Ashton effect wearing off now , Aussies in real world now![]()
Yep, they are four down with a lead of 71
Big test for England here, they are forced to rely on two Englishmen batting.
Now, can the guy who was out for 6, but ended up getting 98, take some wickets.

yehh, he lives 2 suburbs away from me and he is also half Sri Lankan I heard..
Batting lineups give Watson the trundler too much respect.

Starc is predominantly an LOI bowler. He seems to be designed that way.
I still feel Ryan would've been a better choice if available
anyone else notice Michael Holding almost never uses the word reverse swing, while Gower and Bothm use it in like ever 3rd sentence

Agree, considering he has the same bowling average as the "ridiculously skilled" James Anderson.....

Rhino is a better bowler, but it would have made the attack pretty same same. And Starc has four wickets for the game.
Has the knack of picking up wickets out of no where Watto.
Agreed RA, but we never know what Harris would've done on this pitch.
And I for one do not believe much in this variety attack kinda stuff. We've all seen SA wrecking havoc with three right arm fast bowlers and a heck in a spinners role.
Holding actually knows what he is talking about.
After playing half the games![]()
Hmmm yeah I dont have a strong view either way. What I do know is there is no way Patto and Harris would play five Tests in a row so maybe they thought both were too much of a risk first up.
Don't have high hopes for the rest of Englands batsmen bar Prior.

Yes because he isnt English)
I didn't actually intend to imply thatYes because he isnt English)
Even Erasmus couldn't mess that one up. Useless Erasmus.
Beefy's quite proud of England's abilitity to get the ball to reverse.anyone else notice Michael Holding almost never uses the word reverse swing, while Gower and Bothm use it in like ever 3rd sentence
They'll think twice next timeYou've got to love how juicy these surfaces become when other teams play against each other, as soon as South Africa comes knocking you get featherbeds (not that they help anyway), oh well..

Close game. Aussie is the favourite is at the moment. But we're one partnership away from being back in it.
Think England are ahead. Think Aussies will struggle to chase anything more than 150 on this pitch. It's not easy now and it's getting harder to bat on.
Though for some reason while I usually support England after Pakistan, and generally anyone but the Aussies when they were doing great, in my heart for some reason I want the Aussies to win.

SA did not play a test at Trent Bridge last year, so this is a strawman.
I was born in UK, I lived all my life in UK. The only reason I support Pakistan is because my parents/family support them (who were born in Pakistan). It's nice to have a bit of a connection to Pakistan hence I support Pakistan. Something I can talk to in common, and amongst Pakistani/asian friends (and new Asian/Pakistani people I do meet). I'm not anti-English at all, it feels very natural to support England/UK cos that's what I do in pretty much every other sport. And I generally support England in cricket too if Pakistan's not playing.were you born in Pakistan currently living/working in the UK?
Its very hard and rare for neutrals to root for England
and why did they not play there?
And there were reports of how green the pitches were for the 1st two Tests and England decided to mow alot of grass, why? Steyn?
I'm a neutral but rooting for England![]()
