Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

A lot happened in the last episode. In the first two episodes, absence of nudity has been a good thing.

The show is getting worse and worse post the epicness of the first 4 seasons. Everything from dialogue to story line has taken a major dip. No longer in my top 5 shows of all time. Im pretty sure its gonna get worse this season since the first 2 episodes have been average. Losing interest in it like Walking Dead though unlike Walking Dead this is still worth watching

These first two episodes have been far ahead of anything in the previous season except the final two episodes (Fall of Hardhome, Sons of the Harpy revolt)

The revival scene could have been more epic, also didn't like how casually the onion knight just walked up to melisandre for a resurrection as if its a joke. The one thing i liked the show for is how it respects death, the truest reality of life. Something that can come out of nowhere and ruin your life. So i don't like how jon snow gets revived like death is a joke and be easily reversed. I like how it works in Braavos, life for life. What is the difference between the white walkers and the men now. Martin used to say he's careful with the extent to which magic is to be used in books. I think they've crossed the line here.

2 strong episodes. Don't understand some of the hate out there.

Much better than the 5th season so far.

Its much better than last season, but feel the writing doesn't have that depth anymore ,feels like its being made for fans now, just my personal opinion.

Well put. This is the only complaint even from my side.. Fan theories are now coming true.. Hope GRRM has few surprises up his sleeve!

Yeah..

I also didn't like Tyrion out of nowhere deciding to get cozy with the dragons. He said to Varys to punch him in the face next time he had an idea like that which was just to cover up him going out of his usual intelligent character. What were the odds of him getting burnt right there by 2 hungry and angry dragons? 50-50 right? Ridiculous odds for a supposedly crucial character.

also let me say this for book readers

Looks like Tyrion Targaryen confirmed imo

I don't think so. While the books do hint that Aerys was attracted to Joanna, the show has never alluded to it. Plus, with Jon about to be confirmed Targ next episode, doing the same with Tyrion would be OTT. Tyrion's scenes with the dragons had more to do with his knowledge from the reading books about them rather than having Targ blood.

Plus, it would ruin the Tywin-Tyrion relationship for me. The books have strongly hinted that Tyrion was the only child who truly succeed him, had he been able to look past his prejudices. Having Tyrion being a Targ would justify Tywin's behaviour to him.

Yeah..

This is why I don't rate the show. Terrible writing. The dragons are also released in the books, but from a different character (not introduced in the show), for different reasons and with that gruesome conclusion.

Nobody talking about Euron Greyjoy? Epic entry.

I am the Thunder!

Disappointed to see no Victarion. His rivalry with crow's eye would have made the show even more interesting.

1. We don't know how he will change as a result

2. Something awful will happen as a consequence. Remember Dani's baby?

How ironic will it be that Jonny boy comes back with all such fanfare and by the end of season 6 somebody dismembers his head effectively killing him permanently.

Anything can happen in Game of Thrones.

Hopefully nothing major.Beric was resurrected by thonos multiple times but it was only after few later attempts that it decided to take toll on his body.Maybe this will make Jon bit bold and sassy.I wouldn't mind it.

nearly shed a tear yesterday at that baby's last whimper before the dogs dug in :'(

Ramsay already 50x more hateable than Joffrey. But I like him for some reason.

Also I jumped in my seat when Jon came back to life... was like wth haha. Too sudden.

why doesnt the red witch everybody back to life then. what a joke

Surprised no ones talking about Dorne here. One of the worst plotlines I have ever seen. What exactly was the point of all this drama? And they killed Areo Hotah just like that.he's probably the most badass character in the books and I would never forgive showrunners for screwing his arc so badly.Had so much hope from sand snakes but boy look how they turned out to be.What a waste really.I hope Jammy or someone else just destroy the whole peninsula and end the martell line or what's left of it.

No weak man will ever rule Dorne again. Let Jamie come, he will be returned in a casket looking like a frog.

New theories .... Dani has brothers.. Jon Snow and Tyrion...

The 3 dragon riders... :D

I certainly feel Jon Snow is Danerys' brother.... son of Lyanna Stark and Mad King.. Ned Stark adopted him and kept it secret.

Too much Targaryan family love.

No.. R+L=J, it's not the Mad King Aeryn.. It is his son Rhaegar

Jon is the eventual King...
.

Then you're a noob aftrer watching so much of the show.

Jon's sworn to the brotherhood of the night watch. He's fighting a greater battle and throne isn't for him anymore.

Noob, He fulfilled his oath to the Night's watch.. He died!!

Next episode is titled "Oathbreaker"

Read the signs!!

Jon is the eventual King...

Why the fascination for that throne even after watching 5 seasons of dumb iron throne in boring King's Landing? Anyway, Valar Morghulis. All men must die. John will too, again.

Yup,... who said he will occupy the iron throne....
He will be King...

and Valar Morghulis.. Jon "the Man" died... now he is a God!! :p

Don't be too sure about that. Remember Thros of Myr and Beric Dondarrion? The former resurrected the latter 5-6 times. That means the dead who come back can be dead again..

We shall see.Anyway Dorne isn't really imp in grander scheme of things and hopefully would be wiped out forever either by lannisters or dragons.

Next episode is coming :)

May The Fourth be with you :)

Jon is definitely a Targ no question about that. But he's nephew of dany and not her brother. There's a very famous theory on this R L=J google it.
Re Tyrion he may or may not be a Targ.Mad king did lust for his mother when she lived in KL and apparently this was one of the reasons why Tywin resigned from his post and returned to casterly rock. Also there's this 3 heads of dragon theory. But there's no direct proof or any solid evidence that Aerys was his father. The dragons might not have harmed him because as he himself said they are friendly and understanding creatures.
Khair it's all just speculation. We will soon find out.

