Brighton 1-0 Leeds

It's all over.

Brentford 1-1 Everton

When will Everton get their first Premier League win of the season? It's two points from a possible 12 for Frank Lampard's men.

FULL-TIME
Man City 4-2 Crystal Palace

All over and Manchester City maintain their unbeaten start to the season thanks to a brilliant comeback and second-half hat-trick by Erling Haaland.

They are top of the table, level on points with Brighton.

Liverpool 9-0 Bournemouth

Pat Nevin

Former Scotland winger on BBC Radio 5 Live

Nine goals and it could have been more. No exaggeration.

12, 13, 14; it could have been that many if Mo Salah took his personal chances.

Everything went perfect for Liverpool, Bournemouth will hope they'll never have a game like this again.

FULL-TIME
Chelsea 2-1 Leicester

A great three points for Chelsea after Conor Gallagher was sent off after only 28 minutes when it was goalless.

But two goals from Raheem Sterling - his first goals for the club following his move from Manchester City - gave Chelsea control in the early part of the second half.

Leicester, who had a goal disallowed in the first half, fought back and got a goal through Harvey Barnes. Ayoze Perez hit the bar late on for the visitors, but it's Chelsea who hang on to win it. Great entertainment at Stamford Bridge.

Liverpool 9-0 Bournemouth

These are the fourth biggest Premier League wins ever...

Liverpool 9-0 Bournemouth (2022)
Manchester United 9-0 Southampton (2021)
Leicester City 9-0 Southampton (2019)
Manchester United 9-0 Ipswich Town (1995)

Not going to plan for Arsenal this!

All over and Arsenal come from behind to continue their winning start to the season. They are top of the Premier League with 12 points from four games.

What a start by the Gunners!

Harry Kane scored twice and had a penalty saved as Tottenham fought off a gritty Nottingham Forest side at the City Ground to remain unbeaten.

Forest were positive throughout and began on the front foot but Kane punished them with a clinical finish on the break within five minutes.

Goalkeeper Dean Henderson later denied Kane from the spot and made several more important saves.

Kane confirmed victory for Spurs late on, heading in from close range.

Antonio Conte's side were made to work for their victory as Forest, pushed on by a noisy and optimistic home crowd, kept themselves in the game for large periods.

Summer signing Morgan Gibbs-White - on his first start for Forest - and forward Brennan Johnson were particularly lively for the hosts but Tottenham had numerous opportunities to extend their lead.

Son Heung-min came close either side of the break, Kane had efforts well blocked by Forest defender Joe Worrall, and Dejan Kulusevski curled a good strike wide of the post in the second half.

Henderson's save to deny Kane from the spot - after Steve Cook's handball on the line - was quickly followed by a huge chance for Forest's Neco Williams but he could not find the target.

Forest continued to push for an equaliser but Kane dealt the ultimate blow when he headed in substitute Richarlison's cross.

The points deservedly went to Spurs but it was an entertaining fixture with plenty of positives for newly promoted Forest.

Bournemouth have sacked boss Scott Parker after Saturday's 9-0 defeat by Liverpool, four games into the season.

After the loss, Parker, 41, said he was "not surprised" and said the team was "ill-equipped at this level".

"In order for us to keep progressing as a team and a club as a whole, it is unconditional that we are aligned in our strategy to run the club sustainably," said owner Maxim Demin.

"We must also show belief in and respect for one another."

Demin added: "That is the approach that has brought this club so much success in recent history, and one that we will not veer from now. Our search for a new head coach will begin immediately."

The Liverpool thrashing was Bournemouth's third straight league defeat, having won their opening match.

Gary O'Neil will take interim charge of the team and will be assisted by Shaun Cooper and Tommy Elphick.

GOAL - Southampton 1-1 Chelsea
Romeo Lavia (28 mins)

His first goal for Southampton, and what a goal!

Romeo Lavia is picked out in space on the edge of the box and the Belgian under-21 international curls a fine strike out of Edouard Mendy's reach.

A great response by the hosts. Chelsea were ahead for just four minutes.

Vieira: Zaha will stay at Palace

Crystal Palace manager Patrick Vieira says he has no doubt that Wilfred Zaha will stay at the club beyond this transfer window.

Vieira said: "I am working with him every day and there is nothing crossing my mind that something like [Zaha leaving] will happen.

"The only thing he is showing is competitiveness on the field, doing well for this football club that he loves very much."

Premier League clubs have already spent a record amount of almost £1.7bn on players this summer going into Thursday's deadline day - and that is set to rise even further.

The previous record for summer spending had been the £1.43bn spent in 2017.

