England are 15 ahead with 2 wickets down .Yesterday when the sun was out ,batting looked really easy & based on that one would presume at the very least ,a 4th inning target of 250 - 275 should not be very difficult to attain but Agnew in his column feels 250 is a winning score . Will England bat out whole of today & win the test ?

Ultimate battles between good and evil.

I am huge believer in the concept of 'momentum' in sports. Despite Agar's heroics yesterday, if England do manage to win this test, it would rank among the finest of the Flower era. It would be a testament to how unflappable the team has become which wasn't always the case with older English teams

Watch him rise up the order second dig! #8 maybe?

Also I doubt that Clarke will fail twice.

He will bat 8.
7 is his position long term.

Would allow us to select a wicket keeper.

Agar is just a trash player who will be forever remembered for his 98 runs.

He had his best day on his very first day :amla

Another clear sunny day . can England score 250+ today ? i think yes though i have a feeling Agar might be the main wicket taker today .

Have you been watching Australian cricket for the past 5 years? They're use to winning everything, now they'd be lucky to win a game.

Natural cycle.
I see promising signs of us recovering.

England need to look to bat all day and get over 200 lead which will be enough to win this test match.

I'm sure if England bat all day, the lead would be over 300. They might be ultra cautious in the first session but if Cook and KP survive, I expect them to push on in the afternoon

Not really.
Being humbled would be like falling down to New Zealand tier rankings.
Haven't you been bowled out for less than 100 a ridiculous amount of times since 2007/8? I remember reading an article on it btw nice underhanded insult but dw we'll do what you couldn't do in 3 years time to restore some pride for the southern hemisphere.

Big day this. Can Agar turn it on with the ball. Wicket looks really slow and dry and cracks everywhere. Time to shine.

Does anyone know what the highest successful run chase at Trent Bridge is?

Pieterson looks dangerous , he is one batsman who can change the game in matter of few overs. Natural match winner.

I thought the highest run chase would be higher than 284 but then it makes sense as its a swinging ground which also spins.

Now, can the guy who was out for 6, but ended up getting 98, take some wickets.

Agar is more suited to shorter formats ......... his bowling not good enough to play as a bowler. He is poor mans Imran tahir :p

Lead by 52 now another 200 and Aus might have let this one slip.

Huuge wicket Patto strikes KP outta here

Whatta catch cookie munsta gone huuuuuuge wicket Aussies back in it with a bang

For a second I though you were channeling the commentary of AFL commentator Brian Taylor.

Yes and Botham tipped 10-0 to England

Well most of the media was predicting an England cakewalk so an Aussie win in the first test is exactly what this series needs!....though as this Test has shown anything could happen!