Although I agree with the overwhelming majority who feel that the quality has dipped over time, you have to remember that earlier it was a different ride.

You were setting up an expanding universe. Every episode seem to open up more and more possibilities.

Now the world is small, and the end game is in sight. People don't like that as much. So the writers are automatically hamstrung.

Guys can u please let us know when u are going to discuss things that havent happened yet in the tv show. I really didn't want to read about Jon's future.

and you know this how? Dorne was the only place that has never been conquered. by the targs. They have a connection to the royal throne and further connections will be coming.

All Are speculating !!
Series has gone ahead of the books .. So no one is bringing in spoilers. :)

Presumed spoiler based on books/comics is this:
I really hope for Captain America's death in Civil War like in comics. That would be epic

and you know this how? Dorne was the only place that has never been conquered. by the targs. They have a connection to the royal throne and further connections will be coming.

I was talking with the tv show in mind. With all the male line finished there isn't much left for dorne now unless you think that batshit crazy Ellaria and her sand snakes are key to some kind of really imp plot.
Well in books they will soon join Aegon so yeah there's possibility that Dorne still has some part to play.

and you know this how? Dorne was the only place that has never been conquered. by the targs. They have a connection to the royal throne and further connections will be coming.

With Dorne, now that Prince Doran, and Trystane are both dead, difficult to see how Ellaria and the sand snakes reach out to Daenerys. They don't seem to have the brains to do so. But they have severed their line to the Lannisters, so can't see where else they go to but Daenerys.

Always felt that the Khalessi will get her navy from the Iron Born - she has an army, but no naval power. They have no army capable of fighting the main land powers. Put them together, and you finally have a way for Daenery's to conquer Westeros.

Once she gets that out of the way, team up with John Snow and use dragon fire to kill white walkers in the north. Hey presto, end of the saga.

Tower of joy coming up next episode. Excited about that.

Will we see the sword of the morning finally? The greatest knight of all time.

as i have said it before.
10 episodes per season is not enough if they are going with the snail pace.
if they dont want to compromise on production quality thn its better to speed up the pace of the story.
or produce atleast 16 episode per season.

Thats what i was talking about ....

:))

Also a possible reveal of the R+L = ?

Just watched the episode, Arthur Dayne is awsome

But they cutaway from the vision just as Edward is about to enter the tower after he hears Lyanna scream.

Most likely going to see it in another episode

Jon snow stuff was really good as well

He hangs olly, Thorne, marsh and yarwick before making Edd Lord Commander and saying 'my watch has ended'

Umber stuff is utter crap,

I get the show has to simplify the books but making the Umbers traitors even if it's by necessity is just stupid

THe great Jon is implied to have died a natural death and his son betrays the Starks since Jon snow let the wildlings in. There is no Manderly like conspiracy from the books, he hands over Rickon and Osha as well Shaggydogs head

I hope the Manderlys aren't just straight out traitors either

He just had a fine sword that's it.Otherwise imo Barristan the bold was better.

If you have read the books, you wouldn't have missed Barristan ( a legend) stating Ser Dayne was better in literally every aspect as a Knight. He defeated the smiling knight which in today's terms was as bad as Ser Gregor Clegane The Mountain, that's how badass Ser Arthur Dayne was.

Of course Barristan would say that. That's how stuff works. But you have to keep in mind that the sword 'Dawn' he carried always gave him an unfair advantage over his opponents.I think in hand to hand combat none was better than Robert Baratheon.Mixture of strength and talent that guy was a beast and proved that in the battle of trident by smashing Rhaegar in pieces .

You should hear what darkstar has to say about his cousin sword of morning.

All legends are exaggerated to an extent, we can only go by peer reviews and i would take Jamie and Selmy's unbiased reviews over some bitter relative's rants. Most would infact which is why Ser Arhtur is the most revered Knight otherwise you never know who beats whom unless you put them in a fight. Good point raised on Robert, he was a beast when he needed to fight. The knights just have that bit of glamour to them in that being a great knight is so much more than just killing people.

You are taking me wrong here.I'm in no way undermining Ser Arthur's sword wielding capability and his prowess on battlefield. But the thing is sometimes the legend is so much exaggerated that it becomes hard to believe. He was your archetypal knight, the qualities we seek in one and being part of kingsguard also helped. But that's just my opinion and you are free to disagree with it.

Any theories on this guys:
Can Bran change the past? Did Robert hear him?

I am really curious to see where this goes. The EPISODE LAST NIGHT threw a few surprises. I think this might be building up to something big.

Was mindblowing episode. feels great to be a part of GoT fans and share common tastes with more discerning and sophisticated people.

Hoping to not spoil it for anyone and without disclosing too much, here is what I found interesting:

1. The flash back scene.. Is Ned's legacy being tarnished here? Are we finally going to see the true fate of Ilyana?
2. Ramsey's new captive... This was an unexpected turn of events.
3. What does Jon Snow now planning to do?
4. Definite movement on Arya and Vary's roles.
5. Dany's story is kind of stuck but they are laying down ground work for something big here, I can sense it.

I dont understand why you found it boring but I did find a few interesting developments in this episode.

CC, do they translate the show in Bengali in India? do the characters wear dhuti while swinging their swords?
