How humiliating and embarrassing has Operation 'Sindoor' been for India and PM Modi in terms of their image?

First of all, the superiority of the PAF has to be acknowledged. There is evidence that at least 3 of our fighters have been downed, including one Rafale whereas there is no evidence that we took down a single jet of theirs.

Whether it was because of their tactics or the greater range of the PL-15 air to air missiles , there can be no doubt that India suffered more reversals in aerial combat and the deflection from Indian military spokespersons suggests the same.

However, it does seem that the drone and missile attacks by India on Pakistani airbases , while their impact has been exaggerated , was far more effective than the counter offensive from PAK.

Runways and even hangars have been damaged on the other side as confirmed by satellite imagery and verified by independent open source intel .

On the other hand, PAK only really got to Udhampur and even then only damaged non airfield buildings at that.

Suggests that S400 and Akash were more effective than whatever Chinese tech PAK uses as part of air defence. To some extent while PAF is superior to IAF , they are also more reliant on PAF for air defence than the Indian side is.


This is all based on the evidence we have got so far. Subject to revision with more information in the coming days.

I still dont understand why Modi will ask for ceasefire..Pak DGMO called..after the Pak air bases were blasted out...nyt even mentioned the same....paf was no where to be seen after pak claimed success - 125 planes 1 hr dog fight ..zero image of missiles or fireballs ..but then what was PAF doing when the radar and air bases were hit

It has provided pictures with time stamps. I can time stamp my picture from 1945 and claim I am a time traveller. India also does not allow full coverage of its bases via satellites and restricts them from private sat images. Pakistan does no such thing.

Have some shame and self reflection. You lost almost $ 1billion worth of assets. You log onto social media the entire globe is laughing at you.

No one is questioning the numbers..what we are debating is Indian armed forces hiding casualties .or not ..India never hides their shaheeeds and martyrs...if they did these news will not be available to you. What you are mistaking is thinking an ias officer like thapa is Indian military...unlike Pakistan we are a democracy..military doesnt control ias officers...you are also including people killed in cross border firing into the list of people laying down their lives while protecting or attacking targets as part of OP sindoor. Cross border violations or CFV..started before op Sindoor and those deaths are reported ..there were civilian casualties too. This happened after op Sindoor started. Whereas OP sindoor strikes were by missiles uav and drones. Since you are doing research..you can search those links etc or video to see if the army honored them or just rejected their deaths.

You better ask your paf air marshall why would they allow enemy satellites to take images...so Pak satellites and Chinese satellites have to take permission from India to take images..wow..what a logic sirjee.. Madrassa logic for the win..already nyt and other sources have accessed satellite images of Indian bases and debunked destruction fake stories..I'm sure paks ally China has better satellites than India and for sure they have bigger balls than Pakistan to photograph every installation...

India started the conflict, and in response, the Pakistan Air Force shot down seven Indian jets. After that, the Indian Air Force seemed unwilling to continue and reportedly moved their aircrafts more than 300 kilometers away from the border to avoid further losses.Yes, Pakistan did suffer some losses both in lives and damage to our airbases — but most of the world doesn’t seem to believe India’s version of events. So the question is: what exactly is the Indian public celebrating? A military failure or a retreat they were forced into?
 
I think the IAF has been further humiliated. Its a force that is now a very distant third or maybe 4th in the Indian hierarchy. And with drone tech and unmanned aerial vehicles playing an even more important role, it will continue to lose its reputation. Indians should be asking what they actually got from the French for the money? We paid about 39 million for the j10's and the jf17's are even cheaper per unit. A Rafael cost Indian about 200 million a unit. That's extortionate. Who made money on this.? And although they managed to fire their missiles , they paid a very heavy price.

The Pakistani regime also failed to capitalise in the situation. They should have taken out all of the Rafaels a day the airbases should have been destroyed within the first two or three hours. But as usual they stepped away. If this was Isreal or even India they would have pressed their advantage.

Finally we should be getting the j35 on a fast track cause the Chinese have realised we can test their weapons in real time. But one area we can improve.is our air defences. The truth is our air defence doctrine has been woefully lacking until very recently. The boomers just didn't think it was as urgent. But with the middle.east and Ukraine wars showing us it's importance its clear we can improve this. And they will. With the S400 now less of a Jinn as previously thought we can create a true multi layered air defence network. Also we need new bases away from the border and a real NATO style.defenfe pact with Afghanistan to achieve the much maligned strategic depth.

It could be part of a risky engagement ..tom cooper has an excellent article highlighting India deciding not to hit PAF but terrorists and surprised by the buddy radar system. Question is so what ..is PAF able to protect Paksitani jehadis..your prized assets ..no they were liquidated by IAF. Mission accomplished with some material losses but no pilot loss. And that is if those planes were lost. In an aggressive attack..you are bound to take some losses. If it was easy to take 0 loss..then anyone can become an air force pilot.

