What's new

Does Pakistan still produce faster pace bowlers than India?

only in t20 though.

not in tests.

Australia, india faster than pakistan and England in tests.

come back to me when england bowls 20 plus overs in australia in the baking sun at 140 plus. pakistam with naseem did but he averages 140. shaheen 139. on par with jassy and shami based on the tour of 2018 vs australia.

Naseem averaged like 143 in Australia.

No. 140 or 141 max.

not 143. and that was like only one test. did he break down in the next one or was he injured? unless misbah wanted to rest him.

shaheen was 139.

archer literally dies after one test match. that dude will be done soon in terms of pace.

Nasim averaged 143 in Australia 141 in rawalpindi 142 in karachi first inning and 140.7 in second inning

AND Hasan quicker than yadav and ishant

Shami and Ishant have been around for donkey!s years.Pakistan bowlers are young and inexperienced. In a couple of years they will become very good fast bowlers provided they remain fit

hasan is not even quicker than shardul thakur.

well if you can tell me last test when yadav and ishant were clocked at 90mph hasan was clocked at 144.8 kph in his last test in sa and was clocked above 146 kph multiple times in tests vs nz in uae which were his second and thirdlast test matches

I watched Naseem bowling against Australia. He was the quickest bowler on show. This is the reason the commentators and ex Australian cricketers got very excited. He has a lot of potential. He is not the finished product yet.

hasan is ****, mediocre and slow. His average speed is like 130s now. yadav bowls 138-139 on average. I am sure his average speed in the south africa and Bangladesh series would be around there. He can clock it up to 150 if he wants to.

lol even comparing pakistani pacers with indian trundlers is blasphemy. india and fast balling are two differnt things

Indian pacers are best in the world. watch the australia vs india series. Who bowled the fastest ball? Who? yea that's what I thought. a guy called bumrah.

come back o me when your bowlers can bowl at 140 plus consistently in the baking sun.

he was not and never was the quickest. it was always starc.

starc then naseem and cummins. then shaheen.

starc was 143 on average.

naseem was 140-141.

You are wrong Naseem was quickest on average in first test (143 kph). Someone posted a graphic too

And that graphic is at the end of his spell

Hasan is not mediocre. He has decent skills

He bowls in late 130s to early 140s. Yes last year he wasn’t at his best but he has basic skills like good seam position, enough pace and a good action. He is young and he can make a decent comeback

Just for instance ishant had several bad years in his career, he made a comeback because basics were strong. Hasan can do the same if he has desire and works hard

hasan needs to work on his strength and conditioning. he is too physically weak and brittle.

looks at ishabt's physique in 2014 and compare it to now. he used to weigh 75 or 78 kilos at 195 cm. that's under weight for that height.

Now he weighs 90 kg-95 and he is lean.

hasan can come back but he will never be the same fast bowler he was. He can still operate at early 130s and be effective in swing conditions I guess. Althought teams have figured him out. he has to reinvent himself. I don't see the drive in him.

pakistan don't even need him. naseem, shaheen, husnain, sameen are the future.

I am not sure which Hasan are you talking about because it surely doesnt like like Hasan Ali kind of characteristics you have mentioned.

He is pretty fit and athletic, i would love to see the pictures which you have seen. He has lean muscular body which is as good as any pacer in sub continent.

Early 130s! Again if its the same Hasan then we must be lookinf at different speed guns as even in tests he was high 130s to early 140s and I have seen him touching 146-147 kph in LOIs.

His bowling average is in 20s across the formats and even when he was struggling he still bowled well in tests and T20s that year and stats can be seen. Its the problem with many to confuse poor performance in one format with others.

Someone literally posted a picture showing he averaged 143.1 kph at the end of his total overs in Australia, yet you think you know more than the photographic evidence. Nice.

sir please if you provide any video of post 2018 yadav clocking 150kph in international match

i have provided you evidence and he was fastest bowler from both sides in that particular match and talking of cummins and hazlewood shaheen was bowling as fast as cummins and faster than hazlewood

he is lean but he can still be physically weak you know. lean doesn't mean squat if you lack strength.

strength and conditioning is a totally different animal to being muscular and lean. You can be muscular and still lack strength and power to utilize your strength.

more muscle mass also means your cardio will be affected. you need to build a physique that allows you be as strong as possible whilst simultaneously nothing your elite cardio level. balance is key.

hasan lacks the balance.

you have seen him clock speeds of that sort in the past yes. I have. he doesn't anymore. He trundlers a fair bit now

He operates at around 132-136 from what I last recall in u.a.e. Talking about test matches only. don't care about odi and t20.

he has no future in odi or t20 anymore.

naseem, shaheen, husnain, rauf are all above and better. pakistan don't even need him anyway.

in test matches I would still go with naseem, shaheen and gul instead. husnain isn't suited for tests yet. shinwari back up. maybe hasan if he finds the drive to succeed again. I don't see that fire in him though.

