Will Cook & Flower go the Oz and the umps and request it to be overturned?
Why?
No evidence that he hit the ball at all.
Cook and Flower can sod off.

Mate I am being sarcastic here.....![]()
Idiots will always idiots. Finn need some more time in county cricket. Root shouldn't have begun his opening in the Ashes. There is a serious problem with Trott as in he has forgot how to make 100s.
Bell and Prior will be crucial. Only their runs could save England here as I feel KP will struggle against the leftie Starc.
England really don't think out of the box, they just seem to follow the textbook all the time, the reason why they aren't that good to watch.
So we didn't have side-on Hot Spot for Trott because it was prepared to show the catch behind for the Root dismissal and you can't play and record Hot Spot at the same time...
In my mind too much doubt in Trotts, super slow seems to suggest there might have been one.
I thought DRS always favoured the umpire, not so in this case I guess!
Okay maybe kneejerk, but Cook in this test has been useless as a captain. The decision to bat first was stupid,
If you win the toss: bat.
If you're not sure, think about it. Then bat.
If you're still not sure, consult the senior professional. Then bat.

I guess when you average 99.94 you can't blame him
Also mainly had spinners for his attacks

If you have a group of batsmen notorious for poor showings in the first innings of first tests, and if you also average ridiculously low at Trent Bridge for your top 7, and have the second highest wickettaker at the ground in your team... Bowl under cloudy skies.

Exactly.
I got the impression Michael Clarke was happy with bowling 1st.
Still can't bat. Been relying on the tail to save the batsmen for a long time and when they don't score this happens.
To be fair though, it's been quality bowling. Only Haddin deserves a bagging because he is a grade a idiot. To think they recalled this clown and promoted him to vice captain.

Pretty sure he said he would have batted first as well. So a good toss to lose it appears.
I don't think he would have done. I reckon he would have bowled 1st, even more so him knowing how weak his batmen are overall as a unit.
Clarke: "I would have batted, but don't mind bowling as it's a bit overcast."...On Agar: "It may be a surprise to some, but not to use. He's bowled really well and England have a lot of right-handers."
Cook is just ahead of Pieterson in average , but both pretty neck in neck.
If Agar gets Nonefer the match, does he still get picked Test 2?
Please, I'd take an opener with that average over a #4 to be the better batsman.
