Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

Hoping to not spoil it for anyone and without disclosing too much, here is what I found interesting:

1. The flash back scene.. Is Ned's legacy being tarnished here? Are we finally going to see the true fate of Ilyana?
2. Ramsey's new captive... This was an unexpected turn of events.
3. What does Jon Snow now planning to do?
4. Definite movement on Arya and Vary's roles.
5. Dany's story is kind of stuck but they are laying down ground work for something big here, I can sense it.

I dont understand why you found it boring but I did find a few interesting developments in this episode.

Bran can interact with the past!

and Jon still knows nothing!

Best was Davos' dialogue , " Now Go Fail again"

They are going to use the Harry Potter/Dumbledore technique to explain some of the history through Bran and the three eyes raven guy. My best guess is that on the next "trip" Bran will find out Jon Snow is in fact a Targaryen and Ilyana was happily married to Rhaegar contrary to popular belief.

Same theory here! Something on the lines that Lyanna loved Rhaegar but was betrothed to Robert Baratheon.

But I have a feeling that Bran can alter the past in his visions, Ned stark responded to his voice.
Why will someone running after to save his own sister stop midway?
The repeated warning by the Raven not to stay too long in the past, or maybe interstellar level stuff.

That would be introducing too much supernatural to this show. I hope they dont. I like it grounded, the whitewalkers and dragons are enough of the supernatural for me.

It was until they mixed Gods and resurrections. There is still one character from book yet to be seen:

resurrection of Lady Stark

Bran interacting with the past might be like he already influenced the changes in the past. Something on the lines what "Lost" tried. You can't change the past even if you go back to the past.

Jon Snow's resurrection is also too much... they should have not killed him off or left him for dead. Its good they decided to not resurrect the other person from the books. Its better to not turn this into extremely high fantasy since it works so well with the ground level of human emotions and actions and motivations.

5. Dany's story is kind of stuck but they are laying down ground work for something big here, I can sense it..

Danny is the main character in the show, she is the mother of dragons who hold the key to defeat white walkers. Something big is always around the corner with Danny.

Agreed on both counts. After two seasons of marking time we are finally getting somewhere.

Some bootstrap paradox at work? Can Bran change the past to prevent Jaime crippling him?

My reasoning he already did. If you remember the concept of time travel of Lost.

All the things have been set in motion because Bran already messed with the past.
Like the 3 eyed Raven said, he "can't change the past, the ink is dry!" but he must learn everything. He has already caused the past.

Although I agree with the overwhelming majority who feel that the quality has dipped over time, you have to remember that earlier it was a different ride.

You were setting up an expanding universe. Every episode seem to open up more and more possibilities.

Now the world is small, and the end game is in sight. People don't like that as much. So the writers are automatically hamstrung.

The TV schedule seems to have overtaken the book at this point. It would be interesting to know if the original author is involved in the story line of the latest episodes.

You are taking me wrong here.I'm in no way undermining Ser Arthur's sword wielding capability and his prowess on battlefield. But the thing is sometimes the legend is so much exaggerated that it becomes hard to believe. He was your archetypal knight, the qualities we seek in one and being part of kingsguard also helped. But that's just my opinion and you are free to disagree with it.

I think the TV episode's done justice to the fighting skills of Ser Arthur Dayne. Utilized both his arms to perfection, fought 5 men and would have won had the Crannogman not stabbed him in the back.

The show is now ahead of the books, however George Martin has been actively consulting with the producers the whole time, and a fair amount of what we are watching now will also be in his upcoming scribed instalment.

I do think Bran has the ability to change the past but I believe whatever has unfolded is unchangeable. Maybe current Bran influenced the past Bran to climb up the tower eventually for Jaime to cripple him? Just to set the entire set of dominoes rolling?

Maybe the current Bran realizes there are bigger players involved and sacrifices need to be made to prevent winter take over the entire Westeros? Is that the reason he should complete his training to let go of emotions and think about the bigger picture?

Nopes The past cannot be changed, The ink is dry.

Bran has already influenced the past. Just see the trailer for season 6 again, ad try to see how Bran's voice was heard by young Ned running up the tower.

Just watched the episode, Arthur Dayne is awsome

But they cutaway from the vision just as Edward is about to enter the tower after he hears Lyanna scream.

Most likely going to see it in another episode

Jon snow stuff was really good as well

He hangs olly, Thorne, marsh and yarwick before making Edd Lord Commander and saying 'my watch has ended'

Umber stuff is utter crap,

I get the show has to simplify the books but making the Umbers traitors even if it's by necessity is just stupid

THe great Jon is implied to have died a natural death and his son betrays the Starks since Jon snow let the wildlings in. There is no Manderly like conspiracy from the books, he hands over Rickon and Osha as well Shaggydogs head

I hope the Manderlys aren't just straight out traitors either

I hope they don't cut Lord Wyman Manderley out of the show. The man is quite a character in the books and fiercely loyal to Starks.

