What's new

England finish Day 2 on 92/4 in response to Pakistan’s first-innings total of 326

If Pak can get Root and Stokes early then they will have a decent chance of getting the lead

Abbas has lost pace and he didn't have much to begin with, last tour he was consistently at 130 and now he is more around 128-127. Injury isn't an excuse this time. Seems like a combination of age and bad work ethics.

No worries ;)

Oh another wicket ........... this is a match on. I was thinking eng will easily score around 400 but now they can be contained.

I recall a certain clown telling us Burns is better than Masood, and Sibley is the best thing since sliced bread.

Lethal bowling from Pakistan.

England are seriously shook - hence Sibley reviewing a plumb LBW.

Ben Stokes and Joe Root, two of the best on the crease

All I can say is that thank god my account got approved before the start of the series, thank god. Great community!

Couldn't have asked for a better start. Shaheen is so good to watch and Abbas has bowled good medium pace.

Stokes batting out of his crease. Abbas is good enough to adjust I think

Englands main 2 batsmen in middle now, need to get both early.

England's two best batsmen in the middle.

But this is exactly when you want them at the crease - not when ball is soft and old, and when seamers are tired.

Naseem hasn't even had a bowl yet !

The challenge for Abbas is to get those batsmen who bat well outside their crease out. Otherwise, lets make no mistake it doesn't change the fact that he was found out months ago.

Poms best pair in too early- need just one more strike before stumps tonight

Exactly! I really hope we can get at least one of these two out before end of play.

Hope Azhar keeps attacking and doesn't go into his usual defensive mode if Root/Stokes hit one or two boundaries.

Never underestimate a Pakistani captain's ability to release pressure when on top.

Yep, haven't seen him succeed against players standing out. Only short term solution is Rizwan standing up, which I think he has done in the past.

Don't really see what he can do since he hasn't got the pace to worry them with short stuff. Best hope is Shaheen or Naseem to deal with those guys who bat out of their crease.

For Abbas, maybe the keeper could stand up to the wicket.
