Streaky 44444444444444 from Flingtoff

Flingtoff GOOOOOOOONNNNNNNEeeee

69.4

Johnson to Flintoff, OUT

A Flintoff c †Haddin b Johnson 7 (19b 1x4 0x6) SR: 36.84

LOL MJ is like a typical slingy express bowler, he's all over the place, wides, no-balls, bouncers and wickets!! I don't reckon even he knows where the ball is going to go. :))

Seffrican Trott standing alone amidst the carnage

Can we knock them over for under 300? Broad is a bit of a cowlasher. If we can get his wicket we're into the tail

Much better from MJ this spell, last spell he was spraying it around like a goat with two penises

Lucky 4 from Daddy's Boy

71.3 Johnson to Broad, FOUR, oh dear, Broad has almost edged that to slip! Short from Johnson and Broad doesn't know whether to play or leave, he tries to get out of the way but it runs off his glove and bounces just short of Ponting at second slip, and runs away to the boundary

Geez!! did you see the turn and bounce from marcus north on that last delivery?? my word and this is a 1st day pitch!

Graeme Swann may do well on here...

Twatson flukes an LBW but unfortunately for him it's not given

Hawkeye says that was crashing into leg stump halfway up

73.6 Watson to Trott, 1 leg bye, big shout, big lbw shout! Angled in and Trott tries to work that to leg, it's hit him in line with middle and leg, Asad Rauf says not out! That looked a very, very good appeal.

Didn't matter, Trott was out a couple of balls later anyway

74.2 North to Trott, OUT, that is magnificent work from Katich! Truly incredible stuff at short leg! Trott uses his feet and clips to leg, Katich at short leg makes a sharp save and quickly gets a full-blooded throw at the stumps, Trott is still in the follow through and has to turn quickly, the direct hit has him well short

IJL Trott run out 41 (81b 5x4 0x6) SR: 50.61

Katich gets a run out.- great skills close in
Trott - the last recongnized player gone

Swann almost gone first ball.

Bumble- Spin Jump first up.

Why are australia spinless. They could have had England in shambles with Hauritz

I reckon you're making Horroritz look better than he is lol. He's not THAT good. He's not even as good as Graeme Swann!

Brave innings from this guy :14: , A prospect for the future for England . Needs to be looked after well and not hyped up as the next Bradman/Tendu ETC.

A target of 300 would be well good from here.

These english speed guns are an absolute joke...shane watson bowling at around 90mph?? you have to be kidding me even on tv it doesnt look anywhere near 90mph! ridiculous stuff...

Really.....He's really bowling 90 mph . Ok now it's official , All the speed guns in Uk are broken , If they need we could lend them ours since we won't be needing them for the next few years .

The day that Twatson bowls 90mph is the day that I will run around the Prudential Center in Boston naked!

Becareful OZGOD , Its the Uk speedgun your daring against . Watson might even bowl 105 mph.

I will keep watching the news updates for an Aussies gone Mad :D .

If they get to 400 I will be very disappointed. I will take 350 though.

The Tail-enders or more like Top-Order batsmen in disguise are making them toil hard for wickets , I'm sure their last test stand would have given them superb confidence of their abilities.

Swann gone
Stumps
303-8

looking at the pitch and conditions its par for me

Siddle has bowled damn well this game. Picked up instrumental wickets at the right time.

We certainly have a decent tail nowadays, which seems to me to be karma addressing the imbalance of previous years where we have fielded two number 10s and 11s to make up our tail. Broad is a good little batsman in his own right, Swann's a tough chap with a good range of shots who really sticks it out, whereas Anderson has really built up a decent technique over the years. It's good to get to 6 down and think 'there's still another hundred runs in this,' whereas before it was more a case of 'can we get another 20 runs before we're all out? Probably not.'

Unlucky England, their best batsman got out on the last ball of the day.

Don't be foolish. Stuart Broad is still out there.
He is the second best one. Or you can have it the other way round.