The increase in spending comes after two consecutive summers shadowed by the Covid pandemic's impact on clubs' income, in which the total fees had dipped to £1.1bn last year.

Deloitte's Sports Business Group's Chris Wood said the level of spending was a sign that "the business models of Premier League clubs are rebounding post-Covid".

In fact, more has been spent this summer than in the last season's January and summer windows combined (£1.44bn).

Seventeen players have so far been signed by Premier League clubs - each of them for a reported fee of more than £30m, which compares to just eight during the 2021 summer transfer window.

The deadline for English Premier League and Football League teams is 23:00 BST on Thursday, 1 September. Scotland's deadline is an hour later.

In Spain - where Barcelona's spending spree has drawn most of the headlines - it is 23:00, in France it is 22:00, Italy's window shuts at 19:00 and Germany's deadline is 17:00 - all times BST.

Premier League clubs passed the record spending summer of 2017 with more than a week left of the window.

English top-flight clubs have made 143 signings this summer - already more than the total figures in the summer of 2019 (128) and 2020 (132). It will almost certainly pass last year's 148.

There were just 14 Premier League deadline-day signings last year - one of the lowest totals in recent years - so will we see more deals completed this time?

Manchester United have reached an agreement with Ajax to sign Brazil winger Antony, 22.

That will be an initial fee of £81.3m - the fourth most expensive signing in Premier League history - when it goes through.

United boss Erik ten Hag, who also plans to sign Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka, expects Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at the club, despite reports he wants to join a Champions League team.

Another deal not likely to go through is Chelsea's proposed signing of Anthony Gordon. The London club had a bid of £40m rejected and do not value him at more than that.

Manchester City are trying to sign Borussia Dortmund defender Manuel Akanji, who is likely to cost about £15m.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp said he would like his team to "risk more" in the transfer market as they consider midfielder reinforcements.

Will Leicester finally sign a first-team player? Alex Smithies is their only recruit so far, on a free transfer to be their third-choice goalkeeper.

What deals have already been done this summer?

Chelsea have spent a club record £248m this summer after signing Leicester defender Wesley Fofana for £70m. on 31 August.

Once the Antony signing goes through, Manchester United will have spent more than £210m to back new boss Erik ten Hag - including Feyenoord defender Tyrell Malacia, Ajax defender Lisandro Martinez and Real Madrid midfielder Casemiro - plus free agent Christian Eriksen.

Respected football website Transfermarkt says Manchester City, West Ham, Tottenham, Nottingham Forest, Newcastle, Arsenal, Manchester City and Wolves have all spent over £100m this summer - nine of the top 11 spenders in Europe.

At least seven Premier League clubs have broken their transfer record - or could if certain clauses are met.

Liverpool signed Benfica striker Darwin Nunez for a £64m fee which could rise to £85m, while Newcastle brought in Real Sociedad forward Alexander Isak for £60m.

Tottenham Hotspur signed Brazil forward Richarlison from Everton for about £60m.

Wolves landed Sporting Lisbon midfielder Matheus Nunes for £38m.

Brentford and Nottingham Forest are reported to have broken their transfer fee record multiple times.

The Bees signed Bologna left-back Aaron Hickey for a fee which could rise to £17m, and then Hull forward Keane Lewis-Potter for up to £20m.

Forest brought in Union Berlin striker Taiwo Awoniyi for a reported £17m, then Watford striker Emmanuel Dennis for up to £20m - followed by Wolves winger Morgan Gibbs-White for a fee of between £25m and £42m. They have made a total of 18 summer signings.

West Ham signed Lyon and Brazil midfielder Lucas Paqueta for £36.5m - but that could rise to a record £50m.

Leeds United signed Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Brenden Aaronson for an undisclosed fee thought to be a similar amount to £26m record signing Rodrigo.

There were plenty of huge non-record fees too. Chelsea brought in Brighton left-back Marc Cucurella for £60m and Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling for up to £50m - before signing Fofana.

Manchester City signed Erling Haaland from Borussia Dortmund for £51.2m and Leeds midfielder Kalvin Phillips for £45m.

Arsenal signed Brazil forward Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City for £45m.

Declan Rice is lucky to avoid punishment for a nasty looking challenge on Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg.

And the half-time whistle goes.

Fabio scores in the 98th minute!

2-1 LFC

Villa were unlucky.

Arsenal fans need to relax, you aint winning the Premier League.

Man City tank Forest like there is no tomorrow where as Liverpool yet again gain a nail biting win over Newcastle for the tenth time. They must rightfully be sick seeing us score last second winners against them that could be seen in their reaction. To be honest they only have themselves to blame for so much time wasting. This is why injury time that should have been 5 minutes was about two minutes more:yuvi

Arsenal ain't winning the league for heaven sake. Yeah sure they have improved so will probably finish in the top four come the end of the season. Their fans understandably excited seeing their vast improvement need to be realistic as well. Chelsea like always are buying anything that movies or is available in the market. Despite signing expensive flops like Ziyech, Pulisic and Werner to name a few average sides like Southampton put them in their place.

