What's new

Congratulations Sachin Tendulkar on hundred 100s! [Finally!]

Yesterday i had a dream. :)

Myself and sachin were classmates and i kept on irritating him about his inability to score his 100th 100.
Sachin scored a 100 and then poured cold water on my legs in front of all and didnt say aword.
Water in the bucket was related to his cricket , and he poured everything. :13:
I felt embarrassed in my dream when he scored a ton. :(

Ahh, so it was a wet dream! :)

"Sourav Ganguly has said Sachin Tendulkar needs to reconsider his decision to keep playing one-day cricket"

Ab to apney bhi yehi kehtey hain :P LoLzzz :akhtar

I think he is destined to do it against Bangladesh in a non-pressure situtation on a flat deck in Dhaka where even the Bengalis will score 400+ (mind you doesnt take a lot of effort doing that against Indian bowling on any track). He will probably come in to bat when its 200-2.

That would be quite symbolic.. reminding everyone how Tendulkar got most of his 100 centuries, apart from the odd fluke here or there.

He would do it against Pakistan in the Asia Cup reminding rabid fans like you that he's been the reason why India has beat you every single time in 5 world cups and then maybe you'll realize who's the real baap.

Thanda paani for you Sir ! :yk:yk

This thread is getting a bit boring now Teendu is getting out way too early, next time lets not jump the gun allow Teendu to build his innings give his followers hope, once he gets around 80 or 90 than bump and see the inevitable. Nothing can beat Teendu getting out in the 90s after so many failures that will bring some much needed life back to this thread.

He'll easily score a hundred, if Chandimal and Jaya thrash the aussie attack, this will be a piece of cake for :sachin

He will do it today! I can just feel it in the air! Good bye this thread! Your days of jinxing are over! :D

Cometh the hour, cometh the man!!!! Tendy, this is the time that India needs you most!!

:sachin

^^
3AM in Boston, and you are up to watch the 100 today??

Effigies of Simon Taufel will be burned in India shortly

Just got back from work (my new business). Yes, on a Sat night! Tendy has taken pity on me and run himself out so I can get a bit of shut eye.

That was actually pretty distasteful. Regardless of whether he would have reached or not, the fact that Brett Lee was celebrating like that.. Just didn't do it for me. I felt bad for Tendu. Was looking good today.

Well.... he is run out... and "a little" upset while walking off the field. :))

It was fun following this a few months ago but now it has just become embarrassing.

lee was not looking at him I will not blame lee for this and beautiful work by warner.

Lee doesn't need to get out of the way anyway. All he did was stand his ground. Wasn't even looking at Tendy.

Apparently our friends on a certain Indian cricket forum reckon Twatto should have withdrawn the appeal because Lee had the temerity to be standing in Tendy's way.

Pretty sure Indians wud hv withdrawn it

What i find surprising is that the umpires didnot refer to the captain as they did in the Thirmaine case. I hope this serves aa a lesson to our captains to harden up :|

Salam All! Im a newbie, but just saw the tendulkar dismissal and had to write...

Lee did absolutley nothing wrong - Tendulkars reaction was one of a desperate man. Very sad to see a legend bowing out ungracefully...

Poor SRT, no 100th 100, no Gold coins, instead for his comical failures Downunder, he's awarded the booby prize, a bronze statue.

The run-out

It was a day of potentially controversial runs and consultation with the rulebook. After the David Hussey incident, another potential incident happened with Tendulkar. Gautam Gambhir bunted one down to point, and Tendulkar set off for the single straightaway, only to find Brett Lee, the bowler, in his way, near the striker's end, with his back to the non-striker's end. According to the law, it is the batsman's responsibility to run around the bowler; not the bowler's to make way. The only way a batsman can get away with such a run-out is if the fielding side withdraws the appeal. Australia were in no mood to. The supporters of mankading can stretch the point and raise the question why the umpires didn't ask the fielding side to reconsider this appeal.

I guess Dhoni was correct, the oldies do cost runs in the field. If SRT was a tad younger, he'd have an extra yard of pace while running between the wickets.

:)

Forget the hundred , even the decent scores are deserting him.

Just concentrate on tests Sachin!!

Don't worry.

He will DEFINITELY get his century in the next game against Sri Lanka. The stage is set. It is a guarantee. 100 %.