What about Jimmy , the guy with no ducks.
He can't be considered as a batsman until he gets a duck. :asif

Aussies might just be ahead.. but not by much at all ! England have got 300+ they be looking for around 330-340 now.. with Aussies having to bat last it really is looking like its going to be a good tight game.. loads of pressure of the English spinner now.. wicket is turning like a day 5 wicket on day 1 so he will be expected to get some wickets...

Aussies not playing a spinner looks like a bad choice after all ! only time will tell over the next few days if it was a massive mistake !

Why do people keep thinking that not playing a spinner was a bad choice? Our spinner is HORRORITZ, not Warne or MacGill or even Swann.

if england can nudge upto around 330 tomorrow maybe een a little more, i think that may well turn out to be a very decent score on this pitch which is disintegrating a fair bit after just the first day...! A very very dry surface...

Day 1 honours to OZ but this match is fairly delicately poised eh. I'm pretty sure there will be a result of some kind.

Australia's 1st inngs will be very very important here, the pitch is still pretty good and i think Australia can bat England out of this match.

OZGOD the wicket looks perfect for even a spinner whos half decent on this wicket.. so to have all fast bowlers and not pick a spinner seems a bad choice...

Looking forward to seeing Swann bowl.. the pressure is on him big time.. all the talk is about him bowling now on this wicket and if he performs England can go on and win it... you can expect Flintoff to be up for it with the ball...

OK, the acid test question. Would you back Kaneria to run through a side on this wicket? (Note that Kaneria is better than Horroritz)

I reckon we won't be wanting to bat last on this deck. Our batters should be looking to bat once and bat long.

I think North+Krapich+Pup >>> Horroritz

We wont know what a par score is until Australia have had a bat. Australia probably just in front at the moment.

I am surprised that Clarke doesn't bowl more often, he's better then North and can pick up wickets on turning tracks.

Bell's been knocked over, awesome knock of 72 though, pure quality, a slap in the face for his detractors, Warne is very quiet.

I was watching him bat with friends and we were literally laughing at him trying to the play the short ball. How he got 72 is a mystery to me.

Clarke has a) a side strain currently and b) a dodgy back. He just can't bowl that often.

Anyway, happy with 8/300 and the great Peter Siddle getting 4 wickets and hitting 150kph. Now 49 wickets in 12 Tests.

So far it's turning out similar to Cardiff, other than the fact that the pitch is starting to break up. I'd have taken eight wickets on Day 1 had it been offered to me before play. We have our noses in front, but we still have to bat.

We need to quickly run through this Pom tail and keep them below 350. Then Dubya and the boys need to set themselves to play a long, boring innings and bat for two days. We should absolutely be only looking to bat once and hopefully give ourselves a lead of 200+. I reckon that would be hard to chase. Dubya needs to lead by example and Pup and North need to support. If ever there was a chance to play a match - and series - winning knock this is it. No room for chokers or the fainthearted!

Swann's been woeful all series but he could be a danger here, and I reckon Collywobble will be a handful too.

hehe Flintoff just been denied the most obvious lbw ever.

Can't beleive the ump didnt give it.

Aus 17/0, trail by 315.

Shane Watson is probably currently playing the luckiest innings of his life =)

Just watching the lunch interval on sky

What is wrong with Bumble's eyebrows?

He looks like Spock. Does he shave the ends of or what? Just found it weird.

Also what his Shane Warne's obsession with Vince Vaughn. He kept blabbering on about him yesterday. It was a bit unsettling :(

Warne thinks Trott looks like Vince Vaughan.

One of the pundits in Australia said Warne has got us 25 wickets this series with his sledging in the press. ;-)

Just our luck that rain would be around when we're batting *cough* swing *cough* :(

The 'Huss-Man' now averages 52.39

If Australia lose this then I believe this will be his last match unless he scores a century in last innings

another one!!!!
Clarke

This is madness from broad

Broad with 4 now. For British Media he will now be the next Flintoff if England pull this off

Jesus what's happening, Australia collapsing here. Katich has a chance to become a hero here, we are in for a great test match.
