It would be rather stupid of anyone in the army to take an anti-Imran stance given his popularity in the country.
and it turns out the popularity couldn't save imran

Its called dictatorship and we all know that none of these last forever. What happened to Ayub, Yayha, ZAB, Zia and Mush and more recently Bajwa and Munir. Education is amazing and you need to get some on history.
and it turns out the popularity couldn't save imran

It depends on how you define destruction. Name one person in Pakistani leadership history apart from QA and LA shaheed who are held in high regard? And I am asking you to put aside your political affiliations and answer honestly.

Zia, Bhutto, AYub Khan, Yahya, Musharraf, nawaz, BB etc all are technically written down in the history books as crooks responsible for running the country down into a hole.

That’s destruction, my friend. When you are remembered with gaalis in your country mens’ hearts.

Imran has stood out as an honorable man for millions. He is alive and will be for a long time thanks to his honesty and bravery and character.

Pakistan's powerful army chief has urged the country to leave "anarchy and polarisation" behind as two ex-prime ministers declared victory in an election that has defied expectations.

With most results in, independent candidates linked to jailed former PM Imran Khan have won most seats.

But Nawaz Sharif, another ex-PM widely seen as having the army's backing, has urged others to join him in coalition.

Officials have also rejected Western criticism of how the election was run.

With no clear outcome, General Asim Munir called on all parties to show maturity and unity, saying the politics of polarisation did "not suit a progressive country of 250 million people".

"Elections are not a zero-sum competition of winning and losing but an exercise to determine the mandate of the people," Gen Munir said.

Fourteen National Assembly seats are yet to be determined - all in the vast and sparsely-populated Balochistan province - but both Mr Khan and Mr Sharif say they have won.

Mr Khan released an AI-generated video message rejecting his rival's claim and calling on supporters to celebrate. He has been jailed on charges of leaking state secrets, corruption and an unlawful marriage and his PTI party was banned from taking part in the polls.

About 100 of the wining candidates are independents and all but eight of them are backed by the PTI, the non-profit Free and Fair Election Network said.

Mr Sharif's PML-N party won 71 seats ad the PPP of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, the son of assassinated PM Benazir Bhutto, got 53. The rest were won by smaller parties and independents.

The PML-N party has now begun talks with other groups about forming a unity government and it could be a while before anyone is able to claim outright victory.

Mr Sharif acknowledged that he did not have the numbers to form a government alone, but insisted he could remove the country from difficult times at the head of a coalition.

On Friday the US, UK and EU each expressed concerns about the fairness of the election. UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron said there were "serious concerns" raising questions "about the fairness and lack of inclusivity of the elections".

But Pakistan's foreign ministry rejected this as "not even factual".

It said the statements neither took into account "the complexity of the electoral process" nor acknowledged Pakistanis' "free and enthusiastic exercise of the right to vote by tens of millions of Pakistanis".

There were sporadic reports of violence during the election. A former National Assembly member and head of National Defense Movement Party, Mohsin Dawar was shot and injured in Miranshah, North Waziristan in an incident that killed a fellow party member, his party said.

There were also reports of a protest in the south-western port city of Gwadar in Balochistan province, where some voters alleged irregularities in vote counting.

The reputation of Pakistan’s military is at an all time low, thanks to Asim Munir.

Just going through SM, and all you see is those who are standing at the borders putting their life on the line for their country being mocked by their own people.

who are standing at the borders putting their life on the line for their country
These guys have no idea what is going on in their upper ranks. They are poor people just like most of Pakistan is and they are just trying to make ends meet by doing what they were originally supposed to do.

All of the COAS in the past have been corrupt but they were smart to some extend, but this guy Munir is kind of dumb, The establishment used to manage election in a bit sophisticated way but Munir could not do it and at the end his guys just changed the elections result in the most crudest way. No one in Pakistan now likes the establishment, which is not good for the country, but it all due to the stupid and dumb and unpatriotic top brass of the establishment.

