Sri Lanka won the toss and elected to bat

perfect time for sl to sneak a win while the english players are zoned out because of brexit.

Don't understand the reason behind Mendis at 3. He has such ordinary domestic statistics. Rubbish selectors.

Mendis is class if you watch him bat. Ive noticed you rely too much on statistics. You keep saying Babar Azam's first class stats arent great (has a list A average over 50 btw) so hes overrated and stuff like that. Watch the player bat. What were you doing during the New Zealand series when Shehzad was humiliated as usual and Hafeez and Babar were playing beautifully.

Brother, there is more than 50 % chance that a batsman will replicate his domestic statistics at International level. Let's see.

SL deserved to win the last ODI really. What a fluke from Plunkett and Woakes.

Lankans should target Moen Ali. Will make Morgans life difficult if moen is expensive

Brilliant fielding by Roy. Not good judgment of a run there by Chandimal and Perarra

The Sri Lankan attack's lack of incision is being exposed here.

This English opening pair will run away with the game if you let them bat for 18 overs.

Just tuned into the game - england looks super comfortable. I take it that the SL batting collapsed....

Easy win for England. Hales and Roy are a destructive pair when they get going

Absolute demolition.

Very demoralising for Sri Lanka, especially after coming so close to winning the first game.

Looks like England are going to be favourite to win a world cup in 2019 after a long time if they continue this

Absolutely deserving - in fact SRL should be defamed with an unique 11 wicket defeat.

After last match, with Lankan bowling & England having Rashid, Plunket at 10/11, what else one should expect after opting to bat first?

May I ask why Upul Tharanga was batting at number 7.

Like it or not - he is one of the best opening batsman of our generation and easily better than garbage like Perera and Gunathilaka.

At least Sri Lanka are looking to the future. Tharanga has had his moments, but he is a very inconsistent player. Has massive issues outside the off-stump, plus he plays too many dots at the beginning of the innings and sucks the momentum, unless he's having one of those days where he plays an amazing innings. Perera and Gunathilaka may fail but in the long-run, this is a better strategy. Tharanga has also played a couple of OK knocks down the order and Sri Lanka are struggling in that department so I guess they wanted to add some solidity. Plus, Tharanga's deficiencies are less likely to be exposed at that position.

Perera and Gunathilaka have done little to suggest they are more consistent than Tharanga. Thirimanne was probably better than both of them.

From 2007 - 2011, Tharanga was insane so that might explain why I have a soft corner for him. Sad to see him now batting at 7 when he was such a good opener.

England should definitely win one of Champions Trophy 17 or the World Cup 19 otherwise they would be massive failures in my eyes. Their ODI team is very good atm.

Naya England, very strong team.

India-NZ-England-Aus--- the strongest ODI teams right now. With Bangla and WI on the rise.

Aus actually has been a little sloppy in recent times after the World Cup. Let's see how they do in the final.

Also I feel people are reading too much into SL's performance here.

This was a paradise for batsmen. Except all the batsmen who looked threatening got run out and the one guy who threw it away. Had Kushal and Chandimal kept going instead of getting run out there would be a bigger score to chase.

Granted, SL's attack is weak, but this is just 1 big loss.
