Not really - it is a meaningless record, made even more ridiculous by all the pathetic hype built around it by the marketing men and the idiotic sub-100 IQ 'fanboys'.
Yes, because of these retarded fanboys, of which India seems to have far more than its fair share, this record will get a lot of publicity. It will also be probably commemorated by BCCI etc, thereby making it important in
Indian cricket history - all that is fair enough, after all marketing is important and products have to be sold to idiots too.
However, in cricket history in general, the record is meaningless since it combines different formats - no cricket record is kept that way and never has. No player is measured or appraised in this way.
Tendulkar reaching 15,000 Test runs, or 20,000 ODI runs, or 50 centuries in Tests, or 50 centuries in ODIs are ALL far more meaningful and significant milestones / records - because those milestones/records actually exist!
