I think that day is coming very soon and it should be a matter of great concern for the PCB as that will also mean that the teams will overtake (Bangladesh already have) us in the team ranking also.

Why is it of great concern?
Shows that we are progressing slower than the teams that we have had a head start on. We are rolling backwards.
Bangladesh already has players ranked above Pakistan in the bowling and all-rounder rankings. And also it is a joke that Babar Azam is ranked ahead of Tamim Iqbal in the batting rankings.
Unless the domestic system is revamped pakistan cricket will fade away.

And also most importantly the Bangladesh TEAM is ranked two places ahead of Pakistan which so many people on this forum seem to forget.
The same domestic structure has produced Hasan, Shadab, Babar, Sharjeel, Fakhar, Fahim and Imad in the last 2 years alone. It is a easy cop out to blame the domestic structure.
I think bigger culprit is the team selection and captaincy. Put players like Azhar, Hafeez and Shehzad even in India's team and watch how their performance plummet.
that's a lot of untested players you are using to validate the domestic system. ppl think revamp is massive changes. its not.
some of it is pretty simple:
- stop playing odi tournaments in the north of the country in winter
- dont select players basis aggregates, but rather consistency of strike rates through their innings.
- get some grass on the ground so that the point fielders start diving
Even babar isnt that good and fakhar is untested , ya selection is one of the problems but bigger problem is domestic system. The same domestic structure has produced Hasan, Shadab, Babar, Sharjeel, Fakhar, Fahim and Imad in the last 2 years alone. Only in ODIs, the way BD fans crow on and on about rankings you'd think they're 50 points ahead of us.![]()
