I feel Pakistan had been very opportunist against England in past and that is the reason why the results have been in their favour in last 10 odd tests. Didn't dominated them but have managed to turned the results in favour.

Think it is 7-2 or something in last 10 tests between the two.
 
[MENTION=141520]troodon[/MENTION] been watching too much IPL. Buttler has never really been carnage in Test cricket. Its a lot different in a T20 game where u have to hit out from ball one.

Buttler is totally different in the longer format

We make them look worse than they are. They beat South Africa last year, who are a much better team than us and will whitewash us later this year.

Clearly we are their bogey team.
 
England is an average test team. If India don’t beat this team this time, they don’t deserve to be no 1.

Green, damp and seam friendly FC pitches have become commonplace so there's many pacers with amazing records.

However Abbas is a must for England, West Indies, New Zealand and any game where conditions offer assistance for seam or swing. In Australia on grassless pitches with the Kookaburra then yes you'd prefer a Wahab or someone with extra pace. But for English Tests in May you need an accurate seamer like Abbas.
 
need to clean up the tail quick.. Broad can play so does wood. Need to bat well and put pressure on England.

It’s been a combination of Pakistan raising their game, England lowering their game and of course things going our way as well.

Not complaining though. Long it may continue.
 
Hasan ali have a chance to get the five wicket at historic lords ground .it will boast his confidencs further for test format

England series is about the only series we do proper preparation for.

We've played Ireland, Leicestershire, Northants and Kent before this Test.

Its expected to dry out and be a real belter from day 2... that is what England was hoping when they chose to bat first... that they will see out the early juice in the pitch and then bat long and bat once. Sadly they didn't take into account that the opposition does not have a telly tubby bowling attack.

Look you're entitled to hope for Pakistan's loss but leave out the sour grapes.
 
Opting to bowl was certainly a poor call. England could have rolled us over for 200 here.
 
Mohammad Abbas continues the lesser known traditional of Pakistani bowlers without flair: rao iftikhar, Rana naveed.
Happy with his performance though.
 
why Asad was tried so late in his career at slip? lot of catches would have been taken if he was there before
 
The most annoying thing about Pakistan's bowling efforts recently has been the inability to dismiss the tail cheaply. Hope things are different this time around.

And as I type Abbas gets a wicket.

200 is looking unlikely now. Great Pakistan performance and a pretty dismal England performance to match it.
 
Abbas just seems to have that magic touch - could be a test mainstay for a long time

Abbas hasn’t put a foot wrong in international cricket so far.

Yeah and so was Srl in UAE winning both the tosses and Pak had to bat last against Herath.... This is cricket for you

I think he’s a bit more special then that.
He has a repetitive action, moves it both ways..
Extremely intelligent bowler. Dare I say it but he’s a bit like Asif.
Bowls that scrambled seam delivery beautifully.

Just taken his fourth wicket
 
Can’t believe some people wanted him dropped from the Test team. He is tailor-made for this format.

Rana was very good. he was unbelievable with the old bowl but for some reason he could not play for pakistan for too long as he should have been

Stuart Broad should be batting at 11.

Or maybe...wait for it...our bowling is better than their batting? It's all about matchups and we match up well with their batting.
 
Broad just doesn’t give a **** anymore about his batting.

Shame because he was a decent bat when he started.

Who should be #1 if that happens? The #2 Test team lost 3-1 when they played in England last year.
 
another fluke performance from Pakistan. England giving us wickets to help us out here..need to ask India how to get wickets here..maybe watching IPL will help us..