No, it's because people are aware ever since IK - perhaps the most popular leader the country has ever produced, took them on and flagged the wrongdoings of the establishment, both past and present. Munir is simply like the many before him. Had this been Zia, IK would have had a noose round his neck by now!

The establishment has a lot to answer for, it's just that no one has ever questioned them in the manner IK has.

UK army chief lauds leadership of COAS Asim Munir

United Kingdom’s Chief of General Staff General Sir Patrick Sanders on Friday lauded the leadership of Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir and recognised the “honesty and integrity” of the officers of the Pakistan Armed Forces.

The British army chief spoke about the Pakistani military as the chief guest at a luncheon hosted at the Army and Navy Club in London in honour of close to 50 senior British military men of the Quetta Association who studied and served in Pakistan Army's Command and Staff College in the last 50 years.

According to the Pakistan High Commission in London, Gen Sanders stated that there was no comparison to the Pakistan military's professional finesse and expertise. He also termed Pakistan as UK Army's foremost priority in various avenues of Defence Association and Defence Collaboration during his tenure.

The British army officer also spoke about the trips he had undertaken to Pakistan and regretted that his upcoming visit to Pakistan would be the last in the uniform.

As per the press release, in his address the British general spoke at length on the significance of Pakistan as an extremely vital country situated exactly at the centre of the East and the West.

“Pakistan army is battle-hardened and known for its ability to defend the country as well as providing vital help to the partner countries,” stated Gen Sanders said.

Defiant COAS warns against ‘negative propaganda, social media trolls’

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Friday said that negative propaganda and social media trolls could not distract the nation from working for the development and prosperity of Pakistan and its people.

The army chief expressed these remarks while addressing the Green Pakistan Initiative conference.

In July last year, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif had inaugurated the initiative along with the army chief which aims to bring investment worth billions of dollars in the next four to five years in the agriculture sector in Pakistan.

The premier said that the Green Pakistan Initiative would be the second green revolution, paving the way for prosperity and progress in the country.

He stated that under this programme, the government anticipated an average investment of 30 to 50 billion dollars in Pakistan over the next three to four years. “Our efforts are focused to enhance productivity and transform barren land into fertile ground which will significantly bolster our revenues."

“We are all a united team Pakistan – Inshallah with the cooperation and support of the people, all efforts of those who distract and obstruct Pakistan’s development journey will fail,” the COAS said during the conference today.

He said that the armed forces of the country with the support of the nation would fail all the inimical forces bent on impeding Pakistan’s development and prosperity.

“In today’s era, complete independence without economic stability is not possible, whereas no instability would be tolerated in Pakistan’s journey of prosperity and development. Let us all reject negative forces together and focus on Pakistan’s journey of development and stability,” he said.

Addressing a ceremony last year, the army chief told the participants that the scope of ‘Green Initiative’ would be spread all over Pakistan.

He expressed his determination to steer Pakistan out of the prevailing crisis. "We have decided to lead Pakistan out of the current crisis," he said.

"The army belongs to the people, and the people belong to the army,” the COAS added, emphasising the strong bond between the armed forces and the people.

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir met his British counterpart General Sir Patrick Sanders, where the two discussed measures to further elevate bilateral defence relations, the military’s media affairs wing said on Wednesday.

In the meeting, which was also attended by CGS-designate of the UK Army General Sir Roland Walker, both sides “discussed matters of professional interest and measures to further elevate bilateral defence relations”, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

The army chief thanked Gen Sanders, the chief of general staff (CGS) of the UK Army, for his services in enhancing bilateral military ties and felicitated Gen Walker on his nomination as the UK Army’s next CGS, the statement added.

COAS Munir and Gen Sanders addressed the opening session of the sixth Pakistan-UK Regional Stabilisation Conference at Islamabad’s National Defence University on Tuesday, the ISPR said. The UK Army’s CGS-designate also attended the event.

The conference is a flagship defence and security dialogue between Pakistan and the UK, held alternately in the two countries, the statement noted.

It brings together a “formidable corpus of subject matter experts in diverse domains, including diplomats, defence officials, intellectuals and civil society representatives”.

