What's new

How many more Test matches can Jasprit Bumrah play?

By his logic Bumrah who has won everywhere has surpassed Wasim, Imran and Waqar by big margin
Waqar shouldn't even be in the same sentence as the other three. Bumrah indeed has surpassed Imran by some distance, while Wasim is not too far ahead. Bumrah will never match his longevity, but he can make up for it in terms of record and achievements.

Stats without context is just propaganda pushing your own narrative.

Hadlee - His subcontinent stats were propped up by 23 wickets in a 3 test series vs the only real minnows of that time - Sri Lanka.

He had mediocre tour of Pakistan in 1976 and never toured there again. He had half decent tour of India in 1988.

As for Bumrah - you can quote whatever stats you want. He only bowls in India when there’s something in it for the bowlers. And if it’s a spin dustbowl he doesn’t bowl. He’s never toured Pakistan, never toured Sri Lanka, never toured Bangladesh.

So don’t give me some random 17 average.

Your stats analysis is kindergarten-esque. Someone give me a real challenge. This bud bud regurgitating of stats may work in India, but this is a pak forum.

don’t test with knowledge boy!

What cos you said so? Give me some proof.

the clock is ticking - bud, bud, bud, bud

Lol no. He averaged 17 in the Eng series. Anderson etc averaged 50+ lol.

And you can see how WI bowlers are bowling now.

Yeah you are right, Pakistanis need to understand how numbers work before they can understand stats. Here it's all jazba, junoon, qudraat ka nizaam etc.

Wasim and Waqar won nothing in Aus, so how do you view their performance?
That’s not the point - I was responding to someone who used that BgT series to prove he’s still got it.

And please Aus in the 90s / early 2000s were much better than the sorry batting lineup right now.

And the Ws beat Aus in Pak on much flatter tracks than Aus. That’s a bigger win in my book.

Naah.

Two W's went to Aus from late 80s to mid 90s also and that batting was on the level of current Aus batting or worse. Pak only toured Aus in the late 90s/early 00s ONCE when they were whitewashed.

Pak lost in Aus in 89-90 and 95-96 too.

And two W's also lost to Aus at home in 1997.

Again that sneaky thing of choosing specific subsets lol.

Waqar hardly played in 1989 series. Wasim actually had a great tour. It’s from that tour the Aussies fell in love with him.

95-96 was a great Australian team too.

1997 - there was no series. It was 1998 - Waqar didn’t play and wasim only played one game.

Honestly, do you research properly boy!

Wasim still lost in 89. Isn't that the criteria you use for Bumrah lol.

95-96 was hardly the late 90s early 00s team. And Pak still LOST.

Bumrah is still playing and will keep on increasing his Asia wickets.

Wasim, Waqar are retired and Imran is in jail. :ROFLMAO:

It’s futile putting stats in front of me Indians - I can destroy all of them with my background knowledge.

If you want to carry on, get in line.
Ok.
Wasim is then best ever.
Then imran

You win the internet. No one can defeat you.

Bumrah is a baby bowler only.

Bumrah’s greatness is down to his performance in Australia. Picking wickets in South Africa is no more tougher than picking wickets in Sri Lanka because of the favourable pitches for fast bowlers especially when India toured or even picking home wickets vs Australia, South Africa, England or New Zealand.

Nah, it's not just about Aus. He has MOS in SA, Eng and Aus. Simply said, standout among 25-30 players playing the series in the same conditions in the same series. I am not rating him high just on his raw stats.
