cant they be leaving lil grass on track -no fun watching 300/2 in a day & da only guy i luv seeing score a 200 is da beast - SEHWAG- still cant forget his knock against sl.

There's quite a bit of grass on pitch. Not good bowling really, England can't expect to get wickets when they're this inconsistent, giving short ones after a while, then the odd one down the leg side. At the moment, Sri-lanka bowled better than England have done. They need to learn to adapt to flattish conditions, because at the moment it seems as if there needs to be some swing for them to even have a chance of getting wickets. :L

yup,even i think lunkans bowled better . strauss is chewing nails & mahela looks uncertain rite now.

both sides bowling has been poor in my opinion

Dilshan's been batting awesome though, and will probably get a double century. Some of the English batsmen got starts but through it away, not really as a result of good sri lankan bowling.

English bowling attack has never been supreme in tests, especially considering at home they bowl on bowler friendly wickets. But the attack they're fielding, they've got two out of three fast bowlers who aren't test standard, Finn and Broad. Take those out, and replace them with Anderson and Bresnan, and you've got a good attack. Still not sure they'll perform well in subcontinent conditions though.

England's real strength is it's batting line up, it's very strong and able to perform in all conditions. I've noticed England fans in general seem to overrate their bowling attack, but underrate their batting. No idea why really.
 
Look at the scoring rate in first session of play. England bowlers are bowling badly. No discipline at all.
 
113/1 in 28 overs .... sl now trailing by 142 with 62 overs left for da day .any1 thinks a result is possible?

It would take an extraordinary bowler such as a Lillee or a Marshall or a Waqar to get wickets on it I think.

They were here. Cardiff saw Australia score 600+ two years ago. Lord's has been flat for years and years. The Oval is a good track. Headingley is the seamer's paradise but does not get an England test any more.

The Pakistan batsmen just couldn't bat under heavy overcast against Anderson, is all.

nah, good bowlers perform on flat wickets too.

Anderson would have got a few wickets I'm sure. Just Broad and Finn aren't good test bowlers, Tremlett's a little unlucky not to have, but he did take a boatload in the last test match second innings, so I guess it evens out.

A bit surprised with Swann really, hasn't looked particularly threatening. But Sri Lanka do play spin very well.

ball is moving around but does england have the bowlers ... poor tremlett is gonna have a sore shoulder by the time this inning closes .


346/2 & mendis & ranatunga both are uber obese .
 
still 58 overs for da day & trail by 133 ..... if these guys do get a lead of 80 to 100 somehow it could be a nice test,more so if england lose a few early .

Dilbert goes past Sidath Wettimuny's score at Lord's in 1984.

Duleep Mendis hooked Botham for three successive sixes in that match.

thilan guy has a avg of 53 .... wonder whats is avg outside sl ? pretty good ball to get dilly btw.
 
England have a chance to maybe limit sri lankas possible lead now that Dilshans gone.

Need to get mahela out quickly though,
 
thilan has avg of under 25 against aus,eng & us & avgs 90 against pak ...overall avg outside home is 43 .