Again not sure what speeds were you watching. As Kingpin786 has mentioned he clocked 91 mph in UAE vs NZ in tests and was regularly operating in early 140 kph. I don’t exactly know what you have seen, kindly share the pics or stats.

Regarding Hasan’s muscle, its lean muscle mass which doesnt effect any sort of cardio. Weakness or strength inside one’s body I cant tell that by looking at someone.

Hasan is very much part lf Pak’s plan, when he shows complete fitness and some form. Yes there is competition but when Hasan is fit and in rhythm you will be seeing him in Pak colours.

eh? danyaal? he reckons this was at the end of a spell? it says 19.3 overs anyway.

just three balls left as just three bowls dont affect average speed but i hope you to be more precise and tell average speeds of your bowlers against nz

At present there is no difference in terms of pace. Both countries have couple of bowlers which can clock 145+.
Currently both teams lack a true express bowler. India so far has not produced 155+K bowler. Last Pakistani bowler to do so was Akhtar. I believe Waqar at his peak was nearly there. Sami at his peak was quite quick too. I have heard stories about Zahid but he had very short career, so he barely counts.

I find it hard to believe Ishant Sharma weighs 90-95 kg. Do you realize what you are talking about here?

yes well said but one thing i want to add guys like hasnain and naseem are still very young so there is a chance that these two may develop int o 155kph+ pacers

Well with Naseem and Hasnain around now and Rauf on the scene, the gap may close.

Speed wise yes.. skill wise well the new talent from Pakistan is young and full of potential...they need to seen over time

I played football in australia at state level and cricket at a pretty high regional level. I have boxing experience too so I am pretty sure I know a fair bit of about strength and conditioning.

You do realize he is 195 cm. It's not hard to imagine him weighing 90-95 kilos especially now that he has bulked.

for me 2018 was only year when indian bowlers were quicker australian tour inflated their speeds as i have never seen or heard bumrah clocking 150 in international cricket either before or after that tour besides we had bowlers from 2010 to 2018 like fit amir umar gul mohammad irfan peak junaid khan mohammad talha and bilawal bhatti these all could bowl 145+ and wahab is quickest bowler of last dacade from sc and now we have naseem shaheen rauf hasnain musa hasan ali salman irshad akif javed and many more to come from u19 cricket

bumrah can turn it up when he wants to.
shami can bowl 140 plus easily for 20 overs and did so vs south africa and australia.

pakistan have many bowlers in domestics who can touch 145 plus. so does india. neither can do it for long periods in tests yet. So we have to wait and see.

varun aaron is quicker than wahab but he is ****. So no one counts him. Doesn't mean he isn't fast though.

india have nagarkoti who clocked 145 plus in under 19, mavi can clock 145 plus. ankit rajpoot has hit 145 plus. prasidh krishna 145 plus. nathu singh 145 plus.

not many can sustain that speed over 20 overs though. it's just not practical.

naseem did it for 2 tests. he just started. shaheen again is new so it's expected. he goes 139 on average.

the only reason starc even bowls 140 plus is because he gets the most rest our of all the bowlers. he barely plays bilaterals, t20 bilaterals, hell even t20 in general etc.

With the amount of workload involved in the modern era, speeds over140 plus is not sustainable over long periods. That's the truth.

india have plenty of fast bowlers. pakistan have plenty of fast bowlers. Right now both countries have bowlers capable of clocking 145 plus easily. in terms of average speed they are all similar. wahab would be the fastest but he is a **** bowler so....

Most of things you said are true but how aron is quicker than wahab

dude Aaron maybe a trash bowler but he is genuinely quick on dead wickets in india. he bowls 145 plus consistently.

dude i mean provide some data his such as fastest ball in international cricket etc as wahab has clocked 95mph mark multiple times and more than yadav bumrah aron combined

No bumrah ,shami, yadav in the list

congratulations.

where is the actual link? Cummins being there is laughable. Tino best lol. is this one pulled out of someone's butt? who is this analyst? how many games did they all play and how many of them play all formats for their country plus franchise leagues? Some spend more time in the hospital bend with ample of recovery time which allows them to bowl at pace for longer periods. Like starc who was rested quite often for bilaterals, t20s etc.

Tino Best was always very quick.