In connection with the conference, a 30-member UK delegation led by Standing Joint Force Commander Major General Tom Bateman was visiting Pakistan from April 29 to May 3, the ISPR said.

“During the conference, delegations from both sides will exchange perspectives on global and regional environment and its impact on national security, and regional peace and stability,” it added.

The ISPR highlighted that this year, the scope of discussion had been expanded from bilateral to regional issues and that defence officials of both countries were also participating in the conference.

In a meeting with COAS Munir last year during his Pakistan visit, the UK CGS had acknowledged the Pakistan Army’s sacrifices in the fight against terrorism. He had also called on Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza.

Army well aware of constitutional limits, expect same from others: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir said on Thursday the army was well aware of its constitutional limits and expected others to abide by them too.

The army chief, speaking at the passing out parade of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) in Risalpur, observed that Article 19 of the Constitution defines the boundaries within which freedom of speech and opinions exist.

"Those who disregard the explicit constraints outlined in the Constitution have no grounds to criticize others," said the COAS.

He told the cadets they were central to the country's hopes and aspirations, tasked with safeguarding the aerial frontiers and regional solidarity.

"It is expected that you will live your lives with courage, character, and competence," he added.

Gen Munir further said, "You will always uphold the nation's tradition of excellence, professionalism, and bravery," said the COAS.

He added that an escalation in the arms race could potentially disrupt the equilibrium of power in our region, adding that advancements in technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics, and quantum computing, are changing the use of air power while also expanding its scope.

“Without a strong air force, a country is at the mercy of any aggressor,” the COAS said. He added that PAF has always lived up to the nation's expectations.

The COAS said that the PAF has displayed remarkable courage and professionalism while patrolling the airspace, even in challenging circumstances, as exemplified by the events of February 2019.

The recent conflict in Gaza serves as a poignant reminder of the immense human suffering that wars inflict, he added, stating that the indiscriminate targeting of civilians, including the elderly, women, and children, underscores the escalating violence witnessed globally.

The army chief said that India's occupation of Kashmir is unlawful stating that despite the international community's silence regarding the ongoing aggression in Kashmir, the cry for freedom resonates loudly in the region.

“We will continue to provide moral, political, and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers. Always remember that truth is power while falsehood can never be powerful,” said General Munir.

Referring to PAF martyrs and aces such as Rashid Minhas, Sarfaraz Rafiqi, and MM Alam, the COAS said these airmen rendered services and sacrifices to protect the dignity of the country.

“Be committed to the responsibility you are being entrusted with and remain loyal to the state of Pakistan," said Gen Munir as he wrapped up his address to the newly inducted airmen.

Speaking at the Green Pakistan Initiative (GPI) earlier, Gen Munur said that negative propaganda and social media trolls could not distract the nation from advancing towards the development and prosperity of Pakistan and its people.

He asserted that the unwavering support of the armed forces, coupled with the collective resolve of the nation, would thwart all adversarial forces seeking to hinder Pakistan's progress.

The army chief urged the populace to unite in rejecting the influence of these detrimental elements, emphasizing the imperative of resilience and unity in the face of such challenges.

He emphasised that the negative propaganda and social media trolls could not distract the nation from working for the development and prosperity of Pakistan and its people, warning that no attempt to create instability would be tolerated.”

In today’s era, complete independence without economic stability is not possible, whereas no instability would be tolerated in Pakistan’s journey towards prosperity and development. Let us all reject negative forces together and focus on Pakistan’s journey of development and stability,” he said.

Army Chief General Asim Munir Thursday said those who flout the "clear restrictions imposed" on freedom of expression in the Constitution cannot point fingers at others.

The army chief's statement came while addressing cadets during the Pakistan Air Force's passing out parade at the Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He maintained that the military is well aware of its constitutional limits and also expects others to uphold the Constitution.

"Article 19 of the Constitution of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan clearly defines the limits of freedom of speech and expression of opinion," said General Asim.

The chief of army staff, who was the chief guest at the passing out parade, lauded PAF's professionalism, stating that the force has always lived up to the expectations of the nation.

