What to learn bro?.Didn't he just got out to 1 chasing a small target. But thats excusable, had it been Tendulkar, the choking things would have been all over.

But yeah nice cover up of the failure.Keep it up.

Thats one out of how many attempts? 10?
in 1999 final,he wasnt required..In 2007 final,Gilchrist stepped up..In 2006 ct final,bowlers did the job for Ozs..so where has he really failed?

So if some one else bailed his team out,he will be regarded as a pressure game champion?

Huh? He batted and didnt score runs. Does it matter if others did? How can u praise an individual for his team performances? If Sami was playing in those WC for Aus as a batsmen would you praise him for being in a winning team?

he wasnt really required for above mentioned occasions.Australia were never in trouble in those matches ..so,you cant say that he chokes in big matches..when he got the chance,he did his job i-e in WC 03'

I think Australia will have trouble playing Jeetan Patel.....btw where is Saqlain Mushtaq didn't they appoint him spin bowling coach for 6 months?

Wt are you talking about? In Wc 2003 he came after Gilly had already murdered the indian bowlers.(105 in 14 overs), some crisis!! In fact in the other games, barring 99, he was needed more than in WC 2003

When you call somebody a big match player,it means that he has either scored runs when his team is setting the target in that match or he rescued his team when they are chasing a substantial target when they were in some sort of trouble.Ponting never really had a chance to show his worth in those matches but when he got one,he cashed on it(wc 03').

So one world cup match is sufficient to give the crown for ''ultimate pressure man''.In that match,he wasn't even chasing.

Excellent Bowling...Harsha is talking about Mills and boon..

Cant the ICC find commentators from other countries...

There were still runs to be scored in the 99 wc final. Ponting was chasing a total in he 2006 and this ct final. There were still overs to go in the 2007 wc final................I don't understand you mate.

you indians are so self centred. This is a kiwi-australi game. why bring your loser choker demigod into this discussion.

i hope this match gets abandoned due to rain while Australia being 38/6 after 19.5 overs.

I think Ian Gould has missed that one!

I heard the nick!

Why no snicko??

He had a chance to cash on it when chasing in 2006 and todays ct final? Chasing in a big final. In fact he was under pressure in the former two matches mentioned rather than a great start in the 2003 wc final.

Because of such comments! Can you tell me what Ponting did here? Did he choke?

New Zealand has done well to reach 200. Now they are putting a lot of pressure on Australia and are bowling well.

in 03,had he not scored those runs then what would have been the worth of that inns from Gilly..It was not that Aus were 200 odd for 1 and then Ponting came..Teams can still come back from 2 wickets down for 125 runs-ie bowling side but Ponting didnt allow india to come back and took the game away from India.
in 2007,also Gilchrist alone did the job,so would you say that Ponting failed there? No,he wasnt really required for the job..in 2006,CT final..WI were shot out for 130 odd.Aus were never in trouble achieving that total..

I re-tuned expecting to see the final flurry of boundaries and the Aus win

25-2 off 14 overs???

Ok, merey Indian bhai. Ponting is a crap player who crashes under pressure while Sachin is the only Champion on this earth who never chokes or crashes under pressure. Happy?

who has said that!I wont call him ultimate pressure man because Australia have never really been put under pressure in big matches..

I totally agree ... Sachin is the Man.

Then what exactly is your point how the heck Sachin jumps in a thread when he is not even in the country where the game which is being discussed is played? Remember he went home on a flight to Delhi way back.

So only one Innings in pressure makes him a player for big occasions ................... Wht abt the Indo Pak match in WC 03, which to many was a high pressure cooker match more than any WC Final which would also be agreed by many PPer's had'nt the man performed in tht match ......... if one match innings is taken into account??? :)

Dropped catch. Now AUS will hit back. Same as what happened with PAK in our semi.
It was a hard chance ............ not a lolly pop which Pak missed in SF ......

This wasn't that hard a catch. Especially with gloves on. Though YK's was easier.

Anyway, my point was that this catch may turn the game around.
