Game of Thrones [SPOILER ALERT]

For me the last one even bettered the Battle of Basterds

The music in the Kings landing when Cersai was blowing them was just unreal

Have watched it like three or four times now :)) You just get lost in it every time. An absolute masterpiece for mine.

The last two were certainly master pieces. If battle of the Bs channeled lord of the rings, the winds of winter reminded you so much of godfather during the intense first part. Probably the best ever two episodes of a tv show ever.

last two episodes were letdown tbh.. heard so much about them being good and all and that's all I got?

bit late, im sure many have this but the first promo for season 7. All but the last line is old.

Interesting to note only one Dragon crumbles, fits in with a fan theory.

I honestly have never been more excited for a show in my life, and only 13 episodes left

Going to be LOTR level television now.

Going to be LOTR level television now.

Most definitely

Battle of the you know what was the best battle scene I have seen in anything outside of LOTR, better than 300, Troy, kingdom of heaven and gladiator

Two weeks away from the first episode. This season is going to be epic

I feel quite the opposite though... :( The hype is so much that I believe anything they put up now would most certainly feel anti climactic :sanga

From the discussions that have been going on about, it feels as if they'll reinvent sliced bread or something.....

first season was excellent

the rest are still good but not just cannot match the quality of the first season

i didnt even bother watching the last season and wont bother watching this one as well

It's sad that I won't enjoy this coming season now due to reading so much theories and replaying clips thousands of times :(

Nonetheless, still pumped over the return of the greatest TV show ever, #amatterofhours.

It's a fantasy show and I don't know why u would bother to watch it if ur not even a fan of the genre.

It's now entered a stage where the show is wrapping up, so dont expect a lot of twists and turns. Now is the time to just watch for big battle scenes and closure.

I am looking forward to it

Big day today... I like the show but I'm not as big of a fan to read up on theories and possibilities. At the end of the day its just a tv show. There have been many before it and there will be many after it.

My HBO found the most convenient time to not work... so now I'm having to search for streams online :danish

It was a nice episode to start the season... don't want to post any spoilers... let's just say the first few episodes will be about the setup and then the payoff comes in the last two three episodes

Thought the first episode was really good. A lot better than past first episodes and wasn't as slow as I thoight it'd be.

Ed Sheeran?!? :))

yeah what was that all about.. the most unexpected and miss matched and pointles of cameos... woke up this morning and saw the news and apparentlh the world is extremely ticked off why sheeran was given an apearance in the show..

i thought it was pointlessly funny but not so bad to cause a major furore

Took the fantastical nature out of the story for a while and it was an irrelevant scene.

All or most actors in Game of Thrones didn't have a 'trademark-like identity' like Sheeran does with his music. Those characters were developed over 7 years and you become so engaged in that fantasy world that your fantasy becomes an alternate-reality of sorts...then Ed Sheeran shows up to shock you back into reality!

Don't worry the fantasy aspect will come back when Ed Sheeran's head gets merciless chopped of by Arya

Or y'know, he trips and falls ona rock or something.

Quality episode. The only weak element was the Ed Sheeran cameo which was ridiculous. Would have worked much better as a launch teaser or a deleted scene / Easter Egg on the DVD, no idea how such fluff made it into the final cut. But yes a great episode otherwise, with near-perfect writing.

would ve been awesome if he was just another disguise of the faceless man.. he would casually take off the sheeran mask and proceed to decapitate the rest of the soldiers, just to teach arya another morbid, cryptic lesson... hahaha

Season 6 was quality, and the last episode of season 6 was one of the best of The Series.

You should watch it. HBO spent $10Million per episode on season 6 and the quality of scenes show it.

I seriously hope he doesn't show up again, if he does I want Ser Gregor to Oberyn his head to pulp

whats next?.. kim kardashian as yara's new lesbian lover? miley cyrus as the fourth sand sister?
justin beiber plays the mountain for rest of the series?

Btw just watching season 7 episode 1 now - hope it lives to the hype and expectations. Opening scene was quality with a twist.

Something was telling me that the long-haired guy talking about his pregnant wife is the faceless man, he just gave off that vibe

For some reason I kept thinking arya was heading to winterfell. But she is going to kings landing... so no reunion with Jon, Sansa and bran in near future??

Good episode, right from the first scene.

Sheeeren scene was very strange , esp that dim kid trying it on with Aria. Dont tell me he ends up on the trone as King to Queen Aria.

I was surprised that she's heading to Kings Landing. However, something tells me that there'll be a reason she goes back up north cos they'll definitely reunite

:)), in all seriousness Ed does have a small role. It's just a group of knights. He'll be gone when Arya leaves them.

She's going to King's Landing for Cersei. There's no on else on her list I don't think

That's right. Thoros, beric, cersei, don't know about jaime but I think he is there too, the mountain? The executioner who beheaded Ned stark, melisandre .. these are the remaining ines I believe. About 5-7 more still left.

Great start to the season. Sets everything up nicely.

I wish HBO released the season like Netflix does. I would binge watch non stop for 10 hours :( hate waiting 7 days for a new episode.

I wonder what the next obsession would be for geekdom once this is over. It's been quite a phenomenon.