Haaland is looking like the real deal scoring plenty off goals already. I am looking forward to Nunez returning for for us and hopefully challenging the Man City forward.

Leicester vs Man Utd tomorrow.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp believes Fabio Carvalho's last-gasp winner against Newcastle at Anfield will be "remembered for years and years".

Erling Haaland scored his second hat-trick in as many games as rampant Manchester City outclassed newly-promoted Nottingham Forest.

Arsenal maintained their 100% start to the season to stay top of the Premier League with a narrow victory over a lacklustre Aston Villa side.

Wolves and Bournemouth battled out an uninspired draw as the managerless Cherries recovered from their 9-0 thrashing by Liverpool with a nervy clean sheet at the Vitality Stadium.

Fulham have confirmed the signing of Layvin Kurzawa on a season-long loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

HALF-TIME
Leicester 0-1 Man Utd

The half ends with Harvey Barnes seeing another cross headed away.

The whistle is greeted with a low murmur and some boos.

It is a restless home crowd. Jadon Sancho's goal is the difference.

Manchester United reeled off their third successive Premier League win under new manager Erik ten Hag to ensure Leicester City's troubled start to the season continued at The King Power Stadium.

Jadon Sancho's smooth finish from Marcus Rashford's pass after 23 minutes maintained United's recent revival and allowed them to build on victories against Liverpool and at Southampton.

United remained largely in control against an out of sorts Leicester, who are still searching for their first league win of the season and who, along with manager Brendan Rodgers, felt the impatience of the home fans.

Visiting keeper David de Gea was forced into a fine save from James Maddison's free-kick in the second half but otherwise United were rarely troubled, with Casemiro emerging as a substitute and Cristiano Ronaldo, another late replacement, coming close with an acrobatic bicycle kick.

A remarkable summer transfer window closed on Thursday with a number of new spending records set - including the most expensive ever deadline day signing in Manchester United's £82m purchase of Anthony.

That deal helped set a new Premier League spending record of about £1.9bn - smashing the previous record of £1.4bn in 2017 - and dwarfing the rest of Europe.

Nine of the 20 top flight clubs spent in excess of £100m as total expenditure bounced back after two seasons of Covid-impacted decline.

Other records included:

Premier League clubs spending more than Spain's La Liga Italy's Serie A and the German Bundesliga combined
Chelsea spending more in one window than any other club in Premier League history
Manchester United smashing its own summer spending record
Nottingham Forest signing more players in one summer than any other British club ever
The combined outlay of the 20 clubs during the window, which was open from 10 June until 1 September, was 67% higher than the previous summer's total of £1.1bn.

According to financial services firm Deloitte, the 2022/23 season already has the highest transfer spend since the two-window season began before this season's January transfer window has even taken place, exceeding the previous record of £1.86bn set in 2017-18 by 3%.

Some of Deloitte's other key findings from the window include:

Gross spending across all of Europe's 'big five' leagues - Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and Ligue 1 - increased by 52% to £3.88bn;
Premier League clubs were responsible for 49% of that spending, the highest proportion since summer 2008 and nearly three times that of the second-biggest spenders Serie A (£646m);
Premier League clubs' net transfer spend surpassed £1bn for the first time ever;
Premier League clubs signed 169 players, compared to 148 in summer 2021 and 132 in summer 2020;
The proportion of players being signed for a fee increased to 66% in summer 2022 from 45% in summer 2021;
Championship clubs' gross spend more than doubled on the previous summer to £86m but was still some way off pre-COVID levels (2017-19 three-year average: £169.4m);

Tim Bridge, lead partner in Deloitte's Sports Business Group, said: "The record level of spending during this transfer window is a clear indication of Premier League clubs' confidence, as fans return to stadia and a new broadcast cycle begins.

"It's now become part and parcel of the Premier League that clubs are willing to pay significant sums to maximise performance. This season, the desire to acquire playing talent has reached new levels as the pressure for clubs to stay in the competition is higher than ever before."

What were the deadline-day signings?

Fourteen of the 20 Premier League clubs made at least one new signing on deadline day. Highlights include:

Manchester City bolstered their defence with the signing of Switzerland international Manuel Akanji from Borussia Dortmund on a five-year deal.

As well as Antony, Manchester United completed a season-long loan deal for Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka on deadline day.

