Eng in the lead fighting hard. Agar has to turn it on with the ball now. Bit disappointing 1st innings.

If Ashton Agar goes wicketless, something like 0/200 for the match, will he get another Test?" I think, Vineet, they might stick with him. Maybe just put him in the top six?

Ruri thinking is too defensive for me.

Not at all. Aggressive option I think. Blow out the Aussies with Jimmy, a fit Broady, and possibly some help from Swann. Then bat once and bat big during the best conditions.

This is Jimmy's ground of preference, where he is excellent with conventional swing. And yet he put up a masterclass of conventional yesterday and reverse earlier today, chances are, they'd have bowled better the first day and gotten England off to a flier.

The rest of our bowlers are comfortable with conventional swing, and Anderson apart, only the omitted Bresnan is a reverse swing bowler... So why not utilize the strengths of the team and get them more time with their preferred method?

13 for 2 & still 6 overs to go .Another wicket & it will be interesting .

Why have these 2 been so defensive ?

Can't afford taking risks before taking a healthy lead. They will go around 2 an over in the first session tomorrow as well. In other words these two are gonna tuk tuk their way to a lead of 100 before taking off. Great strategy IMO.

sad viewing imo . KP defending like crazy & 3rd maiden in a row .

Broad and Finn, combined 3 for 120, at an econ of 5.85 and 5.33 apiece.

Wonderful mediocrity.

Another absorbing day of Test cricket. Eng back in it now unless the wicket/conditions change drastically tomorrow. If Eng can set a target of around 250 Aus would find it tough to pull off.

250 is a must with Barbie just not there .

He might be fit to bowl by the end of tomorrow, for an opening spell or first change.

If he can do that decently enough, we have no more need of him. Can keep Swann at one end and rotate Jimmy/Trott/Root/KP at the other end to take advantage of reverse from Jimmy, dibbly dobbly weird Trott, and spin from the other two on a dry deteriorating pitch.

And hopefully Finn wont feature.

For a 250 lead, Cook and KP need to both score a ton. I have little faith on Bell or Bairstow if those two get out early tomorrow.

Thank god for Cook. Ashton's knock and those two early wickets with the Aussie pacemen looking dangerous would have deflated many a good batsmen. If he gets a 100 tommorrow and helps England set a good score, it would rank amonst his best innings.

On the flipside, if either Cook and KP can get a big ton, Bell will chip in with a double century of absolute beauty.

If both Cook and KP fall early, Bell will get a duck.

Easy mode prediction there.
