Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

Stupid red witch... Stupid stannis.

Only sensible guy in the show left is tyrone and jon snow me b4 he got dumb and joined enemies

Jon Snow is the man. Hope he does not get killed off. He is the one true hero in the show, me thinks.

fighting against northerners. He has lost his siege weapons and food, they are all going to die there.

He sacrificed Robert's son in the books too and burned many people (Mance, his vassals,...). He also had his brother killed. Not only that but Melisandre showed her power to him by kiling Renly, Robb, Joffrey,... She also sacrificed some people to get winds for their boats.

It's not that out of character for him to choose duty (saving his kingdom) over love (his daughter).

Except that in the book, he's in a worse situation, and hasn't resorted to burning random soldiers (despite his knights' insistences), let alone his only daughter. This totally goes against his latest appearance in the book, where he orders one of his Knights to raise an army for his daughter should he fail against the Boltons.

Show Stannis and Book Stannis are different. This doesn't mean that one is better than the other. Show Stannis is more religious and tbf how can he not be after what he saw Melisandre do. The one time he didn't listen to her he lost the battle. He entirely believes what she tells him and, in this case, it was save your daughter or save the realm. I bet the snows are going to lift next episode and he'll end the season on the gates of Winterfell, which may change some people's perspective. I personally don't hold the decision against him. As he said, it's not a sacrifice if you don't lose anything. And he lost a lot to save his people. I also like the way it mirrored the Iliad.

The episode was really good for the most part. It's the ending that was underwhelming. I loved the way the harpies were really menacing but it all felt pretty stupid when she started petting the dragon and then just flew away. Wish they didn't include that.

9/10 though.

The only reason left for me to watch the show is Jon Snow, and Tyrion, to an extent. Going by what is being said about the next episode, I might consider not to watch this show at all! If the show runners think showing Khaleesi in all grandeur is going to suffice, they couldn't have been more wrong..

Dont worry, bud. I dont think our fav character will be killed off.. He will come back.

His storyline is much more than just this as the mystery of his lineage is still unresolved and I dont think he will be killed off until it is resolved.

There are rumors he is the son of Ned STARK's sister Lyanna and Rhaegar Targaryen, the noble prince.

Unfortunately Daenarys is very popular with the casual fans.

They should have her fall down the stairs and die in season 6. The ******** would break the internet.

Annoying, self-righteous and deluded.

Can't wait for her to find out that she isn't the rightful heir.

I dreaded her chapters in the later books.

pages and pages about food and bloody daario

Yeah I am not a big fan of the KHaleesi either anymore. I used to be.

Jon Snow, Arya and the Midget are my favorites now. Have not seen much of Doran but he looks solid as well.

I wonder why Bran and Rickon's storyline was abandoned this season.

Another annoying character. What is her point?

what do u mean by what is her point? she is trying to be an assasin ! you do not become like in 1 day ...IMO It fits with the time scale lasted in the season !

Did you find her story line interesting this season? Probably they could have not cast her this season just like Bran (which also justifies your time scale :)) ) . Waste of precious 15 min per episode.

i disagree.. i think its building up to something..
man of many faces has a mystery.. what do they do with those dead bodies.. what are they really?

I think you will get a payback out of it if you continue following it.

Who is he?

I've found this series to be quite disappointing compared to previous series.

Maybe I was expecting too much and the hype was huge.

HIs name is Alexander Siddig, first became popular playing the character of Dr, Julian Bashir on Star Trek Deep Space Nine.

Wonderful actor and his portrayal of Doran Martell is excellent. A man of strong character who is wheel chair bound and is not a war monger like the rest of the rulers in Westeros.

Wish we see more of him in future.

books are way better..the dragon scene in the books was full of danger and dani just somehow manages to get out alive..also they've cut it to shreds and got rid of characters plotlines etc that made things interesting..martin better get off his fat behind and finish the winds of winter as the tv series will spoil all the cool bits!!

From what I've heard the TV series and books have diverged significantly now and it seems that the relation between the two is slowly diminishing..

I personally don't like Doran's casting. No doubt Alexander Siddig is a top notch actor, but he is totally off the mark as far as the image that I have/had of Doran from the books, does not ooze the same calmness, serenity and thoughtfulness, and looks physically fitter and younger than he should.

