Early start so SAF will try to chase again. Also may be hoping for some morning swing, but these white Kookaburras offer very little.

Jason has struggled against kagiso so far.He he scores a fifty at least

Brilliant bowled kagiso.Hard luck jason wanted him to score some runs

Turning out to be a decent contest. SA managing to control the rate in the last five overs. Maharaj caused the two left handers a bit of trouble.

Bowl short, pull through midwicket, repeat. Terrible over.

South Africa are usually a good fielding outfit but they've been quite sloppy today with drops and misfields.

Another tough chase beckons.

England can recover from almost any position :)) what a powerful batting line up, great partnership between Butler and Mo there at the end to take the innings past 300

Will Stokes have a bowl? not sure if it's wise prior to the CT

England batting depth is just unreal at this point

Wow

English crowds are always so quiet, or is it just the way they mix the sound?

Yeah always quite and boring. Doesnt even feel like a match is on.

Bunch of robots without any expression. The Football Fans from England are the opposite and always keep the atmosphere alive.

Playing Cricket in England is equivalent to playing inside an empty stadium for most part of the match.

Accumulating is very easy, there is nothing to be afraid of coming at 3 or 4 . AB is just doing it with ease, but he has always chosen to come in critical junctures when the odds are heavily titled in favor of failure than success. But if AB starts coming permanently at top of the order then he can easily milk around hundreds for fun while batting in the middle overs.

damn Roy and Hales both failed and England still score 300+

Its mainly the middle classes that follow cricket in the UK, whereas the more boisterous working classes follow football. British people in general though are just more reserved, less expressive of their emotions, and less nationalistic. Its a cultural difference if anything.

They're probably busy chatting to their mates, having a few drinks and relaxing on a Saturday afternoon.

Plus this series is a glorified warmup for the CT - if its an Ashes Test or LOI then it gets much rowdier.

I still have memories the the old Morris car

The car would only run with the choke activated

What a choke from Morris in the 50th over

When you need 9 runs in 9 balls with a set batsman still on the crease, there is no excuse for such pathetic performance!

Well, RSA, Pakistan and Bangladesh played like they always do. No surprises there. England has been brilliant off late.

This was a deliberate decision.

As far as I know there's only way to get good at something...

Yeah but not so close to the CT. Your team will be low on confidence now on entering the CT. Also it would have been nice to see what your bowling attack can defend

One more match to go. Might pull off another 400+ chase then, you just never know with this team.

Not an ideal situation be in, I agree. Why is Behardien there though?

THE Standard Bank Proteas winning run in ODI Series came to an end at Southampton on Saturday when they went down by two runs to England in the second of three ODIs. The result gives England a 2-0 series lead with only the final match at Lord’s on Monday still to be played.

The Proteas led throughout the match on comparative run rate, having been set 331 for victory, until the fourth ball of the last over. David Miller and Chris Morris needed 7 off the last over from Mark Wood to clinch victory but only managed 4 runs. Miller finished unbeaten on 71 (51 balls, 5 fours and 2 sixes) and Morris on 36 (22 balls, 3 fours and 2 sixes) as the pair shared a partnership of 62 for the sixth wicket in 6.3 overs.

It was a much improved Proteas performance from the first match with a well-paced runs chase until the final over.

England’s victory was set up by Ben Stokes who scored his second career international century in this format (101 off 79 balls, 11 fours and 3 sixes) and the renowned finishing power of Jos Buttler (65 not out off 53 balls, 7 fours). But the Proteas were left to rue a number of errors in the field, notably a couple of lives that were given to Stokes before he had put a run on the board.

The Proteas reply was set up by Quinton de Kock (98 off 103 balls, 11 fours) with the main support coming from AB de Villiers (52 off 50 balls, 6 fours) and then the final onslaught by Miller and Morris.

Kagiso Rabada was the pick of the South African attack and there was an excellent debut by Keshav Maharaj – the 120th player to represent the Proteas in this format – whose performance was far better than his figures suggest and was the main sufferer from the errors in the field.

He took the place of Imran Tahir in one of three changes to the South African side as they rotated their squad. Farhaan Behardien played in place of JP Duminy and Dwaine Pretorius took the place of Wayne Parnell.

Morne Morkel is the only squad member still to play and he is expected to play in the final match on Monday.

Cannot believe SA didn't win. Utterly baffling.

The stats were all in their favour too.

Real tournament Hasn't even started. Can't imagine what will happen in the main event. :))) :)))

How did SA lose this? :)))

Wood bowled well all day though. Well done to him.
Surprisingly calm after your side loses another match they should have won.. What are they going to do when the pressure is on? Mentally disintegrate.... only a few things are worse in sport than mental midgets...

The best thing out of the draw is that if we make it past the group stage, we have a good chance of getting a free pass to the final :ab

Pretty usual stuffs.

They got two great strikers and yet they cant chase 7 runs in last over.

Wonderful death bowling from Wood. So pleased for him. Just shows the value of proper pace in the short game.

I'm more worried about our rugby to be honest. If the cricket team fails completely in the CT I might be done with cricket for a while. I did it with rugby and cricket in 2003, I can do it again.

Stokes, Ali and Woakes replaces in the squad for tomorrow by Dawson, Roland Jones and Finn. Slightly concerning.
