A big fan of horror movies, probably seen the best already but would be interesting to get thoughts on it

and horror needs to be super-natural, personally not a big fan of likes of Wrong Turn and Hills Have Eyes and Hostel type of movies

There are some good indian horror movies as well but lets see what else we get here ..... basically want to go :abbas1 and not :rp in the movie lol

I am a big time horror buff with a thing for independent film making. Last few years there have been a silent revolution in the horror genre with so many talented directors finally doing some justice to this underrated genre. Below are some of my favorite new age horror movies.

It Follows
A dark song
Hereditary
Apostle
The witch
The Babadook
Veronica
The Autopsy of Jane Doe
The Ritual
Midsommar

Tumbbad is the only one that comes to mind. Intelligent storytelling, amazing cinematography, brilliant direction and reliable acting performances. Gets a bit monotonous in the middle trying to genre-bend but catches the tempo soon enough. Overall a very refreshing indie horror and perhaps the first of its kind in Indian cinema. Very much worth a watch unless you are claustrophobic.

I would put Pan’s Labyrinth in that lost too

Pan's labyrinth is one of the finest modern day arts but don't think I would put it in a list of horror movies. It was a story of human suffering and grim realities of war being meticulously told in the guise of a fantasy.

I'd call it a dark fantasy, some elements of horror but I'd not put it in the genre either