Screw them, Tendu deserved to be sent back for being slow and old, also his reaction was disgraceful, if he wasn't concentrating too much on Lee's he could have reached the other end. Also according to the law he's out, stop whining friends from indian forum :nehra

If not this series, it's coming!

Dhoni thinks otherwise. He thinks Lee should have run out of Tendy's way to make it easier for Tendy.

" I don't think we can justify the fact that Lee was going towards the point fielder. I don't think he had any business there. Then he stopped right in front of Sachin, which means you have to take a longer way, across him. That's my reading of that particular run-out."

Oh no!

Virender Sehwag, Sachin Tendulkar could be 'rested' for Asia Cup
Indranil Basu, TNN | Feb 27, 2012, 12.28AM IST

NEW DELHI: As India's tour Down Under nears a disastrous end - they are virtually out of the ODI tri-series after losing to Australia on Sunday - the national selectors are in a quandary over whether to drop out-of-form opening batsman Virender Sehwag from the squad for the Asia Cup in March.

Apart from a poor run in Tests and having scored just 35 runs in his last four ODI outings, Sehwag has also been at the centre of an unsavoury ego clash with skipper MS Dhoni. The row was needless, feel sources in the Indian cricket board.

The board also wants Sachin Tendulkar to be rested, so that he can take his mind off the pressure of scoring his 100th international ton, BCCI sources said.

Though they have not singled out any specific player, the selectors, who meet in Mumbai on Wednesday, will also keep the "attitude of players" in mind while picking the team.

There is a feeling among a section of selectors that given the manner of his dismissals, the Delhi dasher needs a break to reinvent himself. Others feel Sehwag, going purely by reputation, deserves a longer rope and shouldn't be singled out for what is a collective failure by MS Dhoni's team.

In all likelihood, the selectors may choose to 'rest' him. "He is too big a player to be dropped. However, there could be a consensus on resting Sehwag," a BCCI source told TOI, adding: "The sympathies of the selectors are with Sehwag and he could have been a replacement as ODI skipper in place of M S Dhoni had he been among runs."

There is also pressure on Suresh Raina to keep his place. With the top order floundering, Ajinkya Rahane may get a look-in for the tournament which gets underway in Bangladesh from the second week of March. Another player who may make a comeback in the middle-order is Tamil Nadu's wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik. Bengal pacer Ashok Dinda, who sizzled on the domestic circuit this year, can also hope for a place.

I think we should start one of those online petitions to ICC for awarding Tendy a free 100 :)

This is fun .. does someone have stats on how many innings it has been since he last scored a 100?

20 or 30 I think?

This thread will never die :wahab

Even when he gets it now it won't be a relief, it won't mean anything. He took so long to get it there's close to no point when it does happen.

Mark my words, he's getting it now. Extra motivation if he's out of the Asia Cup as well, he doesn't want to prolong it. I'm sure he's going to score the century. 100% sure.

As Dhoni recalls watching those games in Sharjah back in the 90s when India would go into the final league game of a series with a NRR situation facing them. A couple of such memorable chases from the 90s - against Zimbabwe in Benoni in 1997, and against Australia in Sharjah in 1998, the famous Desert Storm game. One common link between the two - Sachin Tendulkar scored rousing tons in both.

Oh sh..

Written in the stars.

He's gonna score his 100th shatak

Come on sachin, doesn't matter if India wins or not, 100th shatak come on bro

Jinxing this thread. Let him score his 100 and retire ON A HIGH peacefully. :D

Have never posted in this thread.

But I think its done today. Good pitch, toothless bowling, plenty of score to chase hence less pressure and more freedom to smash the ball around.

Go Tend!

Who ever claimed this thread would not work - please go wash your mouth out!

What an end to what could be SRT's final ever ODI!

:)))

if he does it on 18th March,it would be an epic end to this thread

Haha, yeah.

Would you wan't :sachin to make a 100 and India loose, or India to win and :sachin not to make a 100?

What if :sachin makes an epic 250(150) balls (India loose) -vs- :sachin 0(1) (India win)

Question applies to all Indian braadraanz over hea'h :nehra

Are you series...ofcourse Sachin's 100. Its not even a question...I would actually take two poverty struck kids dying than sachin not scoring his 100.