Everton signed a couple of midfielders, with Senegal international Idrissa Gueye re-joining the Toffees from Paris St-Germain and James Garner moving from Manchester United.

Liverpool also added a midfielder to the squad with Brazil international Arthur Melo joining on a season-long loan from Juventus.

Leicester signed Belgium centre-back Wout Faes from French club Reims on a five-year deal to replace Wesley Fofana, who joined Chelsea for about £70m on Wednesday.

Nottingham Forest signed three players to make it 21 new faces this summer, with defender Loic Bade the last to arrive on loan from Rennes.

Fulham had a busy deadline day, bringing in four players including former Arsenal and Chelsea midfielder Willian,

Chelsea announced the final two deals of the night, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang joining from Barcelona on a two-year deal and Switzerland midfielder Denis Zakaria joining on a season-long loan from Juventus.

It was the start of a new era at Chelsea this summer with Todd Boehly taking over the club from Roman Abramovich and the American billionaire certainly made his presence felt, spending more money in a single window than any club in Premier League history.

According to football website Transfermarkt, more than £250m was splashed out on the likes of Raheem Sterling, Marc Cucurella, Kalidou Koulibaly and Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, which is also the second-highest summer spend by any club in the world after Real Madrid (£292m) in 2019.

Manchester United broke their own spending record to sit second on the Premier League spending list.

They brought in the likes of Casermiro, Christian Eriksen and Lisandro Martinez over the summer, with their deadline-day capture of Antony taking their total spending up to around £214m - the fourth-highest summer spend by a single Premier League club ever.

It was also a summer of strikers as a number of goalscorers made big-money moves including Erling Haaland to Manchester City, Darwin Nunez to Liverpool, Gabriel Jesus to Arsenal, Gianluca Scamacca to West Ham and Alexander Isak to Newcastle - the latter two being club-record deals.

Buying a new squad
Nottingham Forest are back in the Premier League for the first time since 1999 and judging by their summer shopping they are determined to stay there.

Steve Cooper's side have embarked on an extraordinary spending spree, bringing in an incredible 21 new players for £145m, breaking the British record for most signings in a single season.

According to Transfermarkt, the previous English record was Crystal Palace in the summer of 2013 with 17 signings. The British record was previously held by Livingston in summer 2001 and Dundee United in 2000 with 19 signings.

It could have been 22 new faces but a late move to sign Belgium striker Michy Batshuayi from Chelsea fell through.

Brendan Rodgers and Scott Parker both expressed frustration at their side's lack of transfer activity - with Parker later losing his job
With such lavish sums being spent across the division the pressure has been cranked up on those clubs who may not be able to afford such exorbitant transfer fees.

Scott Parker lamented that his Bournemouth side were "ill-equipped" for the Premier League after their 9-0 thrashing by Liverpool last weekend.

Owner Maxim Demin responded by sacking him two days later, saying: "We must also show belief in and respect for one another."

Leicester have also had a quiet window, bringing in just two players and letting a number of established stars leave including goalkeeper Kasper Schmeichel and key defender Fofana, who made it clear he wanted to leave the club for several weeks before eventually completing his move to Stamford Bridge.

The Foxes have also started badly on the pitch and were booed by their own fans after Thursday's 1-0 home defeat against Manchester United left the club rooted to the bottom of the table.

Like Parker, Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers has also publicly expressed frustration at his club's lack of transfer activity, though perhaps not in quite as explicit terms as the former Cherries boss.

"I understand the fans' frustration. They see all their rivals getting players in and we're not getting any," he said after the United defeat.

"To watch clubs in the top five leagues add players and we haven't been able to do that has been difficult. We needed help and we haven't been able to do that.

"With the greatest respect, we have not had the help in the market this team needed."

Though Premier League spending reached record levels there were still a number of deals that never materialised.

Cristiano Ronaldo wanted to leave Manchester United this summer just 12 months after returning to the club from Juventus but the Portugal forward remains at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils also agreed a £63.5m deal with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong but a dispute between the Spanish club and Netherlands midfielder eventually scuppered the move after a pursuit that lasted much of the window.

Everton winger Anthony Gordon was subject of a £45m bid from Chelsea but the Toffees did not want to sell the England U21 international and eventually managed to keep him at Goodison Park.

Arsenal made a late move to sign Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz but saw two bids, the latter worth £23m, turned down by the Midlands club.

But perhaps the most unusual non-transfer story of deadline day was Bamba Dieng.

Leeds were so confident of landing the Marseille forward chairman Andrea Radrizzani tweeted that the club were set to "welcome" him to Elland Road.

But with the 22-year-old at the airport poised to head to the UK from France, Marseille's Ligue 1 rivals Nice moved in to hijack the deal.

