I would say loosely because Spartacus was a true character and it does follow the path of his supposed life but because it's tv a lot of it is dramatised for entertainment purposes.

I really couldn't get into Vikings after watching Spartacus, found tediously paced and dull.

I finished watching pote in a matter of days! it was so good! absolutely brilliant, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I took more of a liking towards Tom Builders biwi :))) I heard there's a similar show out there called Versailes have you seen that? anyhow loved how the premise of pote revolved around completing the cathedral. Also, BBC released a 3 episode special on Agatha Christie's famous novel "And then there were none" I really enjoyed it and they did a great job I felt, I have the book but haven't read it so can't really make any comparisons but it was very good, you should check it out especially if you like the murder/mystery premise.

Dickensian is another show which BBC have released, based on characters created by Charles Dickens one of my favourite authors; watched the pilot and it was pretty good. A while back the same channel had released a show based on great expectations, I don't remember watching it entirely but from what I did see it was quality.
 
Waleran Bigod played by Ian Mcshane (who has been cast for the new GOT season in 2016) was such an evil character! made for one of the best villains I have seen in recent times. I looked on his wiki page, he also starred in Deadwood a show which I really need to see given the critical acclaim

My life has two phases

1. The ten week phase where GoT is being aired

2. The remaining 42 weeks where I wait for it to being aired.
 
Viking's 4th Season will be Premier today. Fourth season is suppose to have 20 episodes... I like that show too, its combination of history and fiction...

Do you guys know that name of the days of the week are after Pagan Gods?

The First Day: Sunday was named after the Sun god.

The second Day: Monday was named after the moon goddess.

The Third Day: Tuesday was named after the god Tyr.

The Fourth Day: Wednesday was named after the god Odin.

The Fifth Day: Thursday was named after the god Thor.

The Sixth Day: Friday was named after the goddess Frigga.

The Seventh Day: Saturday was named after the god Saturn.

Its fascinating!! their legacy has lived (and continue to live) for very long time. We usually have a national or religious holiday for famous people, but dedicated day of the week to Gods is clever, I am sure it would have helped people remember and fearful of them more often.


Its also interesting that the legacy of another pagan God 'Allah' has lived long after the demise of his original followers....

Does anyone know if it will air on Netflix or just the History channel?

- Westeros is obviously meant to be Great Britain
- there is a great big wall in the north of it to keep the wild people out
- the Starks and Lannisters are the Houses of York and Lancaster
- Joffrey Lannister is Edward Lancaster - boy psychopath
- the Battle of Blackwater Bay is the Second Siege of Constantinople, where Greek fire repelled the Arab galleys

Plus the Valyrian Steel magic against the white walkers. :tyrion
 
He's definitely dead,no question about that.Now the question is can melisendrae resurrect him like thoros did to lord beric.This would be interesting since he would be free from his night watch's duties as he would have served until death.

He would've to as its imminent that wall would fall to free folk as Jon was only one who made sure the peace between them and NW but since he's gone now a battle would erupt leading to wildlings taking control over the wall since they easily outnumber the men in black .Only jon resurrected can bring peace to the region otherwise it would be utter chaos.

Why do you hate her ? Any specific reason? I can't stand cersei the reason being she is a very bad person and did a lot of bad stuff to others

Don't really know but I have hated her since season 1, maybe it's the actress or the personality of the character, her smug and arrogant attitude, her storyline is boring for me, every time her scene is on, I fast forward it, I want stark family to win, that's another reason I guess, anyone from Starks over her, even Ramsay Bolton over her
 
Looking forward to meeting of jon snow with dany.He has better rights to the throne than her .
 
Have a feeling that the upcoming season will be the worst one yet, because the show has surpassed the books and the directors will be giving their own twists to the overall plot..
 
Still my favourite show but last season was like watching Shehzad and Misbah bat.

Except that famous Cersei's scene :p.
 
I watched the 4th season in 3 days.

My friend has the 5th season but he is out of state and i dont want to download it myself when i can get it from my friend. Have to wait for him now. Hope he return before the 6th season begins :yk
 
The last season was boring as hell, except the 10th episode.
The pace is so slow that people will start to lose interest.

I felt good cersei had it coming to her but looks like she will fight back as is expected of her. I bet she will torture that Nun who took care of her in jail.

Same here. He is the only "hero" (in the desi sense) in the whole show for me.

Could be just a flashback and I am not able to see him actually....Although I saw red lady getting ready and he being put into water tub of some kind.

I am more interested in Khalesi looking up on the mountain with horse statue is their a possibility to see Khal Drogo to be back ?

Look at Tormund's face while fighting the Boltons(?) and then we see a distant figure in the background correctly matching the description of our hero_Of course they couldn't show him outright as that would just give away the suspense . IMO after waking from dead he would be free from his night's watch duties since he would have served until death and lead the free folk against the boltons to free the north which is rightfully his now cause it's pretty obvious he's son of Lyanna Stark.

Melisendare will probably resurrect him by doing something naughty as usual and really creepy at the same time

Dead.His fate was confirmed by the show producers sometime ago.

This John Snow plot is good one may be too positive for GOT historically things never go the way audience want it to be...I still have a feeling that there are no Heros in this series and ending would be a disappointing one....I dont think John Snow will sit on Iron Throne rather we see Iron Throne being melted or something :).

I like your theory would like to see it in progress, but than why red lady bring him alive if he is to lead free folks and not useful for her cause ?

She's a devout follower of Rhllor and believes in the azor ahai prophecy.Now that stannis is most likely dead she would realize that she misinterpreted the visions and that actually it might be John who's azor ahai reborn .

True. he is the only true hero in the whole serial. Truly Noble I have not read the book. I really hope he gets the throne.I would like him and the dragon girl to get married and rule!

Jon Snow is alive, he has been on the set filming and it's already been spoiled by some that he will lead the charge against the boltons.

And the whole R+L=J theory is true as well. Jon snow has royal blood.
 
You can hate Danny as much as you like, the show is all about her journey to Westeros. The one true ruler of the realm, stupid or whatever. Haters gonna hate but has kicked a lot of :butt and will keep doing so.

Have not read the book. Just saying there might be a chance. She is stupid anyways so dont really care what happens to her. :yk