Addressing the cadets, he maintained that a country is at the mercy of any aggressor without a strong air force.

He added that the PAF patrolled the airspace in all kinds of difficulties with unparalleled bravery and professionalism, and February 2019 is a great example for all of us.

Praising the cadets, the army chief said that they are the centre of the nation's hopes, the guardian of the skies and the guarantor of regional unity. He added that the military expects that the cadets will lead a life adorned with the virtues of character, courage and competence.

General Asim expressed confidence that the cadets will never hesitate to sacrifice for the defence, honour and dignity of the motherland.

He said that the military leadership expects them to always uphold the nation's best spirit, professionalism and the eternal tradition of bravery.

Commenting on regional peace and security, the army chief said that the arms race will also disturb the balance of power in our region.

Speaking about the prevailing situation in Palestine, the army chief said the war in Gaza is the latest example of the suffering that wars can bring. He said the indiscriminate killing of elderly people, women and children in Gaza is proof that violence is increasing in the world.

Addressing the Kashmir issue, General Asim said India has illegally occupied Kashmir and the silence of the entire world about the ongoing Indian aggression in the valley cannot suppress the voice of freedom there.

Sharing Pakistan's commitment towards the cause, he aid we will continue to provide moral, political and diplomatic support to our Kashmiri brothers.

Addressing the passing-out parade of cadets at Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Asghar Khan Academy in Risalpur as the chief guest, he said, “We are well aware of our constitutional limits and expect others to uphold the Constitution.”

Noting that Article 19 of the Constitution “clearly defines the limits of freedom of speech and expression of opinion”, the army chief said, “Those, who flout the clear restrictions imposed on freedom of expression in the Constitution, cannot point fingers at others.”

COAS Munir said that the cadets were expected to “lead a life adorned with the virtues of character, courage and competence”, adding that their “conduct would not only be extraordinary for their personal ethics but also for the respected institution”.

He emphasised that the military leadership expected the cadets to “always uphold our nation’s best spirit, the professional expertise of the institution and the eternal tradition of bravery”.

“Remain committed to the responsibility being given to you and remain loyal to the state of Pakistan,” the COAS said.

Gen Munir highlighted that the arms race posed a risk of disturbing the region’s balance of power.

“Specific technologies, including artificial intelligence, robotics and quantum computing, are changing the use of air power as well as expanding its scope,” he noted.

On the ongoing Israeli offensive on Gaza, which has killed more than 34,000 Palestinians, the army chief said the conflict was the “latest example of the sufferings that wars can bring”.

He said the indiscriminate killing of elderly people, women and children in Gaza was proof that violence was rising in the world.

About India-occupied Kashmir, COAS Munir asserted that India had maintained its illegal occupation of the region. He said the “silence of the entire world about the ongoing Indian aggression in Kashmir cannot suppress the voice of freedom there”.

COAS Gen Asim Munir pledges to protect Pakistan from chaos

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Thursday pledged to stand resolutely against any attempt to create chaos in Pakistan, asserting the military's commitment to safeguarding national integrity and upholding the principles of Shariah and the Constitution.

Speaking at the Ulema and Mashaikh Conference in Islamabad, General Munir highlighted the severity of corruption, describing it as the greatest crime in the eyes of Allah.

Hahahaha :D:ROFLMAO::LOL:

Shariah, Constitution shirkers aren't Pakistanis: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir on Thursday urged Ulema and Mashaikh (religious scholars) to promote tolerance and unity in society to fight extremism.

Addressing the National Ulema Convention, the COAS said the Pakistan Army was working hard to eradicate strife from the nation, in keeping with divine commandments, as such discord is considered a grave sin against Allah.

He said, "We do not consider those as Pakistanis, who do not follow Shariah and the Constitution." The religious scholars should bring back moderation in society and reject dissension, he added.

The western civilization and way of life was not the nation's ideal, it should be proud of its own civilization, he said and mentioned verses from Allama Dr Muhammad Iqbal's poetry, highlighting that the Ummah stands apart from Western nations, as followers of the Holy Prophet (PBUH) are a special and distinguished community.

