What's new

England (170/2) thrash Pakistan (169/6) by 8 wickets in the 6th T20I in Lahore

Good reality check today, hope they all hang their heads in shame.

169 was a decent score. Was expecting a much closer game then England come out to wallop our bowlers to all parts. We didn't get the early wickets needed to put England under pressure. Likes of Haider and Shaan continue to let the team down every time they bat. What a waste of space these two are.

I think the dew had a bigger say today, Bowl was nicely coming on to the bat in the 2nd half.

Toss will be crucial in the decider.

Pak has played with backup bowling throughout this series and Eng couldnt really dominate until Salt clicking today

Eng also missing first choice players like Butler,Livingstone, Roy, Bairstow, Stocks, Archer etc

Toothless performance particularly with the ball.

Seemed like the Pakistani bowlers gave up after a couple of overs.

The bowlers can’t get you out of jail every time. You can’t always target setting middling and low par totals and expect the bowlers to defend it every game.

We lost the match as soon as babar said 160 is a good total.

We have no strategy for aiming for setting 200+

As I’ve said multiple times - this series we should have experimented more with the batting order. But all we’re interested in is shouting about how great babar and Riz are

We defended a lower one 2 days before that.

Seems we have this expectation that whatever the pitch, batters will score 300+

When a captain puts unrealistic expectations, you end up lost 6 wickets for 45.

Babar knew the limitations of losing the toss and he set the right expectation.

"The first six overs made the difference, the way they utilised them. The ball became wet because of dew and the spinners and fast bowlers found it tough to grip it. In the second innings, the ball also came on nicely to the bat when there was dew. The ball became soggy and it became tough for bowlers. But credit should go to Salt and Hales for giving England momentum with a fast start,”

"As a team, such situations will come and you will have to face them. We played previous matches and won and shouldn’t lose our confidence. At the end of the day, you have to talk and discuss about mistakes so that you don’t repeat them in the next match,”

Dhani has been a real dissapointment. He has not looked threatening with the ball at all even in the Holland series, Asia Cup and now the England T20 series.

Should be sent back to domestics like Hasan Ali to figure out his issues.

You can't expect bowlers to bail you out for pathetic batting display all the time, they got some
support on those surfaces this was a belter, Babar having loads of experience should have known
in the 4th over itself when he creamed those lovely boundaries, not seen him time this well for long

minimum par score was 200, 2nd when England lost Hales to Shahdab he should have just bowled spinners in PP but he didn't. There are teams who are at the top because they look at Power play batting
differently who will never be content scoring 50 of 41 balls with only 2 or 3 wicket down

Babar post game comments:

Babar Azam "our middle-order needs to step up. We keep saying we should show some responsibility. As a team you need to build partnerships when back-to-back wickets have fallen and when the pressure is on"

Moeen Ali:

Moeen Ali "Hopefully it will be another good game on Sunday. It's 3-3 which is great for the series. It's been a brilliant series so far. We are hoping for an exciting last game in the series"

Lol he is the one who selects bits and pieces instead of proper batsmen and now complaint. Hilarious!!