So you mean injuries help you bowl quicker? So Bumrah should have been quicker after few months in hospital?

this is from cricviz Q&A on twitter wahab plays all the formats and he is
fastester than any indian bowler besides idont know why you hate cummins
he was consistantly faster than bumrah in last 2 odi series they played together even in tests when he toured india in 2017 he was faster than any indian bowler bumrah real quick just for one test series vs australia actually bumrah is more of 135to145kph bowler with average speed around 135 to138 kph who some times can crank it up to 148_149kph

No auto correct messed up what I was saying. I meant players like starc are rested for pretty much all pointless games like bilaterals, he doesn't play Asia cups, no t20 games, sometimes no franchise games either. He is allowed full access to explode in big tournaments and test matches plus with Australia's rotation policy he gets enough recovery time to maintain speeds for long periods.

Aaron is faster than almost all bowlers in that list but he is trash so I don't count him.

bumrah before injury was quicker than all aussie bowlers in that tour. Shami was as quick if not quicker than cummins in that series as well.

Not just for that one series vs australia. he was fast vs south africa and England as well in 2018.

Where is mark wood?

Prove that aaron has bowled faster than stark or wahab ,shami barely bowls faster than 146kph wood had less perecentage 140kph deliveries than mentioned bowlers so he is not in the list

Another thing i forgot to mentioned in wc 2015 qf vs aus wahab maintained 145+ average speed for 9 overa and aaron mantained 145+ average speed in the grahich that you mentioned for just 4.1 overs

All the arguments are irrelevant as long as Pakistan don't produce a fast bowler with over 200 test wickets. It takes about 50 test to reach that mark. If you can't persist till even that, your legacy is irrelevant in today's era let alone being considered among great fast bowlers.

Well that is a different topic and several reasons have resulted above mentioned

along stark wahab is the only bowler who clocked 150kph inall types of conditions while playing all three formats for examplr he clocked 150 in sa,australia.england, pakistan, india, bangladesh, uae, westindies etc there is no doubt aaron is fast but if you say he is quicker than stark, ferguson or wahab then you should prove it

Yes.
We had a brief period where we didn't but know we're well ahead in terms of speed

obviously is that even a question? wahab at 34 is still faster than all Indian pacers let alone those young pacers.naseem is already the fastest pacer in Asia in tests.India is country of trundlers and what do the Indians know about fast bowling.India can never produce fast bowler.

lol....right. Keep deluding yourself buddy. let's see how long naseem lasts first. if he has gujjar genes then I expect him to break down rather soon.

The only difference is that India have started producing fast bowlers now and that should not surprise any one at all. They have all the facilities to develop the bowlers and just because of sheer Numbers of bowlers available combined with improved interest this was bound to happen. It would in fact have been embarrasing if they didn’t produce after so much effort they have put in last 10-15 years.

Pakistan on other hand have a tradition of producing express bowlers and after a halt things are getting back to normal again.

But for both countries you need to have fast bowlers who bowl fast for 7-10 years in international cricket. In that category so far there has been no competition. But if Bumrah and co can bowl quick for another 5-6 years then things might change.
Hey guys
wow its been a while since I last visited this site and its bringing back a lot of memories.Probably last I was here was back during the 2015 wc debating with indian posters over who was faster, wahab or umesh? and then the watto spell happened.:salute
bit of a rant but bear with me.I have not followed cricket post that wc with the same zeal for a number of reasons apart from following pak cricket and watching most matches live since highlights still suck in cricket and never relay the actual story of the match.
Coming back to what was being discussed here my take on the matter is that currently the indian pace trio is more accomplished(yes it hurts) skills wise but with cricket finally returning back home(good riddance the dubai pitch) plus the PSL developing into probably the second biggest league after the IPL its only gonna be a couple of years before the Pak fast bowlers > Indian fast(Yes this time for real) bowlers equation is true again with the talent we have coming up.
On the pace Q bowlers that I can think of rn that can bowl 145+ are
Wahab,Haris,Naseem,Hasnain,Shaheen,Musa,Sameen and Hassan. Dilbar might I add with a 6 step run up,Salman Irshad and Aqif also get added to the list. Also if one were to believe Aqib Javed's claims since Qalandars have the best talent hunt/player dev programme in the PSL there might be a couple of others in the line as well.(Considering I've seen a time where Anwar Ali was opening with the new ball this is amazing)
Finally coming to my query from the Indian posters here I've followed the Indian pacers rise till like 2016 but post that apart from the IPL and u19 ones that im looking up(Saini looks good and incidently the reason I discovered this thread ) could you tell me about the upcoming 145 kph pacers coming up in the Indian domestic circuit like Ranji or even some new talent spotted.
PS Let me end with this, even today with Wahab (156) and Hasnain(155) or avg speed wise Naseem are faster than the fastest indian bowlers on show. :akhtar

:akhtar