Plus that scene was very important for Dany as Drogon had not come to rescue her but was out of control and killing everyone. She uses a whip to tame her and gets a bit injured/burned in return. Instead of the victim Dany we see who was rescued by everyone and Drogon, she was the mother of the dragons who tamed her violent son and rode him

exactly, much better...this version was just tame and perhaps just reflects hollywoods disdain for strong female characters...

Check out the "previously on" for GoT on YouTube. It's been leaked.

A certain somebody is expected to show up tonight after a long long time.

Brutal, tragic, sad .. overwheming. Cant find enough words...

Wont see it again for nearly a year.

I counted 5 characters supposed deaths. Too much.

The last scene is what I didn't want to see happen.. :'(

As soon as that kid came in telling him they found his
, I knew there was something fishy.

Snow was the only likable character in the whole show. He (partly Stannis) was the only one who realized the main danger in the whole scheme of things. I hope the Night's king freezes the entire world to death, starting with Night's watch.

Jon Snow will be back. There is no way I believe that's the end of him.

Remember that red witch has brought people back from the death before.

And without Jon Snow there is no story at the wall, so no doubt he will be back.

It looks like a collective wish from many but don't think it will happen

Night's watch and Tyrion lanister's character have been two best things in the series. I don't know how will they keep night's watch interesting without Jon.

Of course he will be back.

Why would Mel come to the wall just before Jon get's killed?

Remember the white-walker and the wall is big part of game of thrones and they won't kill the only guy who is keeping the whole story together.

Am I the only one who thought that episode ending sucked??

The NW had literally ages to kill him off if they didnt like Snow, and that dumbass kid kills the guy who got him into the watch man what a retard.

Not only that but are the NW really so stupid as to not see the benefits of Snow getting the northerners behind the wall?? Bloody retards the lot of them.

Rest of the episode was fine.

On the whole this season has been average. Brienne and Podrick did literally nothing all season, Snow did great then dies for no reason at all, Danaerys sucked as a city leader, Tyrion just traveled to Meereen and that dumbass fool of a woman in Dorne has been given countless chances to be sensible but continues acting like a moron trying to kill everyone and gets chance after chance after chance man just execute her already.

Ned, fine. Robb, fine. But why Snow? The scene between him and Night's king was the best of the entire series! Why him?!! We want more of Snow,...

Jon Snow has to come back. No way you can develop a character for 5 seasons straight and kill him off like this. I know this is GoT where there are no happy endings, but I have a good feeling that Jon will return.

Melisandre came back to the night's watch for a reason, and if a person from NW dies, isn't his watch over? Maybe Jon dying and coming back would allow him to get into the conflicts in the rest of Westeros, and let the bloody NW get mauled by the WWs.

Jon's war is with the white walkers and he's not concerned about the petty Westeros. Why would you want him to go back?

Except couple of fighting scenes, Dany's story has been boring from the first season with no action, no wit and no thrill. It does not has any of the entertainment ingredients like comedy, adventure, horror , action or thrill.

May be producers think that tragedy could make the ending memorable.

Many folk tales have sad endings. Gladiator and Bravehart also have tragic ending but this episode's ending makes you mad and frustrated.

Jon's war is with the white walkers and he's not concerned about the petty Westeros. Why would you want him to go back?

Why else would Melisandre return to the night's watch at that time? He's the only one left with king's blood who can be reincarnated into Azor Ahai. She prophesied that the "rightful king" will reclaim Winterfell, and while that prediction may have been right, the rightful king may have been Jon Snow all along and not Stannis, maybe she realized this when defeat was imminent for Stannis and returned to the NW.

It also doesn't make much sense for Jon to fight alongside NW after they stabbed him in the back (pun intended).

It's all speculation at this point, but I highly doubt Jon is dead for good.

Great ending.

Surely that cant be the end of Jon Snow?

George RR Martin: "Oh, you think he's dead, do you?"

Yeah remember that too.

Though Kit Harrington said that he won't be there for season 6 or the one after. He's been told by the directors that "you're done". But for all we know, he may have been paid to say that. Why would he say "oh yeah, don't worry I'll be back next season" hours after the season finale? That wouldn't make much sense.

