Superb from Watson!

Asking for a double hundred from him might be too much, even a 150 will do.

I demand a full match fixing investigation into the England team.

They obviously have money at 100,000,000 to 1 odds on a Watson double century.

Surely historical precedent would mean that Rhino and Haddin have bet on the England win?

England are done & dusted . Should have played Tremm for Bressie & Swann as the sole spinner . R.I.P England .

Smith moves to 38 no

Partnership 92 runs

Poms would like a couple more wickets before stumps here.

20 overs left ......... These two need to stay on here.

150 for Watson :14:

220 / 3

Watson needs to stay here , and bat through the day

Partnership 71 runs

Very Good batting by Watson here.

wattoo 139 no

Wow. Have you ever heard of the edit button?

Back on topic, Kerrigan looks terrible, no real turn, no real consistency and as a result the field is so far back that no pressure is being created. That also means that Watto doesn't feel the need to go after the other bowlers which is limiting the chances of other bowlers getting wickets. I understand that with Swann suffering a few injuries over the past few years and with Panesar's international career effectively over that we need a back-up spinner but I'm just not sure if Kerrigan was ready.

R.I.P England? Huh? A). England haven't batted yet, you can't say a team is out of the match before they have even had the chance to bat. And secondly the match doesn't mean anything, even if we do lose then we still have the Ashes so English cricket definitely hasn't died(again)

I agree with you a spinner needs to be selected. Panesar's doing strange stuff at the moment, and IMO wasn't earth shattering anyway nor that young. Swann's awesome, but he's getting older and with his injuries who knows what might happen. Perfect time to test out the potential next England no.1 spinner, against decent opposition.

He doesn't look great, but his domestic record is good and he's rated highly. Think it's the right decision, he could get better. It's best to test out you're brightest young spin talent and from what I've heard it's Kerrigan.

That awkward moment when Watson saved by DRS...

4 overs left here .

Good stuff By Aussies here , if they go to stumps with 3 down only

How furious must Anderson be, with Cook dropping Watto something like 70 runs back.

Watson gone. Gifts his wicket away.

Not needed at this stage of the game. Only 2 overs left to play.

No surprise that Twatto feasted on some trundlers today. He's a confidence player. If he is batting against some buffet bowlers like Kerrigan he can bully them and get his confidence up. Against better bowlers he gets found out. Good effort scoring 176 when nobody else did but I'm still not convinced. Like Convict said he definitely has the talent and potential, but those become bad words when you use them to describe someone who has been playing as long as he has.

As for Pup he has had some bad luck this tour. Lost his wicket twice to jaffas and inside edges but still averaging 40-odd.

As fr Kerrigan I hope Cooky bowls him 50 overs nonstop tomorrow

Also, this is the best possible batting debut for Faulkner. 300+ runs in the bank and very little pressure. He can cow lash to his hearts content.

True, but England seem to get the wickets when needed so I wouldn't bank on anything yet.

Happy with Smith's development, has shown promise on two consecutive tours. And offers something with the ball. But he is a number six batsman, stick him at six and leave him there ffs.

1. Rogers
2. Warner
3. Hughes
4. Watson
5. Clarke
6. Smith

How we need to lineup in Australia. Maybe swap Hughes and Watto.

You're right, he's a bully of dross like this Kerrigan fella. Also a player who is better when the pressure is off. Went missing went the Ashes were at stake, but once Australia had already been slaughtered 3-0 he finally turns up.
I wouldn't say the pressure was off. If anything, Watson was at risk of being dropped if he didn't perform in this test. IMO he's the most talented player we have, but a consistent underachiever.

Last week Boof said that some players would be batting for their careers in the last test.
At the time I thought he was talking about Watson.

Watto's response suggest that Watto thought Boof was talking about him as well.

I agree. I'd like to see a top 6 put in place, then guaranteed their places (major form issues the only exception) for the Ashes in Australia, and reevaluated only when the series is over.