Yet, there's more.

With a 9m euros move seemingly imminent, Dieng suffered a minor problem with the medical and the deal was off.

As Radrizzani later tweeted: "Part of the madness of deadline day".

The above graph angers me even more! West Ham and Notts Forest have easily done more net spending then Liverpool! I'm spitting blood here.

The new lads

Everton v Liverpool (12:30 BST) - the Blues could finally have Neal Maupay up top, with James Garner and Idrissa Gueye possible inclusions in midfield. New Reds signing Arthur is not expected to get international clearance in time.

Brentford v Leeds (15:00) - Leeds left it very late in the window to sign striker Willy Gnonto, who is unlikely to feature.

Chelsea v West Ham (15:00) - Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang is injured, but Wesley Fofana is available for Chelsea. Could we see Lucas Paqueta for West Ham?

Newcastle v Crystal Palace (15:00) - Surely Alexander Isak gets a second run-out for the home side.

Nottingham Forest v Bournemouth (15:00) - I mean, Forest could field two sides of summer signings. The Cherries will have a new fella in the dug out in caretaker boss Gary O'Neil.

Tottenham v Fulham (15:00) - Might Richarlison start? Deadline-day Fulham signings Willian, Dan James, Carlos Vinicius and Layvin Kurzawa await their debuts.

Wolves v Southampton (15:00) - Sasa Kalajdzic, could make his Wolves debut, as might midfielder Boubacar Traore. Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Duje Caleta-Car are two possible Saints debutants.

Aston Villa v Man City (17:30) - The Erling Haaland show continues. Manuel Akanji is unlikely to be rushed by City, but Villa have the option of Leander Dendoncker and Jan Bednarek.

Everton 0-0 Liverpool: Honours even in frantic Merseyside derby as VAR denies Conor Coady winner

Liverpool dropped further points at the start of the new Premier League season as Conor Coady was denied a fairytale winner by VAR during a frantic 0-0 draw at Everton.

After conceding first in eight of their last nine games, Liverpool were far from their best in the first half - and were fortunate not to extend that statistic when Tom Davies hit the post.

Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz both struck the woodwork within the same phase of play shortly before the interval, with Jordan Pickford getting his fingertips onto Nunez's looping shot.

Everton thought they had taken the lead on 69 minutes when Conor Coady tapped home Neal Maupay's cross-shot but VAR ruled out the goal after a lengthy delay.

The excellent Pickford touched Mohamed Salah's stoppage-time effort onto the post but Jurgen Klopp had to settle for a point which leaves Liverpool in fifth place ahead of the weekend's remaining fixtures. Winless Everton rise to 14th after a fourth consecutive draw.

Probably the best match of the season so far. Very entertaining.

Bournemouth brilliantly recovered from 2-0 behind at half-time to claim a stunning Premier League victory (2-3) against free-spending Nottingham Forest.

Jaidon Anthony was the match-winner for the visitors in the 87th minute, stroking in from Dominic Solanke's pass after the striker had dispossessed Scott McKenna deep in his own half.

Having looked out of the contest at the break, the managerless Cherries, led by caretaker Gary O'Neil, have now claimed a draw and a win since the 9-0 thrashing by Liverpool and the subsequent sacking of Scott Parker.

Their afternoon did not start well when the home side took the lead through Cheikhou Kouyate, who rose highest to power in a header from Morgan Gibbs-White's cross.

Brennan Johnson doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time from the penalty spot after a long VAR check, with Lloyd Kelly penalised for handball.

But Bournemouth showed their powers of recovery in the second period through Philip Billing's thumping long-range strike and Solanke's acrobatic effort, before Anthony sealed victory late on.

Aston Villa 1-1 Man City

It's all over!

Manchester City miss the chance to go top... and Aston Villa move out of the relegation zone.

1992

Champions Manchester City missed a chance to go top of the Premier League as Leon Bailey's equaliser earned Aston Villa an excellent draw at Villa Park.

The league's top goalscorer Erling Haaland got his 10th goal in six games when he was in the right place at the back post to volley in Kevin de Bruyne's superb cross.

After scoring in the 50th minute, Haaland had another two efforts saved by Villa keeper Emiliano Martinez and De Bruyne also hit the crossbar with a 22-yard free-kick.

Those missed chances proved costly as Bailey struck a sweet first-time shot into the top corner from Jacob Ramsey's square pass to make it 1-1 in the 74th minute.

Villa thought they had scored a winner when Philippe Coutinho put the ball in the net off the underside of the bar but the assistant referee had already put his flag up for offside.

City would have moved above Arsenal, who play at Manchester United on Sunday, with a win, but instead are second, one point behind the Gunners.

