Then what exactly is your point how the heck Sachin jumps in a thread when he is not even in the country where the game which is being discussed is played? Remember he went home on a flight to Delhi way back.

When you call somebody a big match player,it means that he has either scored runs when his team is setting the target in that match or he rescued his team when they are chasing a substantial target when they were in some sort of trouble.Ponting never really had a chance to show his worth in those matches but when he got one,he cashed on it(wc 03').

WC 96, his team was batting first, Ponting scored a painful 45 and his team lost. Wasnt he needed then? Didnt he have a chance to show his worth? And what sort of trouble was his team at 106/1 in Wc 2003? it was a cakewalk

Just pointing out the double standards. If it was Sachin instead of Ponting there would be thread after thread on PP about him choking

Australia are dominating and New Zealand are on the backfoot. Wickets are needed badly for New Zealand. Anything can still happen, quick wickets are the key.

It is due to the Choking of Ponting that Australia are in the final of the CT, while the genius of Sachin Batted Brilliantly against Pakistan and even then couldn't take his team into the semis.

Just see who performed and who choked?

I think its safe to turn over to A Villa v M City now.....Good day to you all...

I'm already watching that, Dunne on scoresheet against his former club.

Oh so you guys consider performances prior to the Final.

Just one match and you see a major difference ............. if its one match that decides how top is the team then Yes

Pakistan team defeated India .... they are great team, with high class players who can be compared to Don, Imran, Wasim .....

NZ beat Pakistan ..... they NZ are one of the top and great teams, with very high standard players of the calibre Lilee, Holding, Sobers .....

We are in esteemed company...roll out thered carpet

:yk :yk :yk

Come on Oxy ... unlike Indians we dont hand out red carpets to flash in pan performers like yours truly.

Red carpets are reserved for Legends like yourself ... Master Blasters like Viv 'Oxy' Richards ! :)

Afridi made Half Centuries in SF and Final and also bowled and fielded well in T20 WC that lead to WC win.

Watson has made century in SF and half century in Final and also bowled and fielded well in CT 09.

If Aus wins this match which seems likely

Can we say ...

Afridi = Watson

or watson > Afridi

Australia 137-3 - Australia require another 64 runs with 7 wickets and 14.3 overs remaining @ 4.41

Good umpiring till now ............ no sort of issues till now ...

Shows the class of the men officiating there .................

35.6
Bond to Hussey, FOUR, Hussey's totally unflustered, what a way to start off, short and wide and he latched onto it, hammered it hard over midwicket for a boundary

Without M.Clark, Bracken, Haddin ...............

Also came from a very long and tiring series in England ...................

There is no tiresome logic given (or) they have not said they where missing some key players

Indian Players and selectors are u watching ................ this is how a team should be ............................

Hope the selectors have a look at the Aussie domestic structure and come up with goods .......

Maafi bhai maafi, ghalti hu gai sachin ko choker keh diya. Saabaq haasil hu gaya aainda nahi kahon ga.

I really rate Sachin very high, man we can't score that much runs in Mohallah cricket and that guy has that many runs and centuries in International cricket and I don't give it a damn that against whom he has scored. These are the international runs and I admire every single of them with my heart.

But having said all that I will have Ponting in my side on any day ahead of Sachin. Ponting is a proven match winner and performs regularly on big stages where as many critics don't think that Sachin has that quality. Whatever anyone else says I rate Ponting much higher than sachin, but I also love watching the Little Master in full flow.

but we are just calling a spade a spade.
Sachin C Tendulkar is the King of chokers

38.3
Mills to Hussey, OUT, Mills gets Hussey! Bowled it on a driving length outside off, Hussey is not totally committed to that shot, just scoops that drive straight to Patel at point

Mills grabs his third, and New Zealand may have just been given an opening. It'll be interesting to see if Ferguson is fit enough to come in, though they might save him for later. Here's Hopes

I still cant beleive that this is the newzealand side the beat us in the semi final..

It's not. That team had Vetorri - he is 50% of the team.

now if the kiwis had a boon to go with the mills, they may be able to pull this one off :)

Surely even a couple of hacks like Hopeless and Twatson can't fark this up for us??

39.5
Butler to Hopes, FOUR, shot, back of a length, Hopes gets back and forces it through that gap between extra cover and mid-off for a boundary

Looks like the shaggers are making a final run at the OZ

New Zealand 200/9 (50 ov)

Australia 165/4 (39.6 ov)

Australia require another 36 runs with 6 wickets and 60 balls remaining

Who's this next pie chucker they have coming up?

Just take the Batting Powerplay already. How come teams are so scared of using it??

Cause the teams have that fear of losing early wickets in the powerplay, thats why they usually leave it to the end. We all saw how india did against Pakistan in the 3rd Batting powerplay, they lost the crucial wickets which cost them the game thats what i beleive is the reason.

New Zealand 200/9 (50 ov)

Australia 168/4 (41.1 ov)

Australia require another 33 runs with 6 wickets and 53 balls remaining

Allan: "Back to "watching" the game on Cricinfo after the pub (The Dickens Tavern in Paddington) we'd been watching at switched to soccer without even having the courtesy to tell us even though they knew we were watching at the bar. No thanks to London hospitality!"

41.5
Butler to Hopes, FOUR, Hopes is unforgiving on that short one, gets forward and dispatches that poor thing over midwicket for four runs

New Zealand 200/9 (50 ov)

Australia 175/4 (42.0 ov)

Australia require another 26 runs with 6 wickets and 48 balls remaining
