I haven't followed English FC domestic for a while but is this the best they have or are they still trying to batdeep and hence why playing Woakes, Carse etc as they are handy with the bat too ( on paper)

Indian bowlers deserve a lot of credit. They really come out on top even on phattas whereas bowlers in teams like Pakistan and even England become cannon fodder and struggle for ideas.

Bumrah aside the way Akash and Siraj have bowled well in sudden bursts that have turned the game should be applauded. It would be easy for these lesser bowlers to throw in the towel blaming the pitch but they continue to give it their all.

They have my respect.

One thing I have noticed about India's pacers is how intelligently they use the crease, they know when to go wide off the stumps and when to get close to the stumps. Their bowling IQ and knowledge on how to set the batsman up with regards to the plan they have against them is special.

In comparison you will see Shaheen bowl 6 consecutive inswinging yorkers or Naseem bowl 5-6 consecutive outswingers outside off stump operating on hope and luck rather than properly assessing what the situation demands or how the batters are batting. There is a clear work ethic, wanting to properly apply yourself issue and a sense of entitlement from the PCB's lack of competition to the players.
 
Another turning point India handed over to England like they have been doing all series. India has absolutely dominated England bowling. But somehow gifted wickets from time to time

Do you remember an ODI game where Dravid was in full flow and Ganguly's hundred was nearing and he actually asked Dravid to slow down. Messed up the tempo, Dravid got out and India almost lost the game.
 
Pant with another solid innings, he was struggling out there with the injured finger. Crucial moment in the game now, Indians need to out together another 100 runs atleast..

In a way I think Pant getting out is a good thing he was really struggling out there with his finger, the more he is out there the more he was going to injur that bruised finger, might have lost him for a few matches worst case scenario...
 
Only way that partnership would have broken by Run out as England bowler's were looking toothless. Not after this wickets they can trouble the Indian lower order. We missed the golden apportunity . :kp

Rahul and Pant had short vision (century)... The longer goal should have been staying till the new ball (these two had they stayed till new ball - they would have dictacted terms to England). Now they have played right into the hands of England... Even getting to 350 is difficult from here...

Easily we would have crossed 500, if they had battled sensibly! Pant would have taken on Bashir after lunch, and new ball would have carried the momentum... England would have continued to remain on backfoot... Bowlers on top now as new ball can be deadly against later order batsmen & tail!

Why they are running as if they are playing ODIs / T20s? Who is forcing for maintaining Run Rate and rotating strike?
(And they will do the reverse in actual LOI games when fielders are bit deep and there's chance for this quick running!)