The last episode was very confusing who is in that tower?Jon snow?
Ned's sister Lyanna with her baby boy Jon Snow.Apparently she was abducted by the crown prince Rhaegar which led to Robert Baratheon(to whom she was betrothed to) raising banners and declaring war against the Targeryens. After the war was over and Targs defeated , Ned along with some of his trusted companions which included crannogman Howland Reed journeyed to Dorne where Lyanna was allegedly kept in a tower known as tower of joy by men of kingsguard(Legendary Arthur Dayne,Ser Oswel Whent and Ser Gerold Hightower) on the orders from Prince Rhaegar. Now many people theorize that in fact both lyanna and Rhaegar were in love with each other and that Jon being their son is the true heir to the kingdom.

I get the impression they will be cut or loyal to the boltons and that the loyal stark houses will be the Mormonts ( seen in the trailer with Davos, plus the one line stannis has about them in season 5 ) and maybe the Glovers /reeds

I don't know man the whole demeanour of SmallJon and the way he refused to swear fealty to Ramsey tells me that there's more to it than meets the eye.Maybe it's a plan to take Ramsey in confidence by handing Rickon over and then switch sides when the real battle comes.

Id hope sp but i don't think the writers of the show that smart plus there are 3 issues I with this

1. Shaggy dog is dead, that's a bid deal (unless it was somehow a fake ) , I can't see them sacrificing a wolf , least of all rickon

2. Spoilers from the trailers below

The scenes we get from the battle of winterfell show some the banners ,
It appears to be Starks, wildlings, mormants and maybe gloves vs Bolton , karstark, umber and what I think is manderly .

Plus we see two people flayed and burning before the battle

3. Potential leaks from future episodes

3. Potential leaks

D and D said that the two people burning in the trailer were characters we knew but they since back tracked from that .

There is also this leak going around that Ramsay will tell rickon to run towards Jon in the battle and then shoot him to anger Jon . That leads to the stark charge we see in the trailer

Then what is the point of handing over the actual Rickon, who as far as they know, is the only remaining Stark, to a psychopath like Ramsay?

Yeah lol, given nobody in Winterfell has any idea how any Stark children even looks, he could have just handed over a fake one and kept the real one safe somewhere for bargaining later.

I always felt Rickon was like a large bait created by RR Martin. He's hardly had to do anything but was kept on for some reason. Every other Stark child s now coming into their own, except for him.

I think Rickon's death will be the rallying cry of the North with Jon Snow leading it.

I feel really sorry for rickon that he meet ramsey bolton. It will be torture for him now.

Yes, the clue is in the Direwolf's name. Shaggydog

A shaggy dog story is an extremely long-winded anecdote characterized by extensive narration of typically irrelevant incidents and terminated by an anticlimax or a pointless punchline.

Family reunions all around.

A happy episode all around except for Osha's fate.

I think Rickon might be the last human to be flayed by the Boltons, before the last of the Bolton bloodline is killed?!

Rest assured Ramsay will make a display of Osha's body and this will really get under the skin of the wildlings as well.

I got s feeling Ramsay will be killed by Sana and the other guy he torcher like hell(Reak or something like that), Claire to the end of this season maybe 8/9th episode.

So far we have not seen white walkers, end of this and next season will be about them, this is where it all stories will merge!!

I don't want Ramsay to just be "killed", I want him to be tortured like he has tortured countless others.

Also the other day I was watching GoT fan vids on Youtube and came across Syrio Fyrell's best moments. We never really see him directly killed just hear noises of swords and people screaming when Arya is running away. I'm hoping against hope that after Arya is done with the faceless men in Bravos she runs into Syrio and restarts her "water dance" training. That would be epic.

Also

Brienne mentioned that she has executed Stannis, but again we never really saw the dead body of the last Bratheon so it is safe to say that he might still be alive and will probably have a part to play in the remainder of the series.

Generally we have seen that GOT does not spend too much time on revenge or keeping character alive, unless there is a role to be played by that character down the road...Jaffery was killed quickly, he was nasty character... Ramsey will be killed pretty much in one scene, plus nobody on the other side is interested in torture games...GOT has too much on the plate to keep characters alive for the fun only ;-) , maybe I am wrong...

I am interested in characters of White Walkers.... Hoping for life in those characters, like rest of the characters, what they want, why they want, the emotional side etc... Lifeless Zombies is not that much fun :(

I see Dani has managed to get her kit off (again).

She was hired for the job to do just that. Still a powerful scene though, although last time she emerged from the fire her hair had been burned off. This time it was all golden and glossy while her clothes disappeared.

Yeah its amazing how GOT gets done with characters in matter of seconds. Robert, Stannis, Renly, Roose, Balon, Tywin all died an unglorious death. It all seemed to happen so quickly.

Ok! here is my theory on Bran:

Bran is actually "Bran the builder"

Possible?

Difference between Bollywood and Hollywood [emoji12][emoji12][emoji12]

In Desi movies we waste 5 minutes of screen time on dialogues after getting hit... We don't remember that much stuff in exams as much desi Heros remembers and than narrate after swallowing 4 AK47 bullets [emoji14][emoji14][emoji14]

Contrary to what many fans think, I thought Dany's scene was ridiculous. They're just hyping her up, like always. It's like deja vu of season 1, except now we know she's not a capable ruler and just a glam doll.

