In the last 2 years, India has played 49 T20 internationals. Bumrah missed 39 of them. So played just 10 matches for India. But played 14 for Mumbai Indians.

Huge black spot on Bumrah. Shows his priorities. In the last 2 years, India has played 49 T20 internationals. Bumrah missed 39 of them. So played just 10 matches for India. But played 14 for Mumbai Indians.

Yeah. However, Bumrah could have been the best bowler in all formats had he sorted out his priorities.Rabada is comfortably better than him. Plays all games.

So far his achievements are,
1) Winning us test series in Australia and doing really well in England too. Was instrumental in winning us the Nottingham test out of nowhere last year.
2) Has choked in every single world tournament he played in so far.
3) Hardly ever plays for India (especially the LoIs) except for world tourneys where he royally chokes without fail.
4) Gets injured at the drop of hat in international cricket. OTOH, has no problems in playing out entire IPL season with alarming regularity.
5) Almost always chokes in 4th innings of tests even when our batsmen give him good targets (considering the pitches) to defend.
I am okay as long as he misses T20 bilaterals. My only concern is him choking in ICC tournaments and 4th inning of tests. That's two decisive situations of the game.
To his credit, he has won test series in Australia and helped us drew in England and that's a great achievement. Overall, still achieved more than anyone else bar Kohli from current Indian team.
Massive blow to India, Bumrah would have been lethal in Australia.
Someone rightly called on this forum that his action is susceptible to injuries.
I don't know his stats in loi's in Australia but I remember him being hit all over the park by Steven Smith and not taking many wickets.
Don't think he was going to be that dangerous.
Why let facts get in the way of a rant?He has the best record at the MCG for non Australian bowler better than Ambrose and the old bowlers.
Would take Zaheer over Bumrah anyday
That is only bcoz either you don't understand cricket or watch too much T20s. As things stands, Bumrah is a better red ball bowler in SENA countries compared to Imran, Wasim, Waqar and Sohaib's of the world. Infact, if he retires tomorrow, he would go down as best seamer EVER from Asia. You can still pick Zak (whom I love) over Bumrah anyday but unfortunately it would be only you.
He has the best record at the MCG for non Australian bowler better than Ambrose and the old bowlers.
Australia will host a t20 world cup not an ODI world cup. It's written LOI's. Test stats are not relevant when you are touring for ODI'S or T20's.

Bumrah is a champion t20 bowler while Smith is a d grade t20 batsman.
I also think Bumrah is a champion T20 bowler. Over the past few years he has not been far from the best in the format if not the best.
But it just feels he is not as dangerous as he was.
Even in ODI'S he was a champion but suddenly team started to play him a lot lot better.
Let’s see how his pace goes - baby pace to embryo pace?
All hail Jasprit Bumrah as the legend returns.
He is undoubtedly the best Indian pacer ever.
Thankfully u never compared him with Ashok DindaBumrah is like the evolution and successor to Debasis Mohanty![]()
