Amla's style is like Dravid and Moyo fused together. His defensive technique reminds me of Dravid and he plays his shots like Moyo.

The thing to highlight; after his century no falling in sijda or any over-dramatizations, just a simple appreciative bat raise to take in the applause and that's it.
"For all of you who have asked, Firdose Moonda, our South Africa correspondent at The Oval, confirms that Amla (and Imran Tahir) are only fasting on non-match days"

Quality innings. Looked a bit fidgety at the end but made it.

The Pakistan players, by and large, are playing to the public gallery in Pakistan by pretending how religious they are.THIS ... and this guy is properly more religiously observant then all the Pak players.. Just shows they are overly emotional and dramatic, and they cant play half the innings Amla can :umarakmal

Some of their antics in their attempts to prove their religious credentials are extremely embarrassing, and reinforce the negative perceptions of Islam due to their false attempts at religious piety.

To be honest the only player I've seen do sajda after 50 is u akmal. That's probably because he knows he can't get to 100 (due to batting so low).
amla 300 and kallis 200 would be great.
Hashim Amla > Indian team (in England)
Before today, no South African batsman had scored 300 runs in a Test match. AB de Villiers' 278 stood as the tallest mountain and when Hashim Amla went past him, De Villiers was shown on camera cheering him on
And Biff Smith went past Gary, AB went past Smith, and Hash went past AB.
"Some say he was clean shaven when he started his innings"

lol hilarious pic. all saw andrew strauss demolish his sunglasses in frustration due to the emotional volcano that was the dictator.

it's funny that just because Amla is a muslim, Pakistanis (and Afghanis) have become his fans. What about all the other great batsmen to watch who aren't muslims? Why isn't there an AB Devilliers fan club, a Ricky Ponting, or Gautum Gambhir fan club on PakPassion? Doesn't have to be these particular cricketers, but any other foreign cricketer who isn't a muslim...
Another century. What a fine player, and a nice human being.
I like how his celebrations are almost muffled, but you can see how happy he is when they replay him immediately after he's hit the run for the hundred, and he smiles
Who cares he's an awesome batsman and he's Muslim, so we have some form of brotherly allegiance to him. Congratulations on pointing out the obvious bro