I'm very very happy to see the character development of Sansa. The scene with Jon was heart warming. You could feel the emotion when they both hugged. Great scene in GoT in a long long time..

King's Landing scenes have been good for a change. The Ironborn continue to baffle me. Can't understand their relevance in the bigger scheme of things. Maybe the books have better storyline for them. However, as a strict TV viewer, I couldn't care less about them.

Ramsay Bolton continues to deliver insane performance. He is a natural villain. Just his presence on screen brings jitters to viewers. I want Sansa to torture and kill Ramsay all by herself. She deserves every bit of it. I somehow feel she's going to become the lady of winterfell and the warden of the north. Just hope LF doesn't get to manipulate her anymore.

Jon's destiny, I believe will be to travel south/beyond Westeros to look for allies to defeat the whitewalkers..

Naaah.....my money is on Ghost sinking his teeth into Ramsay's neck.

Will be a fitting end especially since how Ramsay likes to use his hounds to do the killing!!

I wanna see Ghost take on the hounds.

On another note didn't realise Jon Snow was that short. Does he were some kind of platform boots on set or something.

A very childish, immature show that has been unbelievably hyped up.

GOT suddenly switched gears in the last one, didnt it?

How many of you are cheering for Snow to rip Bolton a new one? I am, of course.. :)

Kind of disappointed with Tyrion though. You never negotiate with terrorists!

I am just curious as to how many seasons of the TV show we re going to get? 8? or 9

Probably 9, there's a lot of storylines to tie up. They completely ditched Arya in this last episode, as well as Dorne, so if they use this alternating scheme then we're looking at 3 more juicy seasons.

Next season will be last and the idea is to finish it off through a movie or maybe 2 which will be epic. GOT finish shouldn't be on TV, its too big now and deserves a big budget 3 hour movie ending with the best in the business CGI, 3D. I wanna watch it on IMAX.

Jon, the Wildlings and the Ironborn will do over Ramsey, and Jon will become Warden of the North.

Civil war will tear King's Landing apart. Mountain 2.0 will take out dozens of Sparrows before they pull him down.

Dani will become Queen of everything and come back to Westeros at the head of a vast army.

Poor old Ser Jorah will die protecting Dani, his love unrequited until the end.

Dani, Jon Snow and Tyrion will all team up to take on the WWs in cataclysmic final battle. Bran will warg into a dragon at a crucial moment.

Arya will assassinate everyone on her list.

Peace will break out.

Sorted.

this is arguably the worst idea i've heard about GoT yet.

so u want them to drag it out another 5 years while they make the movies?

Read it sometime back... i think season 7 will be the last one!

The Child actors are growing up, they cannot stretch the series much longer!

No, season 8 will be the last one. 18 episodes more without counting this season

As for movies, they most probably will be outside of the main story, like Ned and Robert's rebellion, Dunk and Egg series, etc. There is enough material for multiple movies

I think Jon and Dany are headed for a showdown. Jon is literally the song of ice and fire. He is also pragmatic. Whereas Dany is becoming more like the mad king and things in black and white.

Epsiode 5 is going to be insane if these leaks continue to be true ( so far they have)

Only read below if you dont mind massive book and show spoilers

According to the leak ( and again this person has sucesfully predicted every big moment that hashappened so far )

The biggest stuff will be with Bran this episode

to summarise

Bran has a vision of the children of the forest. He confronts about this and it turns out they created the white walkers to protect against something ( i presume humans)

Bran then has the vision teased in the trailer with the nights king, issue is nights king can sense him from the vision and then attacks the Tree.

In the attack Hodor's 'true purpose is revelaved' and he holds off the white walkers and is presumed to have died along with three eyed raven

Meera and Bran are recused by BENJEN STARK !!!!!!!!!

Bran has one more vision before the end of the episode. Goes back to Ned at the tower of joy, he is next to lyanna who says promise me , u then see ned hold a baby, before the scene cuts to present day jon snow.

Continuation of what i wrote above

in the season 6 trailer there is a scene that shows the knights king walking towards a fire, imdeediately after that in what looks to be the same setting you get this scene

View attachment 67025

Now im convinved, benjen wil be the shows coldhands ( dont think books coldhands is benjen personally)

plus there is this scene in a trailer of the battle of winterfell, pretty sure thats benjen

https://qph.is.quoracdn.net/main-qimg-453b7ffbae323daefdc12cb598a62c2b?convert_to_webp=true

Biggest give away though is that they showed a young benjen in the flashbacks. They have to remind people who he was

Why did i just read this? :( :( :(

Hope they show us something from age of heroes,Night's King story would be nice.

This week's episode was one of the best they've ever done IMO. Up there with The Old Gods And The New, Blackwater, and The Children. The writing, direction, editing, and Emilia Clarke's performance were all of a superb standard.

How can they top that in Episode 5? (I haven't read the apparently epic spoilers above, but maybe they will!)

It's 18 episodes counting this season. 6 episodes left in the season then 12 episodes in season 7:

“I think we’re down to our final 13 episodes after this season. We’re heading into the final lap,” said Benioff. “That’s the guess, though nothing is yet set in stone, but that’s what we’re looking at.”
