Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

Can't wait to see Ser Gregor Clegane next season. He's been kept away for too long. I mean, Gregor is basically everywhere in the books.. Everyone, anywhere has something to say about the mountain, yet we dont see much of him on HBO. Baddest man by far in the series, anyone believeing Joffrey, Tywin or even the mad king to be anywhere near Gregor's ferociousness knows nothing. :adnan

Of course he is, even the show is full of hints. But I don't know what impact it will have.

I think Daenarys will only have one dragon when she arrives to Westeros, rest will be with Aegon and Jon.

Or maybe Bran.

Can't wait to see a war between dragon rider :)

Re: Game of Thrones

Would love to see a Mad King flashback. I heard scenes were shot but got snipped.

Do you think he is?

Don't really care too much about the prophecies to be honest. What happened to the stallion who mounts the world? nd down there at Dragonstone we got Mellisandre trying to awaken the stone dragon. Guess the prophecies are made just to get people thinking and getting more involved with the plot. The possibilities are endless in this series.

I wish to see Rhaeger Targaryen-Lyanna Stark.

gregor is just mad dog that tywin lets of the lease every now and then thats it.

He probably woud have had more scenes but the guy who played him in season one is doing the Hobbit movies now and his replacement isnt anything great

his fight with the red viper should be in season4 though unless they change things

The character thats been most missed is Great Jon Umber

Guess it would have been nice to show bits of his ongoing madnesses once in a while. I mean they show the iron men once or twice perseason. Can do the same for Gregor, him being such an integral part of the story.

Yeah.. missed Greatjon as well. Robb's greatest supporter. :(

Gregor was more in the TV show than in the book. In the book, you see him twice, once in the Tournament at the start and once in the trial. In the TV show, he was added into Harrenhal.

Just watched the latest episode. No words to describe what just transpired. I have never read the books and had absolutely no clue that was about to happen. What a turn of events. Tragic, but I am sure was necessary for the longevity of the series.

I am sad to see both Rob Stark and his mother gone. I liked their characters. Rob seemed a man of strong convictions, noble and fit to be king.

You must be joking right? Robb was an idiot; he promised Lord Walder that he'll marry one of his daughters but broke the pledge in a jiffy.

His Mum was pretty dumb do.

I dislike the Starks personally; they are rough, emotional and pretty thick.

But I really like Bran and Arya.

Also, Jaqen H'gar and Daario Naharis FTW.

indeed, "simple northern folk" unequipped to deal with the machinations in the south.
Arya is a bad ass simply because she is now operating beyond her programming!

Bran and Jon also the same.

I dont dislike them coz i just detest the lannisters totally. And the freys? well heres hoping they all get wiped out to a man and walders castle is burnt down to a crisp, with Arya returning and slitting the old mans throat when he least expects it!

Danny would lose half the supporters then for Stannis would have been the fair king. Everyone from the highest lords to lowest gutter rats would have paid for their sins. Stark girls sent home, Lannisters executed. You dont want to deny Danny from being the breaker of chains. That makes me believe the realm would still be in the control of evil when she arrives in Westeros.

How does the Game of Thrones compare to xena warrior princess and hercules the legendary journeys television series of the 90's? Please don't be biased. Because having watched the GOT memories of those shows in the 90's have returned to me and they were brilliant looking back, but am just wondering if xena warrior princess/hercules legendary journeys were released in this era right now, i wonder how they would be received?

I have watched the first two seasons, but wondering if i should stop and begin reading the books? or is it better to continue watching the show and then read the books after?

Since you have already started the show only start reading , if you don't mind spoilers and a few plot differences, some which are pretty big.

I didn't know the show was based on the books. I think it would be difficult to enjoy the books having watched the series when you know what is going to happen

You would think so but the books are done in a way so each chapter is from the point of veiw of one character. So you don't get the full story sometimes

The shows presents itself so well that it never really bothered me knowing what will happen. Plus a few changes have happened

Did you watch the show and then read the books after?

I had the read the books sometime ago and have been re reading them now.

The last 2 books are yet to be released. The author is notorious for taking his time

Yeah he took five years before he released A feast for crows. I ordered the first three will begin reading them this week. I guess you are right about it not making much a difference whether i read the books first and then watcehd the series or the other way round because it depends on the genre and the way the story is written. For example i tried reading shutter island having watched the movie but i just could not do it.

Daario Naharis will be played by another guy in season 4, sadly.

Just started watching the DVD set of season 1.

Splendid stuff! Not quite as good as The Wire but a lot easier to follow.

Make sure there are no kids around when you watch :moyo

Which episode are you on?

Well, I would say that those were infantile rubbish, while GoT (the four episodes I have seen) is more like a cross between The Lord of the Rings and The Sopranos. Really gripping, complex plotting, adult themes.

You should stop posting and reading this thread if you abhor spoilers :malik

Robert banish yourself from this thread until you have watched all the episodes, way too many spoilers

surprised this hasnt been bumped yet

a mini teaser for season 4 has been out for a while now

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="//www.youtube.com/embed/yz1r3_HbTJM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

yes the second last guy is Jaime

I finished reading all the books and think the Dorne arc was pretty interesting. Also Quaithe's prophecy becoming part true as Danny had to go east in order to go west. I think she will defeat all the remaining Khals and usurp their armies and then march on Mereen.

bloody hell how long did it take you? am still on the first one its been like 2-3 months have just read a quarter, George Martin goes in so much detail when it comes to description.

!

Boltons seem to handle it fine and Catelyn isn't northern.

Robb was just naive and thinking with the wrong head. He was a very poor King.

1. Champion of Mereen
2. Tyrion's trial
3. Joffrey's wedding
4. Jaime writing in the White book
5. Sansa in the Eyrie

Took me about 4 months, got this really cool offer for all the books so far for £30. I must say the way the books are planned (2 books remaining, possibly in four parts) I don't think it will have a thrilling ending. There are too many open plots at the moment, Bran being taught by the Children of the Forest, Arya being taught by the Faceless Men, makes you wonder how the author will tie up all these loose ends.

I have now watched to the end of season three!

Having not read the books, I reckon that Tyrion will kill his father and nephew and eventually take over the whole of Westeros, and then it'll come down to him vs. Dani.

She'll win and then sort the White Walkers out with her dragons.

I bought the first GOT book and some others in excitement after i finished watching all the seasons, but i have not been reading it on a consistent basis why do you think this is? Is it because of the fact that i watched all the seaons already or maybe its because of the slow pace of the book. I've enjoyed the harry potter fantasy series but am more into horror and thrillers.

I really want to finish reading the GOT books so i can read some of the new thrillers i bought but its taking long and don't know why.

Finished many series since 3rd season including Breaking Bad, Suits, etc etc.. Waiting for the 4th season to commence..

starting rewatching from season 1, wanna be done before season 4 comes out.. so far im on episode 7.
