Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

Are you a reader of books? Without soiling anything for anyone here, can you tell if there's any 'good' that's going to happen in the next 4 episodes?

Yeah no, books cannot help you here as the show has completed butchered the plot-lines and have no similarity with the books at this point except for maybe the Arya sotry

being a fellow book reader here is what i see happening, do let me know what you think will happen

Dorne

ummm, big mess, destroyed my favorite part of a FoC. I will be content however if we get Jamie burning cersies letter

Kings Landing

Cersi's walk, dont see a lot more happening

Bravos

Arya will kill Myran Trant who is headed there with Mace Tyrell

Mereen

Pit scene after along with Dany meeting Tyrion. I can see the final scene of the series being Drogan flying off with Dany on his back

the Wall

For the watch, though i reckon this will happen in ep 9 and jon will be brought back one way or another in ep 10. He is too high profile to kill then keep secret of his return before S6. Also Samwell being sent to the Citadel is a foregone conclusion

Winterfell

most confused and worried about. I want Stannis to win. I reckon from a book perspective he has to win. It will serve his purpose for the story, will bring Melisandra to Jon whilst retaking the north for Rickon to presumably return with Davos. Its shortly after this battle i expect Stannis to die given how often in the book we have heard of 'He will Bend before he will Break ".

Personally i reckon this will happen in the show

- Sansa plans to escape along with Reek who is now Theon again, They light the candle, Breinne comes finds them, they all get found by Stannis. After that i have no idea. We have the foreshadowing of Breinne killing stannis, but i can see her taking the place of Asha Greyjoy in the books.

Also i reckon Stannis will learn from Theon what happened to Bran and Rickon and will send Davos on their trail. I can see the Umbers taking the place of the people from Skaagos

The storyline revolving around Cersei and her dabbling with the Order certainly comes to a rousing conclusion.

Granny Tyrell will surely spill the beans about Cersei? And there was Lena Headley's much talked about naked walk.. Looks obvious

I don't get it.

They have been showing lancel almost every episode

Even non book readers should see what's coming

Much better 7th episode. This season seems picking up the pace.

Still there is a void left with quite a few leading characters leaving the scene and emerging ones still developing.

Yah, great episode. Big improvement on recent weeks. Diana Rigg and Jonathan Pryce are a joy to watch.

The programming remains quality but it's so predictable and boring. Last couple of episodes should be more interesting.

I don't know. This season barring two or three amazing scenes featuring either Jon, Stannis and Tyrion - have largely been disappointing. Nothing to get the blood racing.

I've started to enjoy Ramsay's scenes. That guy is an amazing actor! The music when Jon Snow was leaving for north of the wall reminded me of red wedding. I just hope nothing happens to him! Tyrion, Dany finally met.. I'm sure he won't be treated nice anytime soon. Lannister!

A decent episode and finally sand snakes not looking that stupid but still feel the rush in terms of story but looking damn slow in terms of direction i don't know if anyone else feels this.

I've started to enjoy Ramsay's scenes. That guy is an amazing actor!

He's in an English sitcom with Sir Ian McKellen at present so I'm guessing that he gets killed off this series, probably by Brienne, and not before time! Horrid little man!

I was actually about to give up on current series but episode from last night changed my mind.. One of the top three episodes ever from all 5 seasons!!

Chilling episode! Winter has finally arrived! All the stories about the 7 kingdoms seem so much irrelevant now. Jon Snow is the best character on the show. Doesn't matter what happens to him in the future, but he will remain the hero of the series for me!

So a couple of digitized special effects made you change your mind? :afridi

It's the overall production quality.. The CGI of the king of white walkers is one of the best I have seen in while..

Yes, but why should CGI alone change your perception of a season whether it was good or bad? Shouldn't it be the story and the overall season?

No not just cgi of course.. It's like nothing happened the entire season.. Then all of a sudden Tyriin met the queen..

(Contd.. Arya started her training and last but not least, winter finally is here!!! It's like all three events fans have been eagerly waiting happened all of a sudden.. Also mind blowing action at the end.. It was very ominous atmosphere built by great special effects and high production values.. I loved it!

During the whitewalker attack of the latest episode, I was making dua for Jon Snow to not die. Really looked like he was going to get killed off the way he was spitting blood and getting outnumbered by the whitewalkers towards the end.

That last episode was TV at its finest. Amazing episode.

Loved the ending. Frost Darth Maul was like "come at me crow"

Finally a proper episode but i still think they kingdom stories are getting messed up.

The last episode is called mother of mercy. I really hope lady stoneheart comes and along and does the deed..heres hoping!! what a great cliffhanger that would be!!

Aye, and dragonglass is not all that kills White Walkers - Valerian steel does too! And that look The Night's King gave poor Jon - as if to say - all right, you're pretty hard, now look what I can do.

Best episode of this season. I doubt it will be topped by last next two.
I have a suspicion that Dragon's fire will also be lethal to White Walkers.

Possibly, though the High Sparrow referred to that earlier - I think it means Cersei's walk of shame.

But it could mean both, in the same way that 4.13 "The Children" could have meant the Tyrion's patricide / the delinquent dragons / the forest elves / Arya's sea voyage.

lol oh if I could tell yu whats coming for Jon..lol

yeah I heard that, but I really wish they would do a proper cliffhanger this year!!

Best episode of the season but that doesn't excuse the rubbish that came before it.

Can anyone tell me why White Walkers decided to march on now? Didn't the northerners had some treaty with them where they'd give them a newly born child periodically if they didn't attack ?