Steven Gerrard's Villa had only won one of their first five matches of the season and had been booed off after their last game at Villa Park, a 1-0 loss to West Ham.

The pressure was mounting on the former England midfielder after a 2-1 loss at Arsenal in midweek left Villa 19th in the table, but this point was enough to take them out of the relegation zone and to 17th.

But Gerrard, who called for his side to "surprise the footballing world", will be delighted with the spirit and fight his team showed to come back from a goal down as City, champions four times in the past five years, looked to claim their fifth win of the season.

City had 73% possession but Bailey scored with Villa's only shot on target in a result that Gerrard will hope will kick-start their campaign.

Meanwhile Pep Guardiola will see this as two points dropped for City and will wonder how his team did not claim the win.

The visitors should have gone ahead in only the fourth minute but England defender Kyle Walker shot wastefully wide with only Martinez to beat.

Haaland, a £51m summer signing from Borussia Dortmund, had scored back-to-back hat-tricks in City's wins over Crystal Palace and Nottingham Forest and only touched the ball 10 times in the first half.

However, he showed his class within five minutes of the restart by scoring from close range after De Bruyne's cross had looped over Martinez.

Haaland became a handful for the home defence and twice was denied by Martinez and also won a free-kick, which De Bruyne hit the bar with.

Villa's equaliser came against the run of play but City still had chances to win it late on but Riyad Mahrez and Phil Foden both missed opportunities as Villa held on for the draw.

Moises Caicedo

The goals just keep coming!

City are partly the architects of their own downfall here as James Maddison gives away the ball to Enock Mwepu, who charges forward and releases Moises Caicedo into the box. The midfielder takes a touch and lashes a shot inside the far corner.

It has taken Albion 15 minutes to turn this around.

Brighton 2-2 Leicester

Well that half flew by!

We've had four goals, both sides have led in the game but it ends level.

The best part is that we have a whole second 45 minutes to look forward to.

Manchester United's £82m new boy Antony scored on his debut and Marcus Rashford got two as Erik ten Hag's men ended Arsenal's 100% start to the season at Old Trafford.

The Brazilian opened the scoring 10 minutes before half-time in the pulsating duel, sweeping a shot into the far corner.

Rashford claimed the assist for that and then, after Bukayo Saka had levelled on the hour, the England striker profited from two clinical United counter-attacks.

Bruno Fernandes was at the heart of both, splitting the Arsenal defence for Rashford's first, then sending Christian Eriksen clear as the Dane provided the striker with a tap-in.

It was Rashford's first Premier League double since December 2020, helping lift them to fifth in the table.

Arsenal remain top. However, after their excellent start to the season, manager Mikel Arteta will be concerned at how easily his side were opened up, although the Gunners did have a first-half Gabriel Martinelli goal ruled out by VAR.

"The game was there for the taking," Artesta said. "We haven't won it because we lacked some discipline in some moments and we weren't ruthless enough in front of goal.

"If we play with more courage we win the game. It is a big lesson - if you want to win here you have to do everything so right."

Premier League fixtures will be postponed for 10 days?

I dont agree with this, the fixture list is already very congested as World Cup in winter. Now we may have to play 3 games a week for a couple of weeks.

Rumours of the next 2 matchdays being postponed. Fixture congestion between Dec 2022 and June 2023 is going to be insane once again.

<b>This weekend's match round to be postponed as a mark of respect for Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II</b>

At a meeting this morning, Premier League clubs paid tribute to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

To honour her extraordinary life and contribution to the nation, and as a mark of respect, this weekend’s Premier League match round will be postponed, including Monday evening’s game.

Richard Masters, Premier League Chief Executive, said: “We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty’s long and unwavering service to our country.

"As our longest-serving monarch, she has been an inspiration and leaves behind an incredible legacy following a life of dedication.

"This is a tremendously sad time for not just the nation, but also for the millions of people around the world who admired her, and we join together with all those in mourning her passing.”

This is aligned with the approach that The FA and EFL will take with their competitions this weekend.

Further updates regarding Premier League fixtures during the period of mourning will be provided in due course.

<b>England, Wales, Northern Ireland and Scotland call off weekend's football following death of Queen Elizabeth II</b>

All English, Welsh and Northern Irish football and professional Scottish football has been postponed this weekend as a mark of respect following the death of Queen Elizabeth II.

Ten Premier League and six Scottish Premiership fixtures were scheduled.

EFL games were due to take place on Friday and Saturday, with six Women's Super League fixtures - the first of the season - on Saturday and Sunday.

England's National League, FA Trophy and grassroots football is also off.

Play will resume in England's cricket Test against South Africa on Saturday and the Women's IT20 match between England and India will go ahead.

