The downfall of the local cinema industry has not only resulted in the onslaught of foreign content but has also influenced youth’s upbringing on high moral values, said Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday.

Chairing a meeting to discuss the role and revival of the cinema industry for promotion of national identity, culture, and heritage, the premier said cinema played a vital role to highlight social values and national heritage, besides providing quality and inexpensive entertainment to the people.

Information Minister Senator Shibli Faraz, Industries Minister Hammad Azhar, special assistants Lt Gen (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa, Dr Shahbaz Gill, and Zulfiqar Bukhari, Senator Faisal Javed, secretaries of relevant ministries, State Bank governor, FBR chairman, and senior officers attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the prime minister was briefed on the revival of the cinema industry and challenges confronting it and efforts to address those.

Regarding the proposals for an incentive package to revive the cinema industry and local films production, the prime minister directed the relevant ministries and departments to furnish a roadmap for implementation of the proposals.

The prime minister said the promotion of Pakistan’s unique identity locally and globally, and acquainting the youth with cultural heritage was the government’s priority.

television is the best way to implement language in a child and teach him or her things

Kids learn through watching cartoon. In canada, they had PBS kids where kids not only enjoyed those cartoons but also learn langauge and basic stuff like looking right and left crossing road and not sharing their water glass with others.

A problem in Pakistan is, parents dont want their kids to be mannerful and would rather have them raised as batameez as being mannerful is called burger. This term is also used by posters here aswell.

The term 'burger' is generally used for those who live in a bubble and are out of sync with reality. They mainly reside in certain posh sectors of Islamabad, DHAs and Bahria towns of Islu, Lahore and Karachi.

It has nothing to do with tameez. For instance, Babar Azam is a tameezdar person yet not a burger.

let me tell you there are many who live in the mohallas who are out of sync with reality. Infact, whenever these people who live in reality have to do kaghazi kaam they either have to pay a stamp vendor extra money or get one of their relatives from the certain so called posh areas to do it for them.

The burger term is used for anyone who is not street smart. If you act street smart, cunning, and cheat people you will be praised. If you dont do those things you get called burger.

I have socialized with people belonging from both sides of the city, the posh area and the mohallas aswell.

Mummy daddy is another term that these lot use. Thats used when kids or people in general hate seeing parents help their kids like dropping them off somewhere etc.

Looks like both the Indian and Pakistani governments have it in for Bollywood these days.

You have every right to look down upon mohallay wallay and call them cheats just as they have the right to call you burger and mummy daddy.

One can never control the perception of other people regarding yourself so it's better not to get offended by such terms.
