What's new

England beat Pakistan by 330 runs in the 2nd Test

That's how Moeen got most of his wickets against us. Don't be over aggressive

If Hafeez gets to his fifty, then he will get confidence and may even score a big ton. Prof is a confidence player and when he is feeling confident he is one of the best bats we have got

Damn 65 overs remaining still.. I thought it would have been around 50

Get to the second new ball with these two and then game on

Waisay the rate at which we're going is on track to be honest.

We're going at 3.3 after 23.

If we manage to do the latter for the 185 overs we'll be in the field we'll practically get 610 :inzi

There's really no need to be smacking Moeen Ali for sixes when you're batting for a draw. With Stokes out Pakistan have a better opportunity since England now only have three strike bowlers plus one who pretty much only takes wickets from batsmen being too aggressive. See off the quicks and play along the ground against Moeen, and maybe with the odd rain spell thrown in to help Pakistan might escape with a draw.

Game within the game, England allowing these 2 to score, so they dont get dropped. Its a Kaanspiracy:yk2

any chance of a draw

these 2 would have to bat all day today

YK needs a big hundred too

At what indivisual score Younis Khan was dropped ?

We should drag this match to Day 5 because there is forecast for Rain tommorow.

Who said we're batting for a draw? :rp

Without Stokes, England's chances of winning this series comfortably have diminished.

They have to bring back Finn or some other all rounder. Just throws the team balance off.

I dont know why PP is giving me a brighter picture than the real events on the ground ..

There is no way this match would result in any other way than a England victory .

Well done Beard. Lovely piece of turn. Get a silly point in for Misbah.

One thing I admire about YK is the fact that he's an absolute fighter.... Love that about him. He might not have the technique of a Shafiq or the flow of any of the greats from yesteryear but his grit and determination is up there with the very best.

Doesn't throw in the towel without giving a proper fight and put's a massive price on his wicket. His stellar 4th innings record is a testament to that.

People might not agree with this but he's in the top 3 Pakistani batsmen to ever represent us !!

Meanwhile Hafeez has a brainfade and get's out to

Scored just enough to make sure that he is kept in the team . 42 will remain the top score of this innings.

Well well.. Been out of touch for three days, looks like England is marching towards a massive victory? They literally batted Pakistan out of the match!!
I wan't the only one telling Root will come big i guess

Ok game over now guys.. time to turn of the telly

Wait so 42 was Hafeez best score of the series? Surely that is criminal for a highly experienced campaigner in an away series?

How many matches has he played now - do Pakistan truly not have better openers than Hafeez and Masood?

Congratulations to Mohammad Hafeez.

He lifted his Test Batting Average Outside Asia (Excluding Zimbabwe) to a magical

17.71

I want Pakistan to be 8 or 9 down and get saved by the rain. Just to see the English media reaction to Cook

Will he make them pay by scoring three figures ?

Any guess ?

I think he can with England losing Stokes.

little un predictable he got experience and he play quietly with in his limits but my guess .

Either between 30-34 or 72-76 runs.

I hope he scores a 100

Yeah Stokes seemed to be the bowler troubling him most so he's got a much better chance of a big score. For Pakistan's sake let's hope he scores a triple :hanif

Hehe. I hope so.

I think Max score limit would be 125.

I hope it rains all day tomorrow :)

So disappointing from Hafeez. Does all the hard work and throws it away. Lol Misbah. I'm perfectly fine with him playing that with mid on up

You are right as 42 years Old Younis struggles against Pacers especially in Seamers friendly conditions plus he isn't in best of Form either.

But I hope he scores a Century if not than atleast a fifty.

Misbah will show how he is better than Sachin with the "real match-winning knock under pressure" in this Test Match!

Misbah plays the ball quite late and with soft hands which is why he doing well so far on this tour.

Poor technique is easy to exploit

Pakistani team has no hope, Azhar is falling over, ball did that to him at lords and now they have exploited it pretty well. This has caused self doubts in Azhar's own game... YK's Skipping back leg is horrendous, never seen even tailunders do that. If he has being doing this all his career, they you could hope some how he can manage here as well, but we have never seen YK does this skip dance, not in the very last test in YK...What he is trying to achieve with this?? - He is creating lot more holes in his technique then they were there...He got to be still, it looks so bad, he is not comfortable at all...

Shan is a gone case, he is not a international opener, I expect him to be dropped in next game... Hafeez has its own issues, he is fighting hard today but will not last long.

Its not like English bowlers are bowling very well, its much easier to go after players with too many holes in batting technique. Its much harder to exploit Root's(who is world no 1 batsman) technique at his home...Plus our bowlers have not find the length, which is key in England. Our past greats usually have fond the length to bowl in England after season or two with county cricket.

Four Bowlers Strategy Exposed

Pakistan also plays with four bowlers, this works fine in Asia, where you play two spinners, who bowl 70/80 percent of bowling without tiring too much. This test shows why western teams play with atleast five bowlers, 3 seamers is not sustainable model for test or FC cricket in western world. There teams at all level are designed that way, well for 150 years...If you play less in west, you forget the requirements and get further behind.

Playing with only 4 bowlers, 3 seamers and 1 spinner is not sustainable in west... England would like to play on these kind of pitches more and wear us down, we would need new set of bowlers for next series. Now we have injury worries...

Within the space of 3 days, all the fears we had before the series came back alive, anything that could go wrong did go wrong...This issue may not have exposed as badly as it did, have we won the toss and batted first, we could have scored 400 runs and these issues would have gone unnoticed once again...But reality is we are not ready to play in west, hiding 6 years in desert has made is worse!!!

Can we bounce back? - its very hard, but as I said before, winning toss is absolutely must for Pakistan to have a competitive series...ICC is thinking of giving toss to visitors, which is right direction for test, since lessor sides can be competitive. I hope we win next two tosses and have better show, otherwise nightmare will continue.

Fair play to the contingent of Pakistan fans still there cheering them on. Gave Misbah a rousing ovation when he walked out.
