England limp to 31/4 (still 51 behind) at Stumps on Day 2 after bowling out Australia for 267

Mitch Marsh and Henrequies has impressed me more than Cam Green ever has at international level.

It gives the poms a chance, we were going to play left handed but we did that last time.
for real though, why play him? He literally contributes nothing to the team. You'd be much better at least short term with Marsh.

We have noted your frustration and will take it into consideration next time, meanwhile relax and breathe.

England has a real chance. They should come out aggressively and play some shots and put Australia on the defensive. If they try to tuk tuk they will play into the hands of Australia.

He's not Test standard currently.

Not a meaningful contribution with bat or ball in his entire Test career over 2 years.

No idea why you're fine with playing with 10. Overseas it's going to backfire bad.

Yeah righto mate.

You realise there's barely another batsman in the country with a FC batting average >50... and we are down to picking guys with Fc averages in the 30s... but you don't reckon he's among the best batters alone from who we have to pick from?

He's taking regular wickets now. Bowling 145k.

Have you actually watched an allrounders career develop? Do you remember how Freddie Flintoff did in his first 3 years Test cricket? Ben Stokes first 3 years? Let's go even bigger, Imran Khan?

Plenty of time for Green to come good.

Series becomes interesting if England win this.

Still long way to go but for this England team to draw the series or even win a Test would be a good accomplishment given the quality of players they have

Tailenders should bat the way they are comfortable with unless if it is a test-saving effort. Even Stokes, Butler, Bairstow are playing very defensively.

As if FC means anythng when you get worked over like Green does at international level.

A counter attack from the tail could give Aus a 100 run lead.

If Australia takes a lead of 50, England will have to score atleast 275 to have a realistic chance. If they end up getting bowled under 200 against it will be a walk in the park for OZ.

Cricket Australia is committed to stopping climate change and will continue to select Green and by 2050 hope to select 90% of players that are Green.

I don't know whether you're a supporter or not.

Social media seems pretty split on him.

Lead is now 53 still 2 wickets remaining .80+ lead is very good on this pitch .

Hundred coming from Root tomorrow.

A tricky situation this for our brothers across the border. Want England to win but don't want Root to score a hundred. How is that possible though? :kp

Drop. But hit fiercly back at Robinson. oopsie. Pulled a hammie in the process? If that is the case it will be a devastating blow for England.

Robbo may have done his hamstring attempting to take that c&b. Potentially a big blow which will increase the workload on Stokes.

Definitely. Load sharing will be a major issue. One guy close to 40. One guy back after a break. Wood is genuine quick. He cannot do the donkey work. Leach is unthreatening.

I'd be prepared to say if Root tons up tomorrow, England can post a winning score. But he won't.

Says a lot that England have actually had a pretty good day here, taking 8/192, but they are still down in the game (albeit not out) and facing more potential injury problems. A tough tour!

Aussies are bowled out for 267.

They have a lead of 82 runs.

Anderson couldn't get a 5-fer.

That is all out now , Aussies lead by 82 runs here , England need 350 runs to make a match out of it.

That is England’s best bowling and fielding performance in the series by far. I do worry that the game for them will come down to a lack of first innings runs though, yet again.

A substantial lead
Anderson deserved 5 fer, he was at very best today. He averages 13 away from home this year

Anderson finishes 4/33 from 23 overs, doubt there's a bowler in England that can bowl as well as him. Yet again shoving all the criticism down the throat of his detractors.

Very impressive.

It does get quite tiring explaining these things to others, but ultimately those of us who are supporters of Jimmy Anderson know how good he is, and that’s that.

The lead is substantial, England had a great chance when Aussies lead was 22 with 8 wickets down!

Taking the last 2-3 wickets for England has become a recurring problem under Joe’s captaincy.

wow. What a peach. Cummins found the edge. It perfectly bisected the slip and keeper. Carey pathetic attempt. That is his catch.

His hall of shame moment was when England resorted to revenge tactics against Shami/Bumrah. The valuable runs they added gave India the hope of winning the test.

Yes, without a doubt. All time low.