Apparently jon snow is the son of Rhaegar and Eddards Starks sister theres a whole theory out there, he wont die, he will be revived

George RR Martin: "Oh, you think he's dead, do you?"

Took him a year to to write the response to that question. I still remember when he leaked a preview on his website with "you think"; and the debates that ensued of what it could suggest. It was so great when he finally revealed his full answer, but like classic Martin, it resolved nothing.

It has being 5 years and she has not reached any where near Kings landing... In that much time 5 parties come and go in Pakistan.

Plots keep on changing, lot of distractions... Many Story threads become dead after a season, don't reach to any conclusions within season...no sense of purpose and cohesiveness [emoji15][emoji15]

At least it's like life random and lot to be desired, no happily ever after[emoji6][emoji6]. Chacha Martin's art is about unfulfilled promises... Like Shoiab Akthar many character, have so much potential but so near yet so far at the end!!

From memory the theory is that he's going to spend some time in Ghost (making the name really fitting) before getting drawn out of the wolf and into a new body.

From a narrative perspective, the wall has to fall anyway

Somewhat expected but probably the most pointless season so far in addition to cutting of many characters from the book the writing has been shabby with various forced actions of characters.
Feel the cruelty or gore is being shown just for the sake of it unlike other seasons.

How far we have come from this ! Missing the glory days :(

When right at the end they zoomed in on his face.. I was hoping against hope that he blinks, so that we might have some hope of him surviving.. That would have been epic.

Jon Snow will be back, 100%. He is the Song of Ice and Fire.

Maester Aemon's "kill the boy, and let the man be born'' statement has deeper meaning than what it may seem initially.

Only thing that bothers me is the series is heading for a very predictable ending, hopefully Martin has something up his sleeve that will surprise most of the speculators.

The issue of Jon's true lineage is not resolved. He is certainly the son of Rhaegar Targaryan and Lyana Stark. Without that part getting closure, I dont think Martin will kill him off. He might be gone for a while but he will come back to team up with his aunt Dany, Tyrion and put an end to the Lannisters and Whitewalkers, with help from Bran , of course.

...and I agree Mamoon it is starting to look pretty predictable. Let us hope in the book Martin throws some surprises and turns the story on its head.

**** I'm not watching this show if Snow does not come back alive. Only reason i watched this show was cuz of snow.

And wasnt it awkward for you guys watching that shame shame scene with parents or friends??

I'd never in a million years watch this with my parents, lol. I watch it in privacy on my laptop.

Dude.... Its not a show to watch with parents. whats wrong with you. LOL.

That scene was brutal though. You have to give it to Lena Headey for doing it. It takes a lot of guts to pull something like that off.

And for the umpteenth time, Jon will come back. Maybe in another form or whatever, but his story has NOT ended..

I think the White Walkers are a metaphor for climate change. The corporations (Lannisters, Boltons, Baratheons) tear each other apart, not realising that there is a much greater enemy.

And the nightwatch are what? Hippies? who will eventually take up arms (placards) against the corporations?

:)

Jokes aside, I agree with the symbolism there.

I think the white walkers are a direct inspiration from scripture of Gog and Magog (Yajooj Majooj in Arabic).

The wall is clearly an inspiration from the Quranic chapter titled the Cave, where the story of Yajooj Majooj is discussed and a righteous king builds a wall that the likes of which has never been built before to protect the common folk from the unruly tribe.

Interestingly, Yajooj Majooj have been likened to globalization and climate change. One of the more signs is they will drink up all the water from the lakes. Some have linked this as a clear metaphor for the impact of globalization and climate change.

I hate the fact that the show has got rid of all the hope spots we have in the book. Not spoilers as the show is unlikly to have these plot points but

1) In the book the entire North is part of a secret conspiracy to avenge the Starks. The North remembers is a great phrase which is used again and again

2) Lady Stoneheart is taking revenge on all the freys

3) Sansa is in the vale learning to play the game and becoming stronger instead of being a victim.

4) Boltons and Ramsay are nowhere as strong and the later marries a fake-Arya to gain support from the North despite everyone knowing she is fake.

5) The ghost of winterfell is killing Boltons and other enemies at Winterfell

6) Jamie has developed into a very strong character, learning to use politics instead of muscles power, taking control of river-run

Show of course, is just focusing on shock value and makes it seem like only the villains win every time
