West Indies won the toss and elected to field

Hales has now basically locked Billings out of the England champions trophy XI now barring any injuries.

West Indies managing to pull things back.

Intelligent changes of pace from Alzarri Joseph who's picked up 4 wickets.

Judging by how England are going here, looks like Pak. will struggle to get 300 once in the series. I am realistically hoping for a 2-1 win for us.

Holder's captaincy has been disappointing. Puts England into bat and they score 328.

Bishoo was terrible, bowled with little control and has had a poor series. Carlos Brathwaite offered little threat with the ball.

WI facing an ODI whitewash vs England for the first time since 1991.

England should win CT easily. So much batting power

Was listening to Tino Best on commentary earlier and he said something like "take nothing away from from the boys who are out there just now, they are as talented as any other side in the world but they just lack confidence".

They certainly don't bat like there's any talent out there.

Couldn't make it up, Stokes gets Brathwaite plumb with an absolute beauty of a ball that happened to be his first ball bowled to him since the wt20.

Brathwaite is an A-Grade hack who got lucky in that WT20 finals. Hasn't seen him play 1 good innings after that.

Garbage Player.

Sammy not impressed.

When will WICB realize like good boys like Jason Holder are not good captains. We had a good boy of our own and thankfully we replaced him.

I swear to god we need to be beating these next month.

We have never ever gotten a better chance to beat the West Indies in the Carribean than this.

An absolute thrashing for WI. Pakistan really needs to make use of this opportunity and increase the point margin between the two sides.

That was too easy ..Simply no match to this England side.

Root joins Pietersen and Morgan with most hundreds for England in ODIs (9). Expecting him to score around 20-25 hundreds, his conversion rate in this format has been pretty decent.

Who cares about these stats, he is not half the player KP was and Morgan is far far better then that little boy.

Easy win for England. Far too good for this pathetic outfit. No way should we be losing to this side.

lol.. Root is arguably their best batter atm. KP on his peek was maybe yes better. but Morgan is no way better than Root.

Pietersen was simply ahead of his time but had he played for England now, he wouldn't have stood out in ODIs like he did in his era. England were a poor ODI side when he was in his peak and he was the only quality player. Similarly, when Morgan first burst onto the scene in 2009, him and Pietersen were the only two dynamic batsmen, so they looked better than they were.

Peak Pietersen would easily make the current ODI team, but he won't be a standout player because of the presence of players like Root, Hales, Roy, Buttler, Stokes etc.

a moment of silence for people who thought WI will overtake Pakistan in the rankings, and Pakistan will play Nepal and Scotland etc.

Wow I can't believe this, are you guys seriously suggesting KP is better then Root? even KP non peak 10x better then Root.

Also, has root single handedly ever won England an ICC title? I'll give you this perhaps, Root is arguably better slightly then Morgan at the Test level though. Morgan career was ended by a chucker, people overly judge him based on that series vs pak in the uae when in reality the man is a highly valued batsman for any test line up in the world down the order

I still can't tell if you're trying to be sarcastic or not, can I get an answer? :jimmy

Don't assume too much. England is good at ODIs, last time we played them they sent us packing 4-1. Pakistan is not good at ODIs, although in fairness the last time we went to WI we beat them in a thrilling series.

Joseph and Gabriel are good bowlers, if the batting doesn't have its head on straight we will lose to WI.

you are fearing this WI ODI team? they'll get whitewashed by Pak most likely

I am being cautious. Pakistan has not shown that they are a good ODI team either. People who think we're going to just roll them over easily are ignoring our own deficiencies.

England with a total young team with only Morgan and Plunkett over 30. Not to mention they are the best ODI team in the world atm.

Then you have Pakistan where Inzi the revolutionary will be selecting K. Akmal, Hafeez, Malik, Wahab, Azhar, Tanvir and Sohail. All over 30. And Pak. is ranked 8th.

a team with Umar Akmal is bound to fail, look at Lahore Qalanders

PCB is the only cricket board that allows overweight players to get selected for the national side. Even minnows like WI and SL don't allow guys like Rakheem Cornwell or Tisara Perera to make their teams due to pot bellies.

if Rahkeem Cornwall was a Pakistani, he would be the first name in all formats, because Inzamam give zero importance to fitness
