England [386/6] defeat Bangladesh [280] by 106 runs in the 12th match of the 2019 World Cup

Dont remember last time I have seen an opening spell form a pacer with so many 150+ deliveries. It might have been Akhtar or Lee before this.

Starc bowled at 150kph in the last match.

Brilliant to watch Archer swarming all over the batters.

I would be glad if Pakistan can snatch him. Class bowler.

But Pakistan mein bahut talent hai bhaisab.

In BD case. No if’s or buts I’d take him in without a 2nd thought. Give him BD citizenship, play in domestic, BPL, give a flat in Dhaka. Then in 2023 BD will be one of the favourites. Lets face it Nepal won’t make it to 2023 WC either.

Rubel is a must on belters like this. Fizz is struggling

Fizz was really good against SA and was decent against NZ as well, today his figures arent that good but then Eng batting lineup is also unbelievably strong. Fizz to me is looking really good, his pace is back in the late 130s early 140s and that makes his cutters even more effective. Any bowler can have an off day, while Saifuddin has been bowling decently too I think him and Mortaza dont offer much different to each other. It would be a tough call and harsh on Saif but I think Rubel should be brought back in for the next match as he will give more variety to the attack.

Never rated Tamim in ODIs - very selfish batsman. Yet some think he would walk into Pakistan's team.

I would take "hack" Fakhar any day of the week over him.

To me, Rubel should replace Mithun. Saif shall offer same as Mithun with the bat as he is a decent batter.

Poor field placing by Root. Allowing opposition batsmen to take easy single.

I love what New Zealand has done for their team. They hired Shane Bond. They could have just gone with Craig McMillain, their current batting coach as bowling coach, who also used to bowl slow medium pace bowling. But they wanted their A game for their bowling and they got it. Before that, they had bowlers like kyle mills, who were just average. Now, their bowlers are pretty lethal with new ball.

Waqar was a really good bowling coach, I think him, Shoaib or Bond can be really good. Even Mohammad Akram was miles better than what Azhar has done to the development of these bowlers. Mohammad Akram is one of the reason Hasan looks so good in PSL.

Liton Das only BD opener I’ve noticed goes like how Sanath, Used to go against Pace. Hard and over! He knows there’s pace to work with a good connection

Shakib will be a strong contender for a man of the tournament if he plays like this

England have two 150kph bowler now. I can see how ecb was desperate to bring Archer in.

Tamim is out. Fat useless player with a pathetic WC record but he won’t be dropped because his uncle is some bigshot at bcb now

Tamim hasnt clicked at all till now in this WC. He is a game changer on his day but not sure if its the pressure of the stage or he is just out of form as he is struggling to hit the ball well and even to rotate the strike.

The only bd batsmen i love to watch .so far this guy have massively under achieved

Spot on. Mohammad Akram helped Hassan a lot. You can clearly see Hassan is out of sorts and doesn't have someone advising him as he tries different things and have become ineffective after PSL

See the way he got out. Makes no sense, after using some a lot of balls, having a goos look at the wicket. Then chose the wrong shot against the wrong ball.

Mentality is weak.

Would like to echo this once again.

19(29) is a garbage innings whichever way you look at it

Would like to echo this once again.

"hack" Fakhar would never play a selfish innings of 19(29) when chasing 380 odd, plus he wouldn't be cowering against express pace. So "hack" Fakhar any day of the week against ATG Tamim.

Ball from Archer to Sarkar had so much velocity that after hitting the stumps ball went straight over the boundary. Have never seen anything like that.

Archer's pace was so much that after hitting the wickets, the ball went for six

Trying to think where BD will get the power from without Das and Sabbir. Sarkar didnt click today, Mossadekk hit that 20 ball 50 and now seems irreplaceable, Mahmudullah can’t always bail you out. Batting lacks power without the missing two I mentioned.

Indeed, it was some shocking insight fed to us in the last 12 - 18 months by some notable Bangla, Indian and so-called purists lol.

Bangladesh have given up on this chase already. Looks like they will settle for a 300+ score to minimise net run rate damage.

Walsh is a legendary bowler but worse bowling coach in the world. He is earninf 20k+ a month doing nothing to improve BD pacers. In contrast, have a look at how good BD pacers were under Heath Streak. BCB need to bring Heath back!

The way England are bowling in this worldcup i can safely say pakistan batsmen were outstanding in eng series to put a great score against wood, archer and Plunkett, rasheed.only if bowlers were not that much toothless we could have easily won 2 matches out of 4

The intent from Bangladesh hasnt been good since the start.
It never seems like they came out to win. They need to be more attacking.

None of the bd openers went berserk today. Batted like chickens. If you’re going to do down, go down with a fight. Needed a flying start to lift the mood around!

WTH they’re playing a Bengali film song. Why not that song Jole Uto Bangladesh. Which might fire them up a bit

Really dont understand wat bangla r doing here. With RR climbing to over 9 an over. You rather go for it than playing out over for singles

Brilliant analysis again by Nasser Hussain. Since Wood has release points away from stumps, he doesn't get much lbws and often pitches the ball outside which hits pads, as opposed to archer. Which also affects his effectiveness as wicket taker. A very close resemblance to what the issue with Amir. His release points. He bowls too leg sidish because he has been releasing away from stumps. yellow is archer, red is wood

Tamim is just hanging there in the team. He is totally out of form. Need to replace him with Liton

In defeat we can look back and see where we have messed up.

Mahmudullah should have been a permanent spot in top 4 after 2 world cup centuries in 2015. Instead we have given him the role of "finisher". One of your key batsman scores century in Australian grounds against the likes of New Zealand and England, and you give him a position below Mithun? Pathetic.

Sabbir should have been over Mosaddek. Everyone knew it till that match against West Indies. One match changed four years of planning.... Amazing.

Liton Das in place of Mithun. Liton has been batting really well. Also has an ODI hundred albeit in a losing cause. He and Soumya in the batting line up is what would make us an actual dark horse of the tournament.

Well all said and done....we need to keep our heads high and keep fighting.

Is this practice for Bangladesh, what are they doing, go for it, show heart, you lose you lose.

Come on Bangladesh..

BD is good enough to chase totals like 275 against most teams. This is why they should always try to bat first. Chasing pressure will add 20 runs more.

Yeah brilliant analysis from nasser.Sums up difference between archer and wood perfectly

Even if target was 286 BD are still behind the pace.... come on you have come to win WC cannot win it with this minnow mentality. Atleast give it a try, better to have tried and lost rather than never tried at all.

Runrate have reached 10 a over .when those 2 guys meet at crease it was in mid 8 rpo

Selfish batting from both players

If the BD openers gave good start it would’ve given more confidence to the rest. Openers looked to negative and playing slow. Needed 80 off 10ov.

It's smart batting. They are protecting their NRR, knowing fine well they aren't going to win anyway. Not very exciting perhaps, but will keep them in the mix for semi final spots however unlikely.

This is what happens when you play 11 batsmen.... your bowling isn't even capable of dismissing minnow batsmen.
