Dude its a test, it doesn't matter how quick you score them as long as you score them.Cook, Compton and Trott could become the first trio in history to achieve a negative run rate. They certainly have the talent for it.
Compton has only played a handful of games. He's still feeling his way into test cricket, whereas Misbah is an experienced veteran. When he's settled it, the s/r will improve. Misbah will always be boring.
I love how you refer to Compton has being medicore, especially when he averages 2 runs less than Azhar Ali, the only young batsmen Pakistan possess who isn't utterly awful.

Before he feels his way completely, he will be booted out. He's that average.
Ever heard of Asad? Compton can't score a 20 against Steyn and Philtrundler in SA let alone a hundred under high pressure.
Trent Boult 11overs, 4 maidens for 11 runs and picked up![]()
You certainly are entertaining, I'll give you thatNever heard of Asad. Is he another nobody that Pakistan have plucked off the street?
Compton has never played in SA, he's a quality player though so I'd expect him to average at least 50.

I know you're accustomed to playing against mediocre bowlers on placid tracks but if you're actually watching the game you'll see the ball has started to move a lot more. The so called second best test team in the world needs to show a whole lot more authority on home turf against a mediocre team.
Add quality bowling to the list.I'm guessing the people going on about the run-rate aren't actually watching the game? A combination of a slow pitch and a slow outfield is naturally going to produce a low run rate...
Trentt Boult is the real deal, I can see him being a world class test bowler in 2-3 years and who knows maybe even world number 1.![]()

Mate Compton isn't even good enough to board a plane to SA let alone play a test there.
Thought you'd have watched that match, the second test in UAE. You know the one you were close to winning.Compton has never played in SA, he's a quality player though so I'd expect him to average at least 50.

Look at Amirs average...A bowler who averages 30 in tests and 47 in ODIs is the real deal for NZ.
Doesn't Compo III have two centuries in his last three tests?
Boults better than Southee that's almost a consensus with kiws... Come again. But still the bowling attack consists of only one have decent bowler like Southee.

Thought this too. But whenever you hear Kiwi commentators they rave about Southee. Though both are good prospects.Boults better than Southee that's almost a consensus with kiws... Come again.
Yeah he'd average 109Indeed England domestic cricket has such class bowlers that they have had to put with a Barbie doll for half a decade and trundlers like Bresnan.
A guy like Anderson who has been crap for 80% of his career has been the spearhead of your attack for years and years. Compton wouldn't average in 9 in Pakistan domestic.

Need to get Trott out
I wouldn't have a clue about Vettori. I think he may be resting up for Champions Trophy, or Bruce Martin may have been picked ahead of him because of his form against England in NZ.Thought this too. But whenever you hear Kiwi commentators they rave about Southee. Though both are good prospects.
Where's Vettori? Why is he always out/injured these days. Could have used him in England. I don't altogether believe this Martin guy is that good.
Look at Amirs average...
The talents there, his average will improve he's mostly played on placid tracks and has impressed or do you have to be pakistani to be considered a talented bowler?...
If YK was better than every English batsmen in the UAE? Why would you expect Compton to be better than every other English bat in the UAE then?Put it this way, if Compton was a Pakistani, he'd be the best bat in the team, and that includes the past it Younis Khan.
Yeah he'd average 109![]()

Bell won't struggle here, this is New Zealand, home conditions. Big score here I predict for him.Ian Bell is playing with a much more positive approach, class.
Add quality bowling to the list.
Agreed, he was the X-Factor player who could amp up the R.R and make England look good.England look frail and inexperienced without KP
Past it Younis just smashed a ton in SA.
Get with the program, only Pakistanis are allowed to be the best at everything on this forum.
Imran the best all rounder,
Wasim the best swing bowler,
Waqar the best strike bowler,
Shoaib the best celebration (despite stealing it from Donald),
Razzaq the cleanest hitter of the ball,
Afridi the most unfulfilled talent,
Amir the most talented bowler,
Asif the best bowler in the world had he not fixed,
Anwar the best opener,
Inzi the best matchwinner,
etc.
I'm sure I've left out a few gems that I've read here.

Anyone can score a ton there, see off the new ball & SA's new ball bullies get frustrated.

Is that a shot at me?you left out my favourite "player X at his peak was the best ever"
(even if that peak was 2 years)
He's promising, but I've never seen him rip through a team. Even Broad manages that occasionally, Patto & Cummins do, Junaid as well. He's got to add a bit more penetration to get in that league.
Is that a shot at me?
England are a professional side, not an entertaining one. They wont capture your imagination thats for sure. But they do get the job done.
(i did not want to call them boring)
I thought it was about a Ponting comment I made earlier.lol neh, unless you're a Pakistan supporter

And the past it Younis Khan bullied Swann in UAE as if he was Ray Price.
Not half as bad as 630/2 against the the best bowling attack in the world, in Fortress England.
Is that a shot at me?
He would also have at least another 10-15 wickets if basically every catch NZ dropped last season wasn't off his bowling. He was cursed in that regard.
Swann with bowling with chronic elbow pain. A 100% fit Swann would pwn him.
That was a disappointing day, but as I've said previously, our minds were not on the cricket. We made up for it by owning India in their backyard, something the likes of NZ & Pakistan could only dream of doing.
ftfyIt's a shot at me for not believing that Asif is the best thing to ever step foot on this planet and if you put all the legendary fast bowlers in history together in a mixer you'll get Asif's pinky toe.
Wagner is letting the pressure off here. 2 boundaries in 2 overs.
If they get Bell then they will be into the inexperienced middle and lower order. The new ball is only 24 runs away.
