Pakistan has kicked out the architects of those highs and this forum has celebrated their exit with grand parades.Win or lose is part of the game.
I have lost faith in our test match cricket. But in LOIs we will bounce back.
Just a few years ago I remember watching Indian anchors who were commenting on our team reaching semi final and finals of world cups in T20.
Now we are at a low ebb.
Take the good with the bad. It's what makes sport enjoyable.
We weren't merely replacing players but replacing an ideology.Pakistan has kicked out the architects of those highs and this forum has celebrated their exit with grand parades.
Babar and Rizwan deserved better. They were not ATGs but they are still the highest quality players available in Pakistan.
The replacements for Babar and Rizwan are worse than the lowest performances by the two.
If we have replaced khushdil and salman for them then we are doomedWe weren't merely replacing players but replacing an ideology.
Sure the execution hasn't been successful, but the steps taken were necessary.
Just because these players haven't been successful immediately doesn't mean we have to go back to the old ideology. We push forward with other players.
Rizwan and Babar have only been removed from T20. They are still in tests and ODI. Many ATG dont play this format much anyway. Root or Steve Smith legacy hasn't been dented by not playing much T20. If Babar and Rizwan want to be ATG they still have opportunities in other formats.
Khushdil hasn't played. He is a squad member only. He isn't a replacement for them.If we have replaced khushdil and salman for them then we are doomed
With the captaincy and the bowling injuries are we talking the 90s,00s or the 10sThings have not been right for Pak cricket۔
We used to be the land of pacers but they are injured on and off, hitting their career during their peak ages
Too much political influence led to frequent management/captaincy changes
Every chairmen in last 2 years came up with their own captain and rules
Once the team start getting used to a certain system, it is changed by the new management
We have not lost belief in Pak cricket but in the deep rooted system; that, if corrected, can see Pakistan cricket, with the same team, to new highs
the new guys have v much potential
eg, Shaheen, if given a chance to carry on his captaincy, could have done wonders but his fate was decided after a couple of series failure
Reality of Pakistan cricket. Past, present and future..
Batting is the main issue imo. Just not enough good powerhittersWith the captaincy and the bowling injuries are we talking the 90s,00s or the 10s
In terms of competitiveness this is the worst pakistan team I have seen since 2007
In terms of talent it’s the best Pakistan team I’ve seen since 2003
The only thing lacking is the fast bowling reserves, which are more depleted than the river Nile during the 7 months of winter
Also a captain who performs with the bat would be a bonus
Fixed for youI have not lost faith ... just do not expect them to win against the 5 big boyz or Windies for that matter because of batting limitations.

Pakistan was never this bad in all of its history. This is rock bottom. Both as a nation and as a sport team4-0 against India in 6 months, unable to beat any proper Test playing nations, dearth of fast bowlers, lack of power hitters, clueless skipper. Faith k F b nhi ha idar

This has been lingering since the days of Babar and Rizwan opening, so a good 5 years now.Fought well today, better than what I was expecting. Needed 10-15 more runs to really seal it. Not having hard hitters in the middle-late order has cost Pakistan many games in the past 5-6 years. How we can't find reliable strong hitters in the middle is beyond belief
In ODI world cups Pakistan have been bad for a long time.... T20s there's still some hope.... Test team is weak no chance of making a WTC final anytime soon.Pakistan was never this bad in all of its history. This is rock bottom. Both as a nation and as a sport team
Pakistan traditionally always had decent players who at the very least beat lower ranked teams and competed with India. We were unpredictable but we had match winners. The current team is a sharp contrast to the teams we have had in the past.Pakistan fluctuate from #5 to #8.
Pakistan and Sri Lanka are at a similar level. Not top teams but also not minnows. Somewhere in between.

I lost faith in pakistan cricket about a decade ago. I have zero expectations from this team.

But we smashed Namibia bhai... Netherlands...Bhool gaye... Legendary performance..4-0 against India in 6 months, unable to beat any proper Test playing nations, dearth of fast bowlers, lack of power hitters, clueless skipper. Faith k F b nhi ha idar
I feel the same way. Too many T20 leagues, tournaments happening every year, and heavy Indian influence have destroyed the magic and beauty of cricket.I lost faith in cricket as a whole. I still watch due to nostalgia factor. There is no emotion involved. Cricket has been ruined by franchise leagues, overcommercialization, petty politics etc.
Ive watched since 84/85. The players aren't totally to blame. The blame is on the govt and the PCB. There is no plan or strategy. Its run by babus. Corrupt boomers who couldnt care less about the country. Our current rulers have no need for sport. Its just for low level civilians. They have no idea what the impact major sport can have.Yes. I follow cricket (including Pakistani cricket) since 1997. I have to say current Pakistani side is worse compared to previous generations of Pakistani cricketers.
I think this decline started after 2022 World T20. Before that, they were doing okay (finished 5th in 2019 WC, went to semi in 2021 World T20, went to final in 2022 World T20).
Kind of agree with them. I don’t think there’s any sports team in the world who have as much pressure and media criticism to win the trophy and be that low ranked to win. Pakistan are arguably 6th/7th favourites to win every single tournament. And yet Pakistan has won tournaments and got to finals in recent decades. The more talented sides of the past post 92 and 2000s won nothing.
