Nasser Hussain and Ian Botham both feel there is plenty of time for a result. There is a long way to go.

I think having an off day as a captain answers that (like I said)

And saying we have Imran Khans in the side was sarcasm 'genius', meaning that there arent great captains like Imran Khan in the team who are more worthy of being made captain.

And when exactly did I call Butt beychara? You making things up now newbie :yk. With the great start that he has made to his captaincy, it would be idiotic to suggest that Butt is a baychara.

farhat is a better bowler than batsman, and better than kaneria if you look at form!

Everyone is freaking out, just because the scores have been so low this series, but this truly is a flat track! If you look at subcontinental pitches 400 is a low first innings score!! I know our batsmen suck, but usually when our bowling isn't as good our batsmen step up.
I agree the odds are against us with this lineup, but even our batsmen should be able to make a decent score here. The game is not over, relax!

So according to you, if he didnt score all the runs and got all the wickets, he cant be given credit for those victories. :)))

I think you missed the last match and the final match against Australia, where he had correct fielding placements more or less and made good bowling changes. Im not sure what does that imply in your little world, but in general it does mean that he did a pretty good job as a captain. (Hate to break it to you :inzi)

How shall I break it down for you once again ? He removed the 3rd and 4th slips at 47-5.There was an edge which would have been caught.At 102-7,the same thing happened again.Then in the 200s,he did it again.Another edge.

These are SIMPLE mistakes.Even if you havent been captaining for years,in order to be a skipper in the first place,you must at least know that to set an attacking field,you HAVE to keep at least 3 slips and a gully.Why put men out at fine-leg and deep square leg(102-7)and let the new batsmen settle,new captain or not ?!

Its captaincy 101.
 
pak need to end this partnership quckly tomorrow.as i say there are no demons in this pitch so pak should make the most out of tmmrw which should be the best batting day..

congrats england on winning the test series....and man of the match award goes to salman butt for his outstanding contribution to english cricket.
 
What a great day for both teams. Amir bowled very well but I think the real credit should be given to England. They scored over 300 runs out of no where. At one point it seemed they are not even going to score 100 runs.

Ive already said that he had a FRICKIN OFF-DAY. Cant you read or have you just ran out of things to say.

So he should have set attacking field placements, when theres a knick every 100 runs? Yeah why not, our solid batting lineup would have easily made the extra runs that would have been conceded in the process. Since the bowlers werent consistenly looking effective, Butt must have thought it would be better to keep the runs down. Call that inexperience or anything, it seems that the move didnt work out, which once again leads to what I said before- HE HAD A FRICKIN OFF-DAY

Its clear that you dont want Butt as captain (even though it has only been 4 matches :inzi), so you might as well tell me who do you actually want to captain the side?

This is international cricket,not gulli danda Riff.And the worst possible time to have an off-day,the match where we can pull level.

He's failed under pressure today.Not good enough for a senior,what example is that timid captaincy to the youngsters ? Good luck to the guy with his batting,but he might have an off-day......

I dont care who's captain as long as they perform and at least frigging have the guts to ATTACK.

Even the best captains have off days. So since you think Butt IS NOT ALLOWED to have off-days must indicate that you must regard him quite highly as captain :21: :farhat

Not only did we a win a test match and levelled a series against Australia after God knows how many years under Butt's captaincy, which is a great achievement as it is, but we also defeated England who I believe is a better side than Australia. Only morons like you would think that losing this series but levelling a series against Australia would accumulate to a bad tour overall.

Pakistan is a mediocre test side at best, which would take time to turn around. Getting angry at the thought of losing a test series against a top notch side like England, shows that you either havent followed Pakistan test cricket at all in recent years or that youre an utter moron.

Have you also forgotten the circumstances under which he was made captain?

Not really. Trott would've been gone a long time ago with his nicks had our Cuptaan put a third slip in. His field placing today has been horrendous, and Vicky Bhai didn't help him much either from the pavilion.

All the more reason to grasp your opportunities. I'm sorry, but something went drastically wrong today. Ultimately it's the captain who has to take that responsibility. We were very flat at times, yet I didn't once see Butt (even attempt) raise the morale/energy of our team.

102-7 to 346-7. I'm sorry that is inexcusable for even a "mediocre" side.

Pakistan,with our history,players and talent should have high expectations no matter the circumstances.We should be right up there and competing,the captain has to lead from the front and do that.Pardon me for wanting my loyalty rewarded like many other fans and expect some sort of return !

You seem happy to settle for mediocrity and a mediocre captain.
We are a Test nation whether you like or not and need to be competing with the best,WINNING,levelling the series and laying down a marker.Otherwise we'll end up like West Indies.

Sure,give Butt time,but he's not leading from the front enough,lead the charge,Imran Khan said of Inzi at Headingley 2006 when he came at No.7,

''So what if he had an injury,he's the captain,he needs to lead from the front''.
