ICC CT 2017 | India [193/2] beat South Africa [191] by 8 wickets to qualify for the semi-finals

Great achivement that.."been mentioned by analysts"...when was the last time those analysts and their teams visited your country. Just chill dhonduu..

Never realized PP was representing a specific country. If that was the case this conversation wouldn't be actually happening :yk (something impossible @ discussion boards run by you lot :ma)

You are always welcome on our board, don't worry, no one will bully you :srini

Amla needs to rotate the strike here. Can't afford to play too many dots and increase the pressure on the rest of the batting line up.

India seem to be overly conservative and defensive in these couple of overs maybe asking the batsmen to target one side of the ground but imo these tactics must not be employed so early in the game. You have to look for early wickets else you will be clobbered.

Am I the only one who thinks that Umesh Yadav should have been in the playing 11, in place of Bumrah perhaps?

South Africa are worst chasers in Knock outs and India put them to bat first. Also go in with 2 pacers....

Unexpected...But will it be useful?

SA have started well, need to take wickets soon else it will be too late.. On paper SA line up with a good start can easily surpass 350+ so Ashwin and jaddu will play a key role here..

India trying to keep the scoring down, South Africa want to keep wickets in hand and set up a platform for AB and Miller.

Who will you like to face in Semis? India I would assume? I wouldn't want to run into red hot SA..

Things in favor of India:
1) not been in the best of form really. Lots of loopholes and players playing for themselves
2) india might be overconfident. South Africa won't be
3) SA if by any means play to their potential they can destroy anyone

Things in favor of SA:
1) India has played us a lot and know how to deal with us
2) India are a better team under pressure.
3) SA has a history of choking.

India is playing regressive cricket. Modern cricket needs the bowlers to attack rather than defend and slow up the rate. India will pay for this in the last 20 overs.

I can't recall, when IND last won chasing against SAF?

Analysis looks spot on. I'd like to play India because they're weaker than SA. Simple as that.

South Africa doing nicely... seeing off Bhuvi and Bumrah... will smash pandya and the spinners...

Amla needs to compose himself here. He wants to score quickly which is not necessary. Nothing to do with pressure or whatever.

Pakistan have cursed each and every country they have played with. Looks like the Hafeez Disease is contagious. India and South Africa were never used to batting THIS slow. Especially at the start of their innings but ever since the start of the Champions Trophy, even when their openers got big runs, they started off terribly slowly.

Hope India lose simply because Indians are holding all the tickets to the 2nd semi. If they lose they will start selling them.

Pace bowling of India looks slightly bleak in this match with Pandya as third seamer.

So South africa need to score 300 in the next 40 overs to score 330+, Indians have a great chance of restricting saffers under 350 :msd

I would have gone for Shami replacing Yadav and ashwin replacing pandya

Honors are even I believe. IND did check scoring rate, by about 15 runs, but SAF won't be unhappy for the middle order they have.