The COAS noted that the Pakhtun brothers and the people of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa had rendered great sacrifices in the war against terrorism and the armed forces along with the nation stand with them appreciating their efforts.

For more than 40 years, he said Pakistan has hosted millions of Afghan refugees, adding, "We are explaining to them not to oppose their neighbour, brotherly Islamic country and longtime friend for the sake of subversive Kharijite (referring to TTP)."

He said that the Kharijites represented a great strife or fitnah in society as Allama Iqbal said: "Education may be a fitna if it leads you away from Allah Almighty. Likewise, property, children, and estates can become temptations or strife if they divert you from justice.

He said, "We ask people to opt for peaceful protest for their demands."

Speaking about extremism, the COAS said, "Allah says that there is no compulsion in religion. Crime and smuggling mafias are supporting terrorism." The anarchy was spread through social media, he added.

The army chief said, "No one has the courage to desecrate the glory of the Holy Prophet (SAW). If someone tries to create anarchy in Pakistan, by God, we will stand against him."

He underscored that no power in the world could harm Pakistan because this country was built to last.

"Millions of Asim Munirs, millions of politicians and millions of scholars are sacrificed for Pakistan because the country is more important to us," he said. "If you want to know the importance of the state, ask Iraq, Syria and Libya," he added.

He recalled that inimical elements used to claim that they had dumped the two-nation theory into the Bay of Bengal, and questioned rhetorically, "where are they today?"

The army chief said, "Partition of Kashmir is an incomplete agenda of Indo-Pak. My heart cries out over the atrocities in Palestine and Gaza. We should draw a lesson from Palestine that we have to protect ourselves and make Pakistan strong."

In his address, the Chief of the Army Staff stated, "We stand united and resolute in our commitment to eradicate terrorism from our soil. We will not tolerate extremism, violence, or fear-mongering."

He condemned "twisted ideologies that seek to divide us, senseless killings that aim to intimidate us, and inhumane tactics employed by Fitna Al Khawarij (FAK) that attempt to break our spirit."

He emphasized, "Let us strive for a Pakistan where everyone can thrive in peace and prosperity. We are one nation, one people, and together we can achieve greatness."

He acknowledged the vital role of Ulema in promoting peace, tolerance, and inclusivity, countering extremist narratives, and educating society to reject hate and violence.

Attempts to weaken army tantamount to undermine country: COAS

Army Chief General Asim Munir has stated weakening the armed forces is tantamount to weakening the country, pledging that the military will not allow let its sacrifices to go in vain.

“We emerge as a strong nation after trial and tribulations. To weaken Pakistan's armed forces is tantamount to weakening the country itself."

He stated this while addressing the Azadi Parade at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul on the eve of Independence Day late Tuesday.

The parade was held at Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) Kakul to mark the 78th Independence Day.

The army chief said armed forces will not let sacrifices of their martyrs to go waste and added that the nation's unwavering trust in the Pakistan Army is the military's most valuable asset.

“Neither any negative force has ever been able to weaken this relationship of trust and love nor can it do so in future,” he said adding that the armed forces have taken an oath to defend the country internally and externally.

Referring to the crises being faced by the country, the COAS said: “Historically, we as a nation have always emerged stronger after every hardship.”

Mutual trust between the nation and the armed forces played key role in this regard, he added.

The army chief was of the view that internal conflicts and chaos weakened the country and paved the way for external aggression.

“Pakistan came into being to stand out among the comity of nations. Pakistan is a fait accompli and it cannot be undone,” the army chief stated.

Gen Munir said the country's people “are living as a free nation owing to the martyrs' sacrifices”.

Gen Munir said that the base of our national consciousness is the ideology of Pakistan, which stands on the two-nation theory.

“May the Almighty Allah grant us the courage and strength to defend the country and make it a successful and great example for future generations.”

The army chief said that the two-nation theory provided an opportunity to the Muslims of the subcontinent to have separate identity, culture and civilization.

