How is Babar Azam the solution to Pakistan’s middle order spin issue in T20?

I was first one to call that he is being batter at a number which is not his, they did the same by opening him in the ODIs last year. But there is not doubt that Babar has regressed and the current Babar is only playing for his spot.

Maybe the trophy he left in 2022. No one knows. But let's call spade a spade. We are a **** team with shitty players and Babar is one of them.
 
In an era of T20 hacks, Babar's classical approach to the game is a breath of fresh air. Anyone who enjoys batting as an art knows the value Babar brings and haters can't change that.

Dunno if anyone else saw it as I did, but from his facial expressions while batting yesterday, Babar was scared. I can’t sugarcoat it.

Other Pakistani players looked puzzled, angry, glum, defiant, disappointed. But this guy..

For a player who has the highest number of runs in T20i, who was compared with the greats, and is supposed to be a leader, that is unacceptable.

At first i genuinely thought it was a strategic call to promote Babar Azam in stature to a designated Finisher & Punisher for death overs but when SBZ and SK didn't show enough intent during death overs, i became suspicious that maybe there was somethign else cooking that my innocent mind had not detected earlier.

What do you reckon?

He should be batting in top order but the cricket team and board is ran by some idiots that do not have any game awareness which was evident/got exposed vs India. Secondly a person as small as yours would laugh at something like this. The g batter who refused that single travelled 3000 KMs just to field for their country. Representing your country in any capacity is not less than an honor. Thanks for proving that your thinking is even smaller than the person you actually are.

Rizwan was a much better keeper
But yeah his T20 batting has regressed now

How these guys all forget their role in this is beyond amazing!
 
All those years Afridi was ostracised for his brainless batting & technique, that he would inspire a swathe of hacks who would continue the chain of regressing batting in the modern era.

But Babar has everything which Afridi was criticised for:

- He is technically sound
- He is patient at the crease
- Contrary to the normal Pakistani batter, he enjoys facing quick bowling
- Generally keeps the bat straight and will only go after the terrible balls
- Even better, the entire Pakistani media put him on a pedestal and this kind of batting the Pakistan fans respect

The biggest problem with this is that the game has moved on & on top of it all, Babar is a chicken hearted cricketer.

In an era of batting friendly conditions, bigger blades and rules which favour boundary hitting, you need to be aggressive from ball one, whether that’s hitting boundaries, rotating the strike or even running between the wicket; the first defence is attack and it’s a way of life in T20 cricket which is increasingly the future of this sport for better or worse.

Now Babar’s popularity is more dangerous then what we perceived to be the impact of how Afridi liked to play, we need more Shahid Afridi’s in todays world and fewer Babar Azam’s. It’s a huge danger for Pakistan’s future when a player like Babar who has no inclination to improve himself in-line with the modern requirements, will continue the witch-hunt to overly glorify his misleading stats & averages to brainwash the public and keep Pakistan in a loop of being content with complete mediocrity.