I think it's because the dude who would give them newborn sons got killed, and all his daughters / wives escaped, so no one was giving them newborn sons anymore to expand their army.

Maybe someone else can give a more thorough answer.

Because Winter is finally here

The season is nearly over yet it feels like barely anything has happened. Last episode was an exception I suppose.

That was a twisted episode; how to commit mass genocide in 15min or less WW guaranteed. How many did Jon even save, at most a few hundred?

Ep 9 has been ether an epic battle or a tragic episode every season so far.

Ned being excuted
Battle of Blackwater
Red Wedding
Wilding invasion

I hate the fact that you have to wait for centuries for the new season to start and then it is over in a blink of an eye, and then you have to wait again.

read the books, way more interesting!

Have read all of them. I am no longer disappointed with how much the show has deviated from the books, I consider the two as completely different versions of the same universe now, which is why I am now enjoying the series a lot more than I did earlier this season or the one before.

cool...wjat do you think of the alleged removal of the young griff and lady stoneheart storylines?

Lady Stoneheart's exclusion makes sense because I think most of the viewers wouldn't have liked the idea of her coming back, especially because she does not really add much to the story anymore, but the bad thing about her exclusion is that Jamie's Riverrun storyline had to be scrapped, and this whole Dorne angle is the weakest part of the show at the moment.

Young Griff should definitely have been there, because it is obvious that he will play a major part in the last two books, but on the other hand, the directors already know the ending because Martin has told them, so if they couldn't do without him they would have included him. Maybe another factor is that the show is slowly but surely reaching its climax now, and introducing another Targ this late into the series might take the focus away from Dany and the eventual big reveal, so perhaps that's the reason why that idea has been shunted.

So Jon Snow is a Targargen?

Will be he stabbed by his brothers and rise again as a Ghost. I feel he will lead White Walkers in future.

Well they just destroyed my favorite character from the books

Truly it is two different stories now

What i enjoyed most in episode 8 of this season was not just the battle but that Cersei is in jail. I just hate her!

I hope Ramsay flays the hell out of Stannis. Originally wanted him to take the iron throne, but now I hope he dies in the worst way possible. :bhatti

Shireen's screams were painful to say the least.

Yeh I too was rooting for Stannis until he did that, I really hope his Hand guts that little ****

Book Stannis: "half my men are unbelievers. There will be no burnings"

Book Stannis: "Orders his knight to go to Bravos and gather an army to support his daughter in the event of his death"

Show Stannis: loses a few horses "I'm going to burn my daughter"

And people were saying the show writers weren't doing a hatchet job

GRRM apparently told the writers that Shireen was going to be sacrificed in book 6 anyway..

In completely different circumstances and not for such a cheap reason.

Also might not even be Stannis who burns her

Wow I thought episode 8 (Hardhome) was brilliant, episode 9 (The Dance of Dragons) was truly epic!

in the books Shireen, Selyse and Mel are still at castle black, most likely she will be burned by Mel in order to resurrect Jon Snow imo

plus in the book there is no hint of Stannis wanting to burn his daughter. Quite the opposite in fact, it goes against his obsession of bloodlines and as others have pointed out he orders his Knights to take vow to carry on the fight in the name of his daughter if he dies at Winterfell.

last episode ended with ice
this one with fire

but boy the cgi was rubbish at the end

The fight scene at the end was LOL-inducing. The CGI looked like i was watching chota bheem.

Stannis sacrificing his daughter looked pretty forced and it was obvious they wanted to add some extra shock value since its the ninth episode of the season and all.

This is the first time i am feeling underwhelmed by a GoT episode, hope the season finale can live up to its standard.

First that filthy rape and now this? did the lord of light really need that sacrifice? will all of this be worth it for stannis in the end? maybe for a short time before danerys triumphs.....

Ah heck. Might you spoilerise that sort of post in future?

He didn't just lose a few horses, he is stuck in a snow storm in the north

fighting against northerners. He has lost his siege weapons and food, they are all going to die there.

He sacrificed Robert's son in the books too and burned many people (Mance, his vassals,...). He also had his brother killed. Not only that but Melisandre showed her power to him by kiling Renly, Robb, Joffrey,... She also sacrificed some people to get winds for their boats.

It's not that out of character for him to choose duty (saving his kingdom) over love (his daughter).

So exactly the same scenario as in the book?

He also never sacrificed Edric. Edric Storm is still alive in the books.

He had the traitor Renly killed but Renly was a traitor with absolutely no possible claim to the throne

The sacrifice part will be in the next book.

In the books h burns his father in law for trying to kidnap daughter for the lannisters

In the show he burns him for being an "infidel then burns his daughter as well'

They have messed it up big time everything is looking forced and its boring at times.8th episode was good and yesterday was messedup in sense not the cruelty but the way its being directed and written.

The last scene of Daenerys looked really forced and the writers are now just relying on surprises. Hardhome is probably the highest point in the entire series. It had a purpose and the actors, Snow, Tormund et al, did a great job. The way it was handled was just amazing. Dance of Dragons is the series' jump the shark moment...

And, what is the point of Arya Stark's story at all?! I hope she dies. Selling stupid oysters all the time. Annoying as hell

:)))

I actually supported Stannis he seemed an honourable candidate king. But what he did to shireen was disgusting. There was no real build up it just happened. Aryas storyline is dragging on. Same with Daenerys i thought the unsullied were the most fierce and destructive army ever. and they get owned so easily by a bunch of amateurs the sons of harpy. On the plus side Cersei is finally getting punished for her sins.

It was so unnecessary

Books are way better..the last scene with the dragon is handled better in the books..