The army chief was the chief guest of the Azadi Parade ceremony.

The cadets of the Pakistan Military Academy presented a spectacular demonstration of their skills in the drill parade.

On this occasion, a special tribute was presented to the martyrs of the land.

One of the best COAS we have ever had.

Guy stood up took action against all those involved in creating the frekeinstein that destroyed our country. Faiz hameed, shuja pasha all these are responsible for what they have done.

Loving what he is doing with the cult. PTI had gone too much out of control, he has bought them back to earth.

Arresting everyone who dares to speak their mind?

The irony of some people describing Pti as cult. The country has gone to the dogs ever since the PDM etc have taken over. Not a single thing about the country is worth praising for. They have destoryed the very fabric of the country. Life has become unbarable for anyone who lives in the country and makes an honest living. No one is to blame but the current regime. There's corruption everywhere in the world but no country's establishment works against the interest of the people to the point where the country becomes a joke to the rest of the world. Pakistan looks no different than war torn Sudan in the current instance. The only people saying positive things about the army mafia are those who stand to gain something from it.

Lol wishful thinking.

The guy has bought the currency back to proper value by stopping the smuggling of dollars to AFG. Refugees have been sent back.

But because these things rnt reported by pti supporters, so many of you wouldnt know this.

No one stands to gain anything personally from asim munir. Asim munir has done a great job putting a muzzle on pti.

This is just sad. Seeing how blind some people can be when their own homeland is getting destroyed right in front of their own eyes. Even more sad to see them defending those responsible for the decline.

Praise be to Genrel Asim who's foresight has enabled the country to solve some of the biggest challenges such as illigal Afghanis in the country and the Rupee gaining its strength back. These 2 issues have plagues the country for ages and caused 1.6 million people to leave the country in the last year and a half

Ending populism
Arresting people just for making a satire video? Really?

There are countless ways to handle criticism, but silencing voices by killing journalists, arresting, torturing, and detaining content creators is far from the right approach.

The popularity of DHA owners and the government has certainly soared, but for all the wrong reasons.

And why exactly does the Army chief feel the need to tackle populism? Last I checked, that wasn’t part of his job description.

Pakistan is now truly a utopia where the rule of law is respected and upheld, the people are more united than ever, and inflation has vanished as if it never existed. Children are attending school in record numbers. There are no longer any issues paying electric bills, as the establishment has discovered an unlimited source of energy to supply power. Pakistan is now the real deal. People who left the country are returning in droves. No one remembers Muhammad Ali Jinnah anymore. This guy is the new Messiah whose name will be remembered by future generations to come.

The latest news is that the current hybrid government spent thousands trying to curb internet populism, only to end up costing millions in lost business that relies on internet services.

COAS cautions against insidious threat of fake news, propaganda

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir has cautioned against the insidious threat of fake news and propaganda being perpetrated by inimical elements to weaken the bond between the people of Pakistan and Armed Forces, reassuring that the unwavering support of the nation, including army veterans, will fail all such futile efforts. The COAS hosted a reception in honour of Pakistan Army veterans on the Independence Day that united a multitude of retired army officers and soldiers. The event served as a testament to the unbreakable bond between the Pakistan Army and its veterans, united in their commitment to the nation’s prosperity and security, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said.

While talking to Pakistan Army veterans, General Asim Munir emphasized the importance of unity and resilience in the face of challenges, urging veterans to continue playing a vital role in Pakistan’s development. The COAS paid tribute to the contributions of retired personnel, lauding their role in shaping the nation’s history, said the ISPR.

The veterans expressed faith and confidence in the leadership of the Pakistan Army, pledging their support in combating internal and external security challenges. Retired army chiefs General Ashfaq Parvez Kiyani and General Raheel Sharif, officers and soldiers attended the event.

Everything becomes sad when the populist part is being burried.

Weren't you one of the few posters here on 09th May 2023 inciting people to revolt....
So what was it? You either wanted to PTI supporters to gather in numbers so they could effect a revolution or have them jailed or even killed...
