I feel that Mohammad Hasnain will get the chance to play in this but Mohammad Amir's first chance to impress the selectors also.

Batting wise, Asif Ali needs to be given a chance to show any improvement that he may have made - rest should be the regulars (not sure about Hafeez playing due to fitness etc)

This is the expected line-up:

1) Fakhar Zaman
2) Babar Azam
3) Imam Ul Haq
4) Sarfraz Ahmed(C)(Wk)
5) Haris Sohail
6) Asif Ali
7) Imad Wasim
8) Faheem Ashraf
9) Hasan Ali
10) Mohammad Amir
11) Shaheen Afridi

England XI:

1) James Vince
2) Joe Denly
3) Joe Root
4) Eoin Morgan(C)
5) Ben Duckett
6) Ben Foakes(Wk)
7) David Willey
8) Tom Curran
9) Jofra Archer
10) Adil Rashid
11) Chris Jordan

Fakhar
Babar
Asif
Sarfaraz
Faheem
Imad
Hafeez
Haris

That's should be the order if we don't lose any early wickets and things follow the order we would like, ie Babar fakhar bating through 6 7 overs.
Hasnain
Hasan
Amir

Cardiff has short straight boundaries. We should employ the tactics we adopted two years ago which was to bowl into the pitch, use variations and try to get the batsmen aiming for the longer wide boundaries.

Pakistan cricket captain Sarfraz Ahmed aims to kick off the tour against England on a winning note, as the Men in Green are set to clash with the hosts in the one off T20 International (T20I) at Cardiff on Sunday.

“I am optimistic that the team would perform well in the upcoming T20 encounter,” said Sarfraz, as the team carried on preparations to face off against England.

The skipper informed that winning all three warm up games, including two 50-overs match and one T20I against Leicestershire has served as a confidence booster for the visitors.

“You get a morale boost when you win practice matches, and that is the reason that we are enjoying high morale, the players are feeling highly energetic and we got the momentum on our side so we are hopeful to start off the tour on a positive note,” he said.

“Both teams are a pretty good T20 sides, we would try to play good cricket against England and win the match,” he added.

Sarfraz informed that the team would go on with the same Playing-XI that played against Leicestershire in T20I and would also include speedster Mohammad Amir as the 12th man.

According to Sarfraz Hafeez to miss out and Imam to make his T20 debut.

Really wanted to see Abid Ali having a go on these dead wickets.

England XI:

1) James Vince
2) Joe Denly
3) Joe Root
4) Eoin Morgan(C)
5) Ben Duckett
6) Ben Foakes(Wk)
7) David Willey
8) Tom Curran
9) Jofra Archer
10) Adil Rashid
11) Chris Jordan

That's a weak team imo.

Babar to score a century if we choose to bat you heard it here first.

Their bowling is pretty good tbh. They have t20 bowlers. You still think babar can score a 100?

He is number one T20 batsman for a reason...

He should be able to score a half-century atleast on the English flat decks.

England bowling looking very strong. Tom curran, archer , jordan bowling together in the death overs will be hard to score runs.
Batting looking weak on paper but I feel vince will score big tomorrow.

Pak is a team that runs on confidence. A few losses for us and the wheels will come off.

It's actually the opposite. If we win too many in a row we become over confident and then fail. If we lose some in a row, the team becomes more confident.

This. Pakistan is best when they are not expected to win every game.

Imam needs to play, he needs an opportunity to practice some attacking cricket. If English pitches truly turn out to be phattas this summer then he might just be too slow at the top to propel Pakistan to the 330+ scores which will be needed.

No! We lose a few then find it very difficult to stop the rot. Hopefully if we reach then lose a quarter final there won't be much time to recover thereafter:)):))

If Pakistan want to win , they need to play modern day cricket right from first ball. Imam will play but he needs to try and clear the in field initially and look to get some boundaries.

Are the fans in for a reality check? I know it's a single T20 but y'know :inti

A team like Pakistan with rich history of spinners selected Yasir Shah (List A bowl avg of 34 and ODI avg on its way to 50) as replacement of Shadab and after his poor show in warm up matches he isnt even in the 12 named for the T20. Pakistan is going with just one spinner and that too is not a specialist one in Imad along with part timers in Haris and Fakhar.

Inzi and Mickey should be answerable for Yasir's selection which has been again proved wrong in the warm up matches.

England XI:

1) James Vince
2) Joe Denly
3) Joe Root
4) Eoin Morgan(C)
5) Ben Duckett
6) Ben Foakes(Wk)
7) David Willey
8) Tom Curran
9) Jofra Archer
10) Adil Rashid
11) Chris Jordan

This is a pretty weak team. Vince , Root and Foakes are useless in t20s. Bowling looks okay with Archer. We should comfortably win this.

Pakistan with a great chance to keep their record going - good test of how well they have adjusted.

13 / 4 in favour of Pakistan at the moment.

They already got one in South Africa. Besides, this is a weak England team - their strength is their batting muscle, and they are without Buttler, Roy, Bairstow and Stokes. Any result but a Pakistan win would be unacceptable, but rest assured, if we do win, our fans will claim this historic triumph as a justification for our number one ranking.

How's losing to SA by 6 runs in one match and by 7 runs in the other A reality check??
It was just an anomaly nothing more.

It is an absurd notion that this Pakistan team is the best T20I team in the world, and it is only a matter of time before this myth is blown into pieces. We got a taste of it in South Africa and in due time, it will be clear to everyone. If there is a WT20 today or if this Pakistan team joins IPL as a franchise, I guarantee you that they will not go all the way.

Furthermore, if we they play India in a T20 series, it will be a repeat of the Asia Cup humiliation. India is comfortably the best T20 side at the moment.

And when Imam

is in t20 team, we had to see these times .

Neither team will be at full strength. I would rather beat England with their best team.

What time does the match start?
Quite confused since Morocco changed to "Ramadan time" this morning... :afridi

Pak lost to SA after unexpectedly losing their captain without Sarfraz as captain the team becomes rudderless. Both teams are weak today with Pak having no services of great youngsters in Shadab and experienced Hafeez and Malik, and Mohd Amir likely not selected in preference to Hasnain to try him out

Shadab is no.2 in the t20i bowling rankings so that's a loss I guess. It would have been better if England had selected a better team but their bowling is good enough.

in my opinion it will either be england or pakistan but nothing can be said with 100 percent certainty.

I would declare that I have zero knowledge and understanding about cricket and leave this forum accepting my shame the day Babar scores a t20 century against any proper bowling attack.

Well this is a proper bowling lineup which he is going to face today so let's see

By proper I mean any half decent attack not consisting of Dalas and Silapamas.

Don't get me wrong, I am not some bitter troll, but some things are never meant to happen. I would happily say the same about Kohli not winning the IPL ever for RCB or Rohit to never score big on a pitch assisting seam and swing.