Golf's PGA Championship will restart on Saturday after play was halted on Thursday.

British horse racing will return on Sunday, with rugby union's Premiership season beginning on Saturday after two fixtures on Friday were postponed.

The world boxing title fight between Savannah Marshall and Claressa Shields has been postponed, with a provisional date of 15 October set for it to be rescheduled.

All British Boxing Board of Control tournaments have been postponed for the weekend.

Sunday's Great North Run will go ahead as planned, with organisers saying it is "an opportunity to come together and express our condolences while celebrating the life of our extraordinary Queen", and that the event would be "more subdued out of respect".

Queen Elizabeth II, the UK's longest-serving monarch, died on Thursday aged 96, after reigning for 70 years.

The government's national mourning guidance advised that cancelling fixtures was not obligatory, leaving the decision to individual sports.

Government guidance for the day of the funeral also advised that cancellation was not obligatory, but suggested events could be rescheduled so that they do not clash with the timings of the service.

International, domestic and recreational cricket in England will go ahead on Saturday.

In golf, the PGA Championship will resume at 06:40 BST on Saturday and the event will now be contested over 54 holes rather than 72.

Players who were still competing when Thursday's play was stopped will complete their first round before the second round begins.

The rugby union Premiership match between Bristol and Bath has been moved from Friday evening to 17:30 BST on Saturday, while Sale v Northampton will be played on Sunday at 15:00 BST.

All other Premiership matches on Saturday and Sunday will go ahead as scheduled, but senior rugby in Wales has been suspended.

Formula 1 held a minute's silence with all teams prior to practice on Friday for the Italian Grand Prix, with the race weekend to proceed as planned.

At the tennis US Open in New York, there was a moment of silence before the first women's semi-final match on Thursday with the first men's semi-final on Friday.

In rugby league, the Super League play-off between Catalans Dragons and Leeds is on Friday, with Huddersfield and Salford playing on Saturday. The Championship fixture between Sheffield Eagles and Dewsbury Rams has been postponed.

The British Elite Ice Hockey League said the weekend's season-opening games would go ahead as planned.

The Football Association said fixtures between 9 and 11 September are postponed, adding that as a "long-standing patron" of the FA the Queen "has left a lasting and indelible legacy on our national game".

The Premier League and EFL have confirmed that all fixtures will be rescheduled.

While policing was not a factor in postponing this weekend's Premier League games, it is understood it could be a consideration in next weekend's games depending on state funeral arrangements.

There is confidence fixture congestion can be solved in the second half of the season and a meeting will be held next week to discuss the calendar with relevant bodies.

The Premier League took the decision to honour the Queen's "extraordinary life and contribution to the nation" and said updates on future fixtures during the period of mourning "will be provided in due course".

The league's chief executive Richard Masters said: "We and our clubs would like to pay tribute to Her Majesty's long and unwavering service to our country.

"This is a tremendously sad time for not just the nation but also for the millions of people around the world who admired her, and we join together with all those in mourning her passing."

In Scotland, the postponements include the Scottish Professional Football League, Scottish Women's Premier League and Scottish Highland and Lowland Football Leagues, as well as Women's Scottish Cup fixtures.

SPFL chief executive Neil Doncaster said it was appropriate to "mark the event with all possible solemnity" and added that there would be a further update "when we have clarity over official arrangements for Her Majesty's funeral".

The Women's Super League was preparing to kick off the 2022-23 season this weekend with clubs enjoying record ticket sales following England's summer success at Euro 2022.

Tottenham were scheduled to host Manchester United in the larger main stadium used by their male counterparts, the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, while Chelsea were set to welcome West Ham to Stamford Bridge.

Tickets had sold out for Manchester City's fixture against Arsenal at the 7,000-capacity Academy Stadium on Sunday.

Reading have five times the amount of season ticket holders compared to last year, while reigning champions Chelsea sold out their 1,500 season tickets for the second season in a row.

British racing has been cancelled on Saturday but will resume on Sunday, with the exception of Musselburgh in Scotland.

The world's oldest Classic race, the St Leger, has been put back 24 hours and will feature in an extended nine-race card at Doncaster.

While Chepstow is also set to go ahead on Sunday, Musselburgh's meeting has been called off due to the Queen lying in state in Edinburgh.

British Horseracing Authority chief executive BHA chief executive Julie Harrington said the Queen had "an enduring and unique" relationship with the sport.

"The return of racing on Sunday will see the running of the St Leger, one of Britain's five Classic races and a race which the Queen won with her filly Dunfermline in 1977," she said.

"This will also provide an opportunity for the sport and its supporters to pay its respects to Her Majesty, for the contribution which she has made to the sport to be marked."

