Akmal lucky in that final delivery.

This pitch is very quick! Pakistan have to do something outstanding from here I feel.

Vettori has set the fields beautifully here. Not allowing for the singles that Yousuf feeds on.

As I type, GLORIOUS COVER DRIVE.

Sarkar -- Pak batsmen are under severe pressure so they are making the wicket look way more difficult than it really is.
I understand that sir jee, but you can see from some of the shots that the ball is holding up a little bit. Its certainly not one of those pitches where the ball comes onto the bat easily

What a shot by Moyo! Wonderful drive through mid-off

Vettori's last ball was faster than Ishant's fastest of the tournament.

lets not worry about Indians at this point...why does everything have to be compared to India...we are in the semis and if we lose here we are nothing better than Indians...LOSERS

Thank goodness for choka! Hope this won't be a New Zees rout, their recent ODI 2nd innings chases are impressive.

Momo I think you made a thread about this earlier - Vettori has gone against the tide here, and kept his off-side fielders in the ring. Hasn't dropped back mid-off.

So getting kicked out in the preliminary rounds and losing in semis or finals is absolutely the same thing?

If this p'ship can last till 35th over. Then we can post around 230-240 :afridi:

Which has paid dividents. Bravery almost always does.

If we want this match we have to be braver and more imaginative than the NZders.

Still not too late.

We'll need to bowl brilliantly to defend anything under 250.

NZ fielding has been brilliant.

Vettori's field placings too have been spot on.

more or less ...in 20 yrs , they wont be saying , " Remember when Pak won two matches in the 2009 CT , that was awesome !" ..lol

Akmal has shades of the mental processes of :afridi in his batting.

nope...but neither makes you a champion...and ask any players...championships count...constant comparisons to India doesn't get you any trophies

I have soooo much faith in our bowling that if we can Inshallah score even 240-250, I know our boys can take us home.

MOYO needs to keep on telling the kid that he needs to play a sensible knock here as we just cant afford to not play out our full 50 overs!

250 is more than enough for them Kiwis. 220-230 is competitive. above 200 can be defended given some good luck.

Moyo is slightly troubled by the extra bounce here.

However for years, India beating Pak in a WC - and then failing to win the tournament has been viewed as 'memorable' an worth constant reminders.

Make your mind up....

Someone needs to tell Simon Doull to check the rankings again because Vettori is # 2 not 8.

Umar needs to chill and just work on consolidating here

Very little things matter after twenty years mate. But you will be lying if you say it didn't matter to you now when India got kicked out in the first round.

I understand mate. I know it's painful. Kuchh na kaho, kuchh bhi na kaho....
:asif

MoYo also needs to rotate the strike to ease the pressure.

NZ using the short ball very well ... knowing its a weekness for Pakistani batsmen!

I have to say, as much as Daniel Vettori is a cry baby, he is also a world class player and v.good captain.

Do you know what you are talking about here? I doubt it.

I wasn't comparing Pakistan with India. I was comparing Vettori VETTORI with Ishant ISHANT. So easy with the lecture.

Got it?

Hey I like optimism.

But this is pitch reminds me of the India v Pakistan pitch at the Oval T20 Warm-up game.

That pitch had good pace and if you got if off the middle then there was no catching it. Pakistan made batting look hard on that, India made it look easy.