I personally think India must not rest unless we take back PoK. It is the land which is rightfully ours but under Pakistan's seize it is bit like Btadford i.e a hub for terrorists. So we must make every effort to seize it. This time we came close but everytime papa Trump & IMFs free money will not be there to save Pakistan. By 2050, I fully expect Balochistan and PoK to be split our from Pakistan.

It was actually signed over to India by a Hindu Maharaja against the wishes of the inhabitants. By rights being a majority Muslim region it should have joined Pakistan.

But I agree, if India was genuine it would have made every effort to seize it. That it hasn't only reinforces that either India is too weak, or realises that the people of Kashmir reject hindutva.

A few things:

a) Like I said India restricts images of its sensitive bases from private satellites, which we do not. Even then Adhampur was clearly damaged
b) The damage to PAF bases has been very minor. A runway slightly broken on its side, another slightly cratered...anyone with a basic military knows such damage is repaired under an hour. Its like me pulling out 10 tiles from the driveway claiming I've destroyed your house, bringing me to third point
c) India used its elite missile for this and achieved laughable 'damage'. While all our attacks were by literally our bottom choice missile. India's performance was so pathetic we didn't need to get out of second gear

J35 by all accounts will be inducted by the end of the year. India needs to worry about how far behind their airforce will be of us. It already has had 2 awakenings in less than a decade.

A female reporter for Sky News in Pakistan just did a very short documentary where she visited Pakistan Kashmir after the bombing...

Watch this and you'll see that the mosque was not some terrorist camp, but a normal mosque and where young girls went to school during the day...

Indian twitter handles saying India's FM phoned Pakistan before the strikes to say India will target 'terror infastructure' and expected that Pakistan won't retaliate.

Are these people deluded? Which self respecting nation would ever expect this nonsense? Indians are utterly deluded. They pulled the same nonsense in 2019 when Indian posters on PP would say but we attacked 'terrorists' so you should be happy. Which nation in the entire world accepts its arch rival to hit its land and then applaud that action, no matter who it hit?

I have no idea how India has progressed to a 4t economy. Its mentaility, morals, delusions have gone back a century. India tried to stop IMF giving us their handout in our begging bowl. more than coping mechanism, they need to allay the simmering disbelief at whats happened. tbh i support this, if they didnt portray the narrative of victory, they'd end up doing something erratic to save face. i still dont think this conflict is over, this will simmer and occasionally boil over for a few years.

You are right that there is a section of right wing people who are idiots like this or pursue similar agenda in non violent ways...truth is Islam and Hinduism are two very distinct cultures and most people in india do not interact..but avg people maintain peace if not friendship...because there is separation...many people do have personal friendship on an individual level at same societal level...anyways rambling aside there is intolerance in our society....but really it's rich coming from a country that is built on antindemocracy...lynches people for blasphemy, kills millions of Bengalis, commits crimes against Baloch Sindh and Afghan refugees. Yet despite having a large proportion of minorities, the BJP still got in power. That suggests that the Hindu element almost exclusively voted for a hindutva govt.
 
India's increasing it's military budget by Rs 50,000 crore. Just shows that internally their government recognizes they're not on par with Pakistan.

Our PM and army openly told in PC, that it was Pakistan who reached out to Indian DGMO asking for a ceasefire.

Not sure why should be not trust our people and take your version as gospel truth.

The fact that no one from Pak gov or army has ever disputed the claims made by India, it only enforces the belief they were speaking the truth

It's kind of sad seeing Indians pretending that Trump didn't give them a public humiliation. He's bragging to the whole world about a ceasefire while Modi has gone silent signifying his lack of leadership on events.

For a normal country yes. But I said in another thing, India since Vajpayee is not interested and more importantly does not want peace. They're too far gone for that. They have tried (and failed) to apply the BCCI-PCB model to the real world ie trying to stop IMF giving us a handout to destroy our economy, for years trying to isolate us by propaganda (who remembers the vast misinformation operation exposed in the EU) to lobbying other countries.

Unlike cricket though in the real world they can't bribe and threaten other countries to isolate us. But make no mistake, if this country could do that, it 100% would. If there was a way for India to genocide Pakistan they would, the same Indian posters cheering on attacks here or Indian trolls online since the start of the month sending vile rape threats to Pakistani women online...they would cheer this along.

Its why Pakistan should 100%, after straightening out the country, focus on India by allying with any neighbor it can and how to punish it so it never is able to threaten us again, the best bet being breaking the country up into indepedent states. I don't even buy that Vajpayee's efforts were genuine. Maybe he personally bought in, but I don't believe his party did. Indian social media warriors have long insisted they don't want peace with Pakistan...the logic being, even if they suffer slightly, Pakistan would be crippled so would be worth it.

Just look at their IPL policy, it follows that same reasoning. Everyone else can play, but not even a single Pakistani player in case they benefit financially. They downgraded Asia Cup status in an attempt to create a new Big Three power base where they could finally rub shoulders with the non-Asians. But guess where cricket's fanbase is?

They are an embarrassment to the continent.