Yes sadly its off. So many fans spent so much money for this. The fighters spent so much time training. If people want to mourn, sure but those want life to continue should be allowed to. Its 2022 not 1066.

This weekend’s postponed Premier League games won’t be played until January at the earliest adding more congestion to an already 'brutal' schedule.

Due to police resourcing reasons.

As a Liverpool die hard this break could be a blessing for us. This will allow us to regroup and possibly get some injured players fit for what will be a very busy period ahead. With an awful start to the season the boys need to have a good hard look at themselves.

Chelsea too after dismissing Thomas Tuchel may benefit from a break too.

Quite pleased with the break for Leeds.

Gives us a chance to get Rodrigo, Bamford and Ayling back up to full fitness.

Manager Marco Silva said there are still "a lot of fights ahead" despite Fulham producing a thrilling comeback win over Nottingham Forest at the City Ground.

Fulham scored three goals in six minutes to pick up their third victory of the Premier League season so far.

"[The start of the season] has been really good. As well some games in the beginning of the season we should have got more points because we deserved it," said Silva.

"But it is just seven games. It is the start of the season. We go into the international break with confidence then we prepare for the next one.

"A lot of fights ahead of us. We are happy with how we started but we have to keep going."

Forest had led early on when Taiwo Awoniyi headed in a corner but were stunned by a remarkable Fulham comeback in the second half.

Tosin Adarabioyo headed in the equaliser after 54 minutes, before Joao Palhinha's stunning strike made it 2-1.

Before Forest could catch their breath, Harrison Reed stroked in a third.

Fulham appeared to take control of the match as the second half wore on but a wonderful flick from Forest substitute Jesse Lingard set Brennan Johnson free and he teed up Lewis O'Brien.

Momentum switched back to Steve Cooper's side but time ran out to score another as Fulham clung on for a victory which saw them move up to sixth place in the table.

"It was a fantastic feeling for us even if we suffered a little in the last few minutes and they had belief they could score again," added Silva.

"I have to congratulate the players because it is really tough to do something they have done. It's the way we work and prepare for the game to learn every single day.

"We are a group and a unit working hard to achieve. We believe in ourselves and always trust in ourselves."

Meanwhile, it was the second Premier League match in a row Forest have thrown away a lead after their 2-0 advantage over Bournemouth ended in a 3-2 victory for the Cherries two weeks ago.

Fulham, who finished 10 points ahead of Forest in the Championship last season, had chances in both halves but were also heavily tested by the hosts.

Awoniyi and Morgan Gibbs-White both came close for Forest, while goalkeeper Dean Henderson was forced into saves to deny Fulham's Aleksandar Mitrovic, Kenny Tete and Andreas Pereira.

In the end, a ruthless six minutes from Fulham did the damage as Forest were again humbled by the harsh realities of life back in the top flight.

Both teams had observed a minute's silence prior to kick-off, before supporters sang the national anthem and applauded on the 70th minute in tribute to the late Queen Elizabeth II.

A Las Vegas-led consortium is aiming to complete a takeover of Premier League club Bournemouth by the end of October.

It is believed that Bill Foley, owner of the National Hockey League (NHL) team Las Vegas Golden Knights, is leading the bid.

The consortium has entered a period of exclusivity over the purchase of the club with terms and a price for the purchase already agreed.

Bournemouth were promoted from the Championship in May.

The club are owned by Russia-born businessman Maxim Demin.

Subject to a review from the Premier League, the new owners hope to be in position at the Vitality Stadium by the end of next month.

It would be the latest American investment into the English top flight after a group led by Todd Boehly took over Chelsea in May.

Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Aston Villa, Crystal Palace, Fulham, Leeds, West Ham and Manchester City all also have US investment on some scale.

Speaking at a news conference before Saturday's game at Newcastle, Bournemouth caretaker manager Gary O'Neil said he had not been informed of any imminent change in the ownership of the club.

"I haven't heard anything of it over my side," he said.

"We're working on the football side, making sure we are fit, ready and sharp. I haven't heard any chat around a takeover."

RED CARD FOR WOLVES

Wolves 0-2 Man City

HAD to go!

Jack Grealish collects the ball on the left touchline and in comes Nathan Collins with a nasty challenge, studs up straight into the Manchester City player's midriff.

Anthony Taylor has no hesitation in bringing out the red card immediately.

You don't need VAR to have a look at that one again.

FULL-TIME
Newcastle 1-1 Bournemouth

All over.

Newcastle have won just once from seven league games this season.

Bournemouth, meanwhile, are unbeaten in three after that 9-0 hammering at Liverpool. Quite a turnaround under Gary O'Neil.
