Yes he doesn't bowl at full throttle, he is injured, he is playing after a gap, this is his comeback. Or else he would have been averaging under 10.

Cut him slack. Even after comeback he was the best bowler on show in the entire Srilanka tour and also Ireland tri series

The hate and bias dripping from so many posters here from Pakistan regarding Bangladesh is disgusting. In complete denial that they are currently a much better LOI side than us. Seriously, grow the eff up and learn to be objective.
 
While, pandya may be mediocre bowler, unlike many here, I never doubed his batted skills. What an innings.

See I am not talking about stats. What special skills does he have to stand out among the rest? Yes he has a great start, but in order to maintain those, he needs to have some real talent, which he clearly lacks going by his bowling.
 
Whenever one of Bangla's bowlers goes for runs, the comments 'Haha he's over rated, he's crap' are seen in full flow. Meanwhile, our boy Amir hasn't done jack since his comeback. I'm a Pakistani and this behaviour is seriously embarrassing. There's banter and then there's this.

LOL Last time when he played against Pakistan, he almost destroyed them taking 3 wickets for 8 runs in 3 overs :D
His batting is much stronger than his bowling. Shows the quality of Pak batting

I feel otherwise. He has lots of potential in bowling. Batting needs much improvement and glad he is on right path. For some reasons he is in different touch against Bangladesh.
 
Will India drop Ashwin to accommodate Pandya?

I personally feel that Pandya should replace one of the most overrated hasbeens in the playing XI against Pak.

He bowled a good line and length, good change up delivery and can also bowl the Yorker.

You are talking about real talent and his talent is his cutter and bowling and a good channel to the batsman. He doesn't have express pace yet especially after the injury.

He bowled well in the first PowerPlay. Third PowerPlay he didn't bowl poorly just great hitting by Pandya. Didn't use his main weapon - the cutter too often.

Obviously he is not exactly going to be a 16 average bowler as he is now but he still bowls with a lot of venom.
 
Scored 300+ without VK, Dhoni, Yuvraj getting a turn to score. Not bad eh?

Pakistan had a few good series in between which is why a lot of fans started claiming BD as overrated etc.

Bangladesh is actually a better side imo. Better batting lineup and bowling lineup. And this is on the basis of performance in recent times.

Pakistan do have some talents coming through the ranks so good luck to them

"nothing special" doesn't mean he is poor He is a good and smart bowler. And That's it. What I can't stand is when Bangla fans call him the best bowler in the world. He is far far from it.

Good post. True early to trash him. But it doesn't look bright to be honest. Once his cutters are more used he will have nothing left except Yorkers.

Poor bowling by Bangladesh. Mortaza is expected to replace one of the seamers today. In all likelihood, it will be Taskin. And it's going to end in tears for Mortaza (not that he had a spectacular career anyway). I can see England, Australia making merry on their way to 400+ scores. India have scored 324 without sweating a drop. I mean, this is without Kohli, Dhoni and Rohit failing!

It seems that you dont follow cricket except IPL.It is wastage of time to argue with you.Otherwise you would have known that Mustafizur bowled really well in tri nation tournament. It's not wise to reach conclusions just after a practice match. And it matters in cricket that whenever a fast bowlers come back after a long post injury rehab it certainly takes time to get rhythm, whether it is Shami,Bhuveneswer or whether its Fizz.

Mustafizur got smacked around I see. Bangladesh will have a hard time in this CT.

He is bowling good channels and that is important. I too felt that he was going to struggle but in the tri series he was a standout bowler. Swung the ball, bowled good channels.

If you bowl good line and length you will get good results. However on flat wickets abroad Fizz isn't going to be effective as he would be if there is grip on the surface or plenty of grass.

To label him the best bowler would be too much. True in the series' he has played so far he bowled like a champion but being the best means bowling well for a longer period of time.

To his credit in the two complete series he has played since his return he was the best bowler by a fair distance and he needs to maintain that.

If Ashwin is stil out of form, I would pick Hardik over him against Pak on June 4th.

If you look closely he had changed his style of batting. When he burst onto the scene, he use to go after bowlers regardless of their skills and use to get impatient quickly and that usually used to result in getting caught at boundary. A thing I noticed is that now he astutely build his innings and select easier prey to hunt. If he keeps on performing like this, he surely can be reliable no.6 giving us option to accommodate both ashwin and jaddu.

As of now he has not shown any improvement in bowling except bowling barrage of bouncers. So it's tough for me to take his bowling seriously.

We should drop Jadeja IMO if it all comes down to that. Jadeja will be very ineffective on flat pitches as we saw in the IPL. And his batting isn't much better than Ashwin's either. But I'd have both in my XI. Bumrah Bhuvi Shami should be our 3 fast bowlers. Umesh can be very very expensive. We shouldn't destroy his test career by making him play ODIs.

I thought Ban did well up until they let Pandya smash runs. Death bowling needs to be worked on for sure.
However it's chasable and if Tamim gets a score, Ban can easily win

Alarming signs for Pakistan against India.Kohli and Dhoni will play then.If Rohit plays it will be nice for Pakistan as Rohit is very inconsistent.Taskin is not in form,Murtaza will replace him.
 
Why are people mentioning Pakistan when it's an INDIA V BANGLADESH thread? :facepalm:
 
Back to back match, bowlers gave around 20 more in last 10 overs. I think, they need to change the bowling order - may be 5 from Mustafiz, 3 each from Rubel & Sakib for last 11 overs. That limits Mustafiz to 2 spells only, but Mashrafee & Miraz shouldn't bowl after 38 overs, while Taskin shouldn't start.
 
More selection conundrum for us with yadav performing. Sometimes lack of options is good in hindsight.

Ball was through before Sabbir Rehman could react.
 
IND's new ball bowling is quite formidable. More than pace, their skill has improved lot.
 
Bangladesh 11/3 (4.4 ov). Yes BD have improved a lot in last year.
Previously they would have been 11/5 in 5.5 overs ;))

Since Shami never looked 100% since his return, we should prefer Bhuvi and Umesh ahead of him.

Did you watch bhuvi'S ball against that leftie? Around the wicket short of length moved away from batsman after pitching completely squared him up.. Amazing ball pace was also pretty quick..
 
If there is some help in the pitch our bowling is extremely threatening under Kohli.

Sadly batting has become inconsistent

Batting is shaky because of team selection.

Selectors selected the team based on past performances and not on current form.

My post was against that ball - it's difficult to bring in air & cut off the seem, going round the wicket.

This has been the most under-appreciated aspect of Kohli's captaincy. Every single pacer has looked completely different under his captaincy.
 
Its pretty sad to see the way bangla is playing this match. Its not like the bowling is unplayable but they are making it out to be .

Bhuvi is carrying his IPL form now conditions are friendly for bowling so he is owning batsmen.. His death bowling is also one of the best in the world at the moment can bowl Yorkers at will like bhumra..