I am eagerly waiting for season 2 of stranger things. Anyway I digress. Apologies

Yeah the waiting is always the sucky part. Vikings is a good watch in the mean time. Up to season two I think so should last the winter :))

Had planned to wait till the end of the season and binge watch it. Half a day hadn't gone by when I started getting spoilers on social media. So, gave up and watched it. While I loved the first episode, waiting a week for new episode takes the fun out of the show.

Ed Sheeran cameo was a joke but ok nevertheless, Hound is an amazing character ,the way he delivers his sarcasstic dialogues is remarkable, feels like he and Tyrion are the only good ones(partially) that know how the world works.

Its unfortunate to see Varys become a side character though, sidelined along with Little finger who atleast keeps the surprise going.

Would have been awesome had she slit Ed Sheeran's throat.I hate that guy.
Though perhaps this group is the nicest bunch of Lannister soldiers we have seen so far in the series.A departure from the likes of Sandor Clegane and Amory Lorch.
Anyway a good first episode.Liked the Dragonstone bit , always have been one of my favorite castles for its mystery and serenity.
Should be a good season after two previous awful ones.

Anyone else here who doesn't like Emilia Clarke? Think she's the weakest link in the series and couldn't act even if her life was depended on it.
And I'm still annoyed at show writers for not introducing Jon Connington and Fake Aegon

I think they should kill off arya stark character and move on .... it's been a boring line to pursue. I rather the likes of bran, varys and little finger had more focus.

I think she is fine. Dani is an emotionally controlled character, very buttoned up. She does the woman of destiny thing very well.

She is rapidly rising in popularity. Most people have her as one of their top three fav characters. Which suggests that she will die this season or next.

Game of Thrones, beyond its wildest killings, is more than just a blood fest but a story with meticulous character development. We've come too far to see Arya die, and tbh I'm starting to enjoy watching a timid and spoilt Sansa turn ruthless. More so the annoying attitudes of some characters have changed my opinion of them. Everythings coming together nicely.

We will see deaths, yes that's a given. But not any of the major characters until maybe last season.

Arya is one of the best characters - like a dark horse that comes and goes.

How can anyone dislike her ?

Arya is defintely the best character along with Tyrion.

She is an assassin which no one expects. Always excting to watch.

Loved the 1st episode back and the first scene. Btw how was she able to pull off Walder Freys voice?

I'm looking forward to a couple of reunions, The Hound and Arya, Jaime and Tyrion, Varys and Little finger.

The Mountain and the Hound would be good too and it's just as well the Hound is singing kumbaya because he'd get his butt kicked otherwise.

Yeah that stripping the children from their heritage was quite brutal and I thought Jon would cave in until he let rip with his own speech.

Jon snow is my ultimate favorite.. the reluctant hero who has been dealt harsh hands all his life, has a heart of gold and rises to the challenge. I found Robb to be a bit of brat, Sansa a Whiney little ..., even Bran sometimes gets annoying but Jon Snow story lines are always entertaining. For a while I was getting bored of Arya as well but she is now redeeming herself with some action. It would be awesome if she is the one who finishes Cersei off.

Lately Lady Leanna Mormont has also made it to my favorite list. She does a great job of shutting up big manly stupid northern men with a single hiss. Lol

Jon is my favorite Character too, he is ultimate leader, who does not have any selfish ambitions, probably the only one. Not driven by greed or revenge, purely driven by greater good not for his tribe but for everybody...Story line of Jon leading the White Walkers against southerners is possible (although a remote possibility), that would be cool, like he made alliance with Wildlings.

I would have like more life in the characters of White Walkers. Show writers were of the view, more mysterious the thing is scarier it becomes for audiences and they want to know more about it. White Walkers are not completely dead zombies, but their life and culture is rarely portrayed, I want more life to their characters... They did not go into the detail, as to why White Walkers are back again, I hope at some point they explain it, there was piece between walkers and human, they are the ones who possibly build the wall...But I can also see where writers are coming from...

I wouldn't be too quick to call her that.Remember she is an assassin now.

An assassin for the good side. She is slowly and surely killing the protagonists. The only people who on her list aren't that bad are the Hound and Jamie but both of them have a bad past and were equally bad as some of the other people on the list.

Let's see if she spares them Lannister soldiers or not.

Correct me if i am wrong but white walkers were always there and had a pact with northerners to keep peace provided northerners give a newly born to white walkers every year. That pact was broken by northerners hence Walkers invasion?

Not sure, the above i witnessed way back from season 1 or 2.

Lol, so the rest were safe because of an incestuous ...?

Jaime isn't on her list

Whitewalkers (or The Others) first appeared around 8 to 10 thousand years ago during the Long Night(a season of winter that lasted a generation). They came from the frozen land of always winter bringing the cold and darkness with them. They were finally put down and forced to flee after battle of dawn in which the surviving first men formed an alliance with the children of the forest defeating them convincingly thus ending their terror and the Long winter.
What I think the reason behind their return is the sudden reappearance of magic in the world.Remember magic in Martin's world is something which isn't easily understandable and even the most learned maesters from citadel have been unable to study it properly. It's the chief reason behind many irregularities including the unpredictable weather in the GOT world.

No there wasn't any such pact. That's just Craster doing whatever he can to survive in that wilderness.

That doesn't seem right. The Children of the Forest created the white walkers to counter the persecution they were suffering from mankind.
