England v Pakistan | 4th Test | The Oval | Aug 11-15, 2016 | Day 2

Supporting Pakistan cricket team is really unhealthy for your cardiovascular and psychological health.

The Ball is already getting scuffed up. One side is already looking shinier than the other.

Pakistan need to watch out for reverse swing.

Jimmy's pace is down in this match, below 80 most of the time... Is he carrying injury or getting closer to the end? :( - Temper for sure has not gone any where ;-)

Why did they sent Ifti infront of Sarfi?

Misbah should retire, this guy always bottles it, keeps playing outside off

So Pakistan will end the day with a RR of 3.75 and with more score than England on board. Good effort!

if we can bet on this... I would bet MISBAH would never do that..

Why everything goes against Misbah? There is Arthur, Inti & in fact Inzi as well. I am sure it's a collective decision. Look, 8 months back, Yasir got injured & PAK's thick tank killed the Abu Dhabi wicket (& almost lost the match). If these 4 people can't come to an agreement, that's bigger problem. Besides, how come any management select Iftekhar for a Test Series in UK?

Need atleast 80 more these two and 50 from the last three

Playing late is key in west, Sami played better because of that too, today YK same story!!

We absolutely NEED to get to 500 at least.

If England bat a 2nd time they will be ruthless because this pitch is as flat as it gets, even Hales will make plenty here.

iA we get a lead of 150-200, too much to ask since we only have 2 batsmen left.

420 will be bonus here

You are going to lose this Test because of your stubborn refusal to call-up players from the A team.

There is no justification for not selecting Babar Azam, and I suspect that he'd have scored 40-50 more runs per innings than Iftikhar.

And you really should have picked one of your successful all-rounders - Mohammad Nawaz or Hasan Ali.

Pakistan can't win this Test unless they bat until Tea on Day 4 and lead by 170. Yasir Shah won't get any turn until late Saturday, which is Day 3.

Misbah's stubborn refusal to pick his in-form youngsters is going to be devastating.

I have seen this many a times when other batsman score , MISBAH shuts the door... if all other batsman failin misbah somehow will manage to get a 50 and rescue his team for a modest total..

Misbah never selects youngsters. It took Haris Sohail an eternity of banging on the door to even get a call up to the ODI team when Misbah was incharge.

Misbah is lover of oldies

Junaid bhai respect for you as a senior poster but are you kidding? we already have a lead of 10-20 runs now at the end of 2nd day play and you are saying we should bat until tea on day 4 and get a lead of 170 runs?

12 ahead

Only good thing for Pakistan is that Younus and Sarfraz both are quick scorers and if they can bat for a session, PAkistan will be in good position.

As of now GAme even

.

this one i say many times.. he got 4 years to build his team for the CWC'15... he kept giving chances to hafeez, younis shafiq etc.. and finally if ur going to play a young middle order and play sarfi as opener and haris sohail at 3 and maqsood as at 5...

Good day.

despite the last few wickets falling.

Somehow hopefully YK goes on to make 200
Saf makes 100
Riaz/Sohail add a quick 50

and woohoo

we get a good lead

the way we got a lead of 100 in the last game, England made a mockery of that and chased it so easily

but we need 50 at least tomorrow

337-5 (one of them being the nightwatchmen) in a day's play isn't a bad effort by any means. Plus we have YK on a 100 at the crease and Sarfraz also looking quite settled Mashallah

The Oval does take turn so I'm hoping Yasir will be more effective than he was at Edgbaston where the conditions offered him nothing.

I can't believe we'll bowl as toothlessly as we did in the 3rd innings in the last test.

Realistically, Younis needs to get 150, Sarfraz goes to 50, and at least 40 between Amir, Riaz and Sohail. That's 140 more so that takes us to 480 and gives a lead of 152. That's more than handy, get England out for 300 which is doable and its on for us.

The new ball collapse was irritating if not surprising. Still, Sarfraz has steadied things a bit with Younis. Need to keep it slow for a while and at least bat till tea tomorrow if possible. It will be difficult as Anderson/Broad/Finn/Woakes will be rested and the ball is still new. Big challenge ahead, either Younis/Sarfraz show up tomorrow and score big or they get dismissed early. That will be the difference between a lead of 50 or 200.

Can reasonably say Pakistan on top.

They would want 150 run lead....Eng would want to it less than 50.

Maybe we will get a 100 run lead and a cracker of a match.

Is the pitch breaking up?

I think he means tea on day 3. So far the script for this game looks similar to the previous one. Still a danger that Pakistan won't survive batting last.

Decent day but again did not drive home the advantage and the match position does not reflect our domination on the day

I'd be surprised if we get a lead of
More that 100 at best

they say MISBAH got him...

Just look at how fast we've scored today. Nearly at 4 rpo, this is coming from a side which usually snails it at 2 rpo, so just imagine how England will go here. There may be a bit of turn, but honestly Sohail, Amir and Wahab have been taken for plenty despite taking wickets. They bowl well in patches then get carted the rest of the time. If Cook, the guy who usually bats at 55-60 SR is going at 75-80 SR, then you know we've been too generous with our bowling.

You also need another few runs because of England's extra batting depth, which has been the most annoying thing this series.

His weakness though is playing around his pad , needs to cut down on that shot

Playing late helps you to get more organized and control your movement. This also means as your innings progress, you are more settle, watching the ball better, can handle good delivers. Innings planning goes out of the window if you start jumping like he was doing all summer.

Yasir hasn't been bowling well and is off his radar

The pitches don't have EVERYTHING to do with the poor returns
