. Zaheer, India's best strike bowler for years, has 273 wickets, barely more than Kallis.

Said that all along, it's a gimmicky stat or you could say at best a quirky stat.

It is not a genuine milestone and if i was anybody other than tendy who was heading for it we wouldn't have even known about it till it was all over.
 
Agree with the article above. Don't really understand this logic of 100 hundreds. It's not 100 test hundreds (which is perhaps near impossible to get). It's combined from two formats. But each format is treated seperately. You don't rate a player in tests on the basis of T20. I'm sure if people thought 100 test hundreds (or 100 hundreds in any format) was possible, no one would give a damn about this combined record.

The big achievement in my opinion was fifty test hundreds. Something which he already has. He's on 51. And perhaps 50 ODI hundreds. And also the fact that he holds the most number of test centuries too.

If a guy goes on to beat Tendulkar's no. of centuries in tests, yet doesn't beat it in combined (i.e. not enough ODI centuries to equal a combined 100), then even so that's going to be a bigger achievement than a combined hundred hundreds. Similar thing with Murali, people focused on the fact he'd taken 800 wickets in tests and held the all time record. They didn't go, oh wait he's already achieved 1000 combined wickets in tests, anything else is just extra. Most people don't even know when he reached 1000 combined wickets. There wasn't a big fuss about it.

First it was Lord's (Mecca of Cricket)....then Kolkata (biggest Cricket stadium in India), then Mumbai (his own home ground), then Melbourne (Boxing day)..... and now Adelaide (home ground of the 2nd best :P batsman ever)! :))


How fitting it would be if SRT could complete his 100th ton @ Adelaide, Bradman's home ground of South Australia.

It would also help us as well as SRT himself to end his agony and get on with the business of taking his Bhaarath on winning ways...Even a draw would save face here...
